How old is too old to get your nose pierced?

MonkeysAllGoWoo · 10/08/2020 08:50

I am early 30s. Closer to mid 30s.

I have always wanted my nose pierced but never have as it may be frowned upon in a corporate environment. Covid has meant I will now have a career change and be out of corporate and into self employed but customer facing - young people mostly.

Would I be silly to get it done now or should I stop worrying about other peoples opinions because I'm too old for that surely???

I know plenty of people my age who had it done younger that still wear it.

I'm in my 30s and still have mine. Go for it!

Dreamersandwishers · 10/08/2020 08:52

When is too old? When you are in your coffin.
Seriously, if you fancy it , do it. Life is too short ...

Emeraldshamrock · 10/08/2020 08:54

I bet the majority would cringe on here.
IMO any age is no problem, my friend is stunning she has a small stone it is lovely.

CurseryKinkajoo · 10/08/2020 08:54

I had mine done 3 years ago at the age of 43. I wear a stud because my boss at the time preferred it to a ring (I work in a renowned ‘stuffy’ profession) but no one has ever batted an eyelid and it doesn’t affect my ability to do my job Grin.

No one can tell if it is recent or a throwback to when I was a teen so go for it I say Smile

PurpleMackington · 10/08/2020 08:55

I was 28, I don't think there's any age that is 'too old'. Just think, if you'd had it done at 18 and still wore it now, no one would think it was too old, so why not just get it done?

bogoblin · 10/08/2020 08:56

Dead!

Get it done! Chances are no one will notice - plenty of people don't notice I have mine done once let alone twice!

Time2change2 · 10/08/2020 08:56

Lots of people have it done at 40 and after! If it suits you it looks nice

Rockbird · 10/08/2020 08:57

Get it done. I got mine at 26 but I'm 48 now and still have it. No intention of getting rid.

TheBodyPiercer · 10/08/2020 08:57

Honestly nose piercings suit everyone & 90% of my clients are over 40, including the local vicar!

You'll love it, and at the very worst it can be removed.

HillyJilly · 10/08/2020 08:59

I'd say 110 is a bit old

I'm nearly 40 and have two dermals in my belly,a naval piercing and my tongue done. Why not? Life's short.

skippy67 · 10/08/2020 09:06

97 and a half. Definitely.

I was coming on to say pretty much the same thing as this!
SimonJT · 10/08/2020 09:15

No such thing as too old, and who cares if a few people don’t like it, it isn’t their face.

I’m 32, I have a slim rose gold nose ring, I like it and I think it looks good on me, I don’t care if other people dislike it.

Still1nLove · 10/08/2020 09:23

I had mine done at 40

LemonBreeland · 10/08/2020 09:30

I had mine done at 41. There is also a really cool older lady in my local Co-op who must be about 60 with one, and I think she looks great.

squashyhat · 10/08/2020 09:31

I am thinking of having one done as a 60th birthday present to myself! I do have a question for glasses wearers though - does a stud 'catch' on your glasses when you put them on or take them off?

Branleuse · 10/08/2020 09:32

i got mine done in my 40s.
sorry are we supposed to just give up and not get the things or wear the things we want after our 20s now?

Emeraldshamrock · 10/08/2020 09:33

@squashyhat Go for it. I'm not sure about the glasses.

MonkeysAllGoWoo · 10/08/2020 09:40

@squashyhat how do you take off your glasses? 😂😂😂 I never thought... another concern.

Ok! I'm going to do it. How exciting!!!! I was not expecting such a positive response.

Hiccupiscal · 10/08/2020 09:42

I'm 33. Had it done for second or third time a few years ago.

Since had septum and conch done too - oh and tragus.

Find your style, go with it, DGAF. I love all mine.

LaTomatina · 10/08/2020 09:44

I had mine done at 16 and then let it grow over because it upset my granny so much.
I'm 40 now and you've just made me think maybe I need to get it done again!

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 10/08/2020 09:45

How are you taking your glasses off squashy? 😂

FWIW I’ve got a nose ring and slid my glasses off all the way down my nose which felt really weird but it just slid past the ring

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 10/08/2020 09:46

Oh also.. DO IT!! Even if someone comes along and tells you you’re too old do you give a fuck really? If someone is that pressed about what you do with your own body their opinion isn’t one worth listening too!

Craftycorvid · 10/08/2020 09:50

Squashyhat. It hasn’t caused me any bother with my reading specs so far, and I’m always taking them on and off. Got my piercing done aged 51. Do it, OP! Grin
