To be completely bored of the constant coverage of Harry and Meghan

It's just too much! Way too much media focus on a them and all their drama. There's a global pandemic, explosions, oil spills etc. etc. etc. There are so many more important things going on in the World than a bunch of over-priviledged plebs and their family drama. It's not interesting, it's not relevant to the rest of the World and it's not in any way beneficial to anyone to keep speculating about them. I get that some people may find it interesting but so interesting it dominates headlines for months on end?!?

I should point out, I'm moaning about the media's obsession rather than them as an individual couple; whilst I'm not a fan of theirs by any stretch, it's the ridiculous number of articles I've seen about them across different news sites that's bugging me. Surely there's not that much to say about them?!

Literally the only ‘coverage’ I see of H and M, other than a press mention of a privacy court case, is the Mn threads.

00100001 · 12/08/2020 06:23

What constant coverage? Confused

Tinsellball · 12/08/2020 06:26

There's been a lot of news coverage to coincide with the new book about them

Ohtherewearethen · 12/08/2020 06:27

They are all just rehashing the same story, based on the 'explosive claims' in the new book. Most of them.aee literal copy and paste jobs. I'm fed up with if too, if I wanted to read it I'd buy the book. I won't bother as it's all been quoted in the papers!
Ultimately, they are irrelevant but don't want to be. Despite their claims of wanting privacy, the last thing they want is to fade into distant memory. They need the frenzy surrounding this book to help them stay current and talked about. I imagine they'll be burning through money pretty quickly and need an income to pay the bills and staying in the spotlight us really the only way they can manage this.

TroysMammy · 12/08/2020 06:28

No one will need to buy the book, all the info is in the press about it's content.

Tonp · 12/08/2020 06:28

They’re trying to distract you from the business of other royals.
It says a lot how the media are treating Meghan compared to Andrew.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 12/08/2020 06:33

I find it baffling too. They've upped and left. Is there anything more to say? The authors of this book must be dancing around with joy at the amount of free publicity they are getting from the UK media.

YesINameChangeEveryDay · 12/08/2020 06:39

I haven't seen any coverage

WeAllHaveWings · 12/08/2020 06:41

I haven't seen anything either. Where are you seeing it?

FinnyStory · 12/08/2020 06:42

Aren't you choosing the wrong media then? I can honestly say the only place I've seen anything of them in the last couple of months is on MN!

positivepixie · 12/08/2020 06:43

Change your reading matter? I’m not seeing any headlines or articles in my regular news sources. Unfortunately it’s a fact that some newspapers experience an increase in sales every time the royals appear on the front page.

RoseAndRose · 12/08/2020 06:44

So bored, that you add to it Grin

Book out this week - not surprising it's getting coverage

MsTSwift · 12/08/2020 06:44

Step away from the Daily Mail op!

Dee1975 · 12/08/2020 06:45

Yep v board here. Every news app I go on they have multiple stories. Not just about the book, but their latest announcements.
Couldn’t give 2 hoots about what they have to say.

Frenchpastry · 12/08/2020 06:48

Where are those of you not seeing excess coverage going? I'm a simple person, I do mostly stick to Daily Mail and The Telegraph but other news outlets I know cover them also to ridiculous heights. I don't spend enough time on MN to see it in excess here to be honest. (Though clearly I'm contributing to this today 🙄)

Gubbeen · 12/08/2020 06:49

I’ve just googled ‘Harry and Meghan latest’, and the first page of results is all The Sun, Daily Mail or US media outlets. Just stop reading dimwit tabloids or American stuff.

Snaleandthewhail · 12/08/2020 06:51

YABU for mostly sticking to the Telegraph and the Daily Mail site for your sources of news. At least try somewhere with a slightly different perspective and better attitude towards women.

Frenchpastry · 12/08/2020 06:52

I don't think of The Telegraph as being a dimwit tabloid. I know the Daily Mail is but still. But I'm not just talking today or online, it's been everywhere for over a year now! And they're forever discussing it on ITV news show (don't have a TV licence so no idea about BBC)

BBC news
00100001 · 12/08/2020 06:55

I vaguely recall seeing something about the court case a week ago or so... but nothing else?

TeamWTF · 12/08/2020 06:56

This.
Exactly.

Digestive28 · 12/08/2020 06:56

But if they are talking about Harry and Megan then you aren’t thinking about Andrew...So whilst that rumbles on poor H and M will be thrown under a bus

00100001 · 12/08/2020 06:58

Plus sites like the mail will have algorithms to push stories it thinks you'll like, the more you click on Harry and Megan, the more you'll see about them ... It's a vicious circle!
Anything to get to you to click on to the next article (and therefore load an as and make the DM more money)

hopeishere · 12/08/2020 07:00

Agree it's because of the book.

oakleaffy · 12/08/2020 07:02

Lol! I think the Daily Heil runs stories of ''Hazmat and Megz'' more than any other site. The DM comments can occasionally be very witty...A couple of comments this morning made me laugh out loud.
