To ask how often you shower?

I only shower 3-4 times a week, to be honest. Is that gross? I especially will skip a shower if my hair looks good.

I do, however, change undies every morning.

every day
twice a day after exercising or on period
occasionally if ive had a bath at night i wont shower the next morning tho unless been a warm night and i feel sweaty
at the moment im only washing my hair once a week

misschoices · 14/08/2020 22:26

People who shower twice a day- is it due to feeling grimy or just out of habit?

OP posts:
tootiredtospeak · 14/08/2020 22:27

Every day summer every other day in winter jusy dont feel as much need too. Clean undies and clothes every day regardless.

Barryisland · 14/08/2020 22:27

I shower each morning and each night.
You are filthy if you only shower 2 or 3 times a week.
And yes. You WILL smell. Only no one has told you.
Get in the shower it only takes 5 minutes. Envy

QueenCT · 14/08/2020 22:28

Depends. Most days, sometimes skip a day. I would shower at night so not the following morning. Or skip an evening shower and have one in the morning. I can tell if I smell, I have a nose Grin

GiraffeHat · 14/08/2020 22:28

Once a day, but some of the hotter days it's been twice!

Sheknowsaboutme · 14/08/2020 22:29

Everyday. I exercise so needs must

Hairthrowaway · 14/08/2020 22:29

Another thing, I see washing my hair as separate from showering. Usually when I shower I keep my hair well out of way. Washing my hair is a whole gargantuan task as it usually involves leaving olaplex/conditioning mask/blonde toning mask on for a lengthy period of time then following up with shampoo/conditioner etc. It takes significantly longer.

misschoices · 14/08/2020 22:30

@Barryisland

I've been told I do not smell, I've been this way for 20 years. But my showers are 20-30 minutes long - as I also exfoliate my body.

What does a 5 min shower for you? Are you even cleaning yourself properly?

OP posts:
Penguin007 · 14/08/2020 22:30

I used to work next to someone who showered every other day. They were sometimes sweaty, sometimes not, but always had a sour smell when not freshly showered.

Keepyourconversationsboring · 14/08/2020 22:30

Shower every morning, bath in the evening a few times a week, except when it's a heatwave! Wash my hair in the shower every other day and don't shave my legs as often as I should

Sheknowsaboutme · 14/08/2020 22:31

Oh i dont wash My hair in the shower all the time. I wash my hair in the morning as it looks its best.

HundredMilesAnHour · 14/08/2020 22:31

Every morning as soon as I get up, then again after the gym (I go every day) and I may have a third shower if I go back to the gym for another session or if it's particularly hot or I'm going out somewhere 'fancy'.

SeasideMaiden · 14/08/2020 22:31

I'm at least once a day.

I think I may have hyperhydrosis. But at the very least, I glow constantly, at the worst I'm soaked in sweat and stinking awfully.

I also have sensory issues and cannot cope with feeling dirty, unless I'm proactively working on something and know I can hop straight into the shower afterwards.

misschoices · 14/08/2020 22:32

@Penguin007

I honestly don't sweat very much if at all- mostly on my face is anything.

I do not smell- I've asked numerous people. Unless I cook, then the food smell is all over my hair and clothes and I hop in the shower.

OP posts:
UnfinishedSymphon · 14/08/2020 22:32

Twice a day, I'm perimenopausal and with heat I'd stink if I didn't

Lockheart · 14/08/2020 22:32

Whenever these threads come up on MN (as frequently as the fucking tides) I'm always amazed by the number of posters who have intimate knowledge of the bathing habits of their colleagues and indeed strangers in the street.

It's almost as though people are making shit up to prove a point.

Hairthrowaway · 14/08/2020 22:34

I think a 5 minute shower is fine if you use exfoliating shower gloves and a decent shower gel. You could even fit an in-shower moisturiser too (lush body conditioner/shower oils etc).

nobodysdaughter · 14/08/2020 22:34

At least a five minute shower every morning. In that time I wet myself, soap up every part, rinse off, then I'm out. You can get your whole body washed in five minutes, it's heaps of time. I do my hair every third day.

misschoices · 14/08/2020 22:35

@Lockheart

It was just a question due to seeing my partner shower daily and smell like moldy cheese as soon as gets out.

OP posts:
macdhui · 14/08/2020 22:35

Shower twice a day, could not imagine going to work or leaving the house without showering.

Hairthrowaway · 14/08/2020 22:36

To add 5 minute showers with exfoliating shower gloves/loofah are fine for those who shower twice daily as there’s never much “build up” compared to those who shower infrequently

UnfinishedSymphon · 14/08/2020 22:36

Has your partner seen a doctor OP as that doesn't sound normal

AnneElliott · 14/08/2020 22:36

Every morning. And in the heatwave I've also showered at night as well.

golddustwomen · 14/08/2020 22:37

Daily over here too.
