...how you came up with your Mumsnet username?

I've seen some strange ones (one that stands out is JizzPigeon haha, strange is not a bad thing!) so I was curious as to how you came up with your names.

All dressed up and no where to go. Something my mum used to say but also feels very apt for the current times.

WorraLiberty · 08/08/2020 00:38

I aspire to be just like Catherine Tate's 'Nan' some day Grin

nocoolnamesleft · 08/08/2020 00:38

What it says. I tried 5 or 6 other names first, but they'd all been taken.

Crankley · 08/08/2020 00:41

Nothing clever or super intellectual unfortunately. I had hurt my ankle which made me feel cranky on the day. I tried about 30 names, all of which were taken and this came to mind.

FuckyNel · 08/08/2020 00:44

Well I’m just common Grin

Iverunoutofnames · 08/08/2020 00:45

Obvious (also drunk btw) Grin

SeaToSki · 08/08/2020 00:47

To do with where I live

Halo1234 · 08/08/2020 00:48

I tried loads but they were taken. Was on holiday at the time wearing a t shirt that said hola for hello. Typed it wrong and got halo Blush and the numbers were to ensure it got accepted and hadn't been taken.

Inarightpickleandpreserve · 08/08/2020 00:50

I frequently say I am in a right pickle, that wasn’t available so I had to add preserve too.

God I am pissed

LadyOfTheCanyon · 08/08/2020 00:50

It's a play on a Joni Mitchell album.

VodselForDinner · 08/08/2020 00:51

It’s a book reference.

Midsommar · 08/08/2020 00:52

These are all interesting Smile mine was a horror movie reference (a film called Midsommar). Thought it sounded cool, haha

Sonmi451 · 08/08/2020 00:54

Mine's a book ref too. I was delighted when a poster on another thread got it 🙂

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/08/2020 00:58

changed it to this at the start of lockdown when I was wondering what a few months of being at home on my own day in day out would be like.
Not many duvet days, but I have done the occasional 9am meeting still wearing pyjamas.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 08/08/2020 01:01

Mine was feeling my age. How on earth am I this old?!

BadTimesAtTheElRoyale · 08/08/2020 01:02

A film reference here too.

Inarightpickleandpreserve · 08/08/2020 01:02

I hear you! I keep looking in the mirror and wondering why a very tired version of my mum is looking back at me!
CuntyMcBollocks · 08/08/2020 01:02

I just wanted swear words in my username

BetterEatCheese · 08/08/2020 01:07

Mine is what I say to myself in the evening when I don't know what to snack on

PurpleSproutingSomething · 08/08/2020 01:07

I love broccoli Grin

ChildOfTheNineties · 08/08/2020 01:10

I went for it because I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for when I was at school In the 90's.

JammyHands · 08/08/2020 01:11

I looked around for inspiration and there they were.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 08/08/2020 01:11

It was at the start of lockdown, when we couldn't go out anywhere apart from the local shops if we really needed to and it made me think of picnics in the park and sunnier days Smile
Still a bit baffled as to what the poster insinuating I was a perv and dodgy, and that I should google was all about lol - think they have ishoos and says more about them than me lol, reallllllly not going to google either lol.
Maybe need a more "well 'ard' name next name change Grin

feliciabirthgiver · 08/08/2020 01:12

Dd went through a 'bye Felicia' stage (those with teens may remember that from a few years ago?), I'm programmed in her phone as Birth Giver so nicked the combination from her.
