...how you came up with your Mumsnet username?

I've seen some strange ones (one that stands out is JizzPigeon haha, strange is not a bad thing!) so I was curious as to how you came up with your names.

Anne Twackie
made me laugh - and reminded me of my Nan - not mispronunciations, but she'd often used the wrong words - she was very proud of telling us about her school, where "all the girls used to wear a bloater on their heads to walk to church on Sunday" and she was obsessed about funeral arrangements, always telling us that she didn't want any volley balls (vol au vents, very 70's) in the buffet.

Last changed mine when pregnant and uncomfortable and very much looking forward to my ELCS date in October. Said baby now almost 2 so probably time for a name change!

Mines from a song by elbow called red. My "one that got away" cited it when he broke up with me by saying the lyrics made him think of me. In retrospect I think he was a bit of a drama llama (or alpaca as a pp said!)

I also now realise it's a bit of a weird thing to say, at the time I was too deep into playing you oughta know by Alanis morrisette and drinking MD20-20 to get over here to appreciate that. Simpler times

as my name is laura i used to be with someone who was barry shortened to baz so i joined the two names as i thought it sounded good.
is going mad was added after a hectic day when i was right royally peed off.
i keep thinking of better names as lots of folk comment on names but no one has never commented on mine i thought they would as its unusual.
i have thought of changing my name but thought people would not know who i was not that anyone asks or follows me anyway

I’m an under-appreciated Buffy episode

I joined last year when we were moving house (and country!) For what felt like the 80th time. It's a lot less in reality. Planning our next move now... But it will be to settle down for about 10years.

@AnneTwackie, it’s not a mispronunciation, it’s Scouse humour. All my Mum’s family say AnneTwackie, or Anne Twack for short.

As in “what did you think of the dress?”
“It’s a bit Anne Twack, I’d take it back if I were you.”

I change names all the while on a whim. This was because my previous one was near-identical to another poster’s and we were chatting on the same thread so I thought it polite to change name to prevent confusion.

I’d been (re)watching the 2003 Peter Pan the previous day.

I went on a random name selector and saw 'bedjolly' and thought 'that's me' 😆

@FuckyNel yours is my fave I think. Along with @CuntyMcBollocks mines a book character. But I recently found out I spelt Minnie wrong when I re-read

There was a thread about usernames that were other users' real names. I was one of the people who had someone's real name as my username. So I changed it.

I'm a Reeves and Mortimer character

I change mine very regularly as I don't want my posts joined up and to be identified. I don't give a lot of personal info and never share pictures.
Mine are usually from films/tv sometimes bands or just random words/sentences.
