How old is too old to get your nose pierced?

MonkeysAllGoWoo · 10/08/2020 08:50

I am early 30s. Closer to mid 30s.

I have always wanted my nose pierced but never have as it may be frowned upon in a corporate environment. Covid has meant I will now have a career change and be out of corporate and into self employed but customer facing - young people mostly.

Would I be silly to get it done now or should I stop worrying about other peoples opinions because I'm too old for that surely???

I know plenty of people my age who had it done younger that still wear it.
@Butchyrestingface it was the strangest feeling ever. Didn't like it. Now it just feels heavy! I'm so glad I did it. I nearly wimped out but I text DP and asked what he thought. He said hasn't got an opinion on it. Sorted.

I didn't want an awkward conversation when I got home. Over the years I have turned up with two cars on finance as a surprise and many a tattoo or piercing. I didn't want to do it again.

@MaMisled that sounds brutal!!! Was it horrendous? You're very very brave.
Was it painful? It doesn't look red or oozy. 😬

Just had mine done today, I'm 47.

The actual piercing took 2 minutes, she was great. It didn't hurt at all but I have just knocked it getting a wash so it's a bit tender now.

Sorry, the thread has moved on, I was just excited about the synchronicity of seeing this thread today and posted before reading to the end 😂

MonkeysAllGoWoo · 16/08/2020 08:37

How's yours now @feelingfragile ?

Wouldn't it be weird if we were in the same place at the same time! Funny that we both caught it too.

I can't yawn properly and it's pissing me off. A nice relaxing yawn Is sacred.

Do it
You’re not old at all

ItsmineAllmine · 16/08/2020 20:23

It looks great!

I would love to get my nose pierced but I have a horrible big pointy nose. I think it would just draw attention to it?? So have never plucked up the courage!

Tabbycat92 · 18/08/2020 14:33

I've just had mine done, I'm 28

Lifeisgenerallyfun · 18/08/2020 14:38

When you’re dead! If you want it go for it

Emeraldshamrock · 18/08/2020 15:53

@MonkeysAllGoWoo Is it very sore to yawn? Is it sore too sleep? This thread has inspired me to join the twinkle nose group.

Letsleepingdogslie8 · 18/08/2020 16:01

I’d still have mine well into my 30s if I had a choice. Bit of advice - don’t change the stud until way longer than the piercer suggests if you do it. Sad

Sarah75Lou · 18/08/2020 16:14

Go for it, I had mine originally pierced at 35 but my dd knocked it out when bf.
Had it re-done a few years later.
Just had my darth pierced a few weeks ago

LastInTheQueue · 18/08/2020 17:58

I had my nose pierced yesterday. I’m 43.

MonkeysAllGoWoo · 18/08/2020 20:06

@Emeraldshamrock not very sore to yawn but at first I couldn't open my mouth and fully enjoy the yawn. I now can and it's only a little tender. I was advised to have it further away from the crease but I think it looks better where it is and I think that's why!

Doesn't hurt to sleep but on the first night I think I slept on it as the bar was quite far in and pulled it out a smidge to get it back in place.

Do it!!! I actually love mine. Wish I had it done years ago! I do start a new office based and client facing role in six weeks tho so am a bit nervous about if they make me take it out.

I’ve got mine done and I’m not young let’s put it that way! Also have my eyebrow pierced. Do what you want, as long as you like the way you look that’s all that matters.

MabelMoo23 · 18/08/2020 20:51

Reading this thread is making me want to do it!! I’m 43... I love how a little sparkly jewel looks

But I’m scared it will hurt and I was also worried I was too old. Clearly not

howlathebees · 18/08/2020 20:52

Do it!

demelza82 · 18/08/2020 23:12

I had mine done at 34, mostly wear a ring . Next stop - ear project
