To ask how many facemasks you have?

I've ordered another 8 and have my eye on another 5 pack....when in reality how many reusable ones do I need...am I getting obsessed?

I can't even leave the house without one in my bag due to current rules so I guess it's not a bad thing!

None. I have several buffs that I normally use for cycling.

applePearbanana · 30/07/2020 22:28

Loads ! Disposable ones and 100% cotton 3 layer ones
All in my ‘masket’ which is the basket for masks 🤣 by the front door with all the little hand gels and wipes In There too So they can be grabbed easily as leaving the house

BiddyPop · 30/07/2020 22:29

Mine are all at least 2 layer, most 3 layer and all have a pocket for filters. Dd accepts wearing hers in shops (just don’t ask her to put it on before we get to the shop door - she’s 14 🙄) but was much happier with plain black than plain white, and has a few buffs to use as well.

MitziK · 30/07/2020 22:29

Two plus tons of assorted fabric scarves.

Maybe at some point, I'll find one that works with my nose.

The metal strip ones don't work and wearing glasses doesn't help much. And tit tape meant my glasses fell off. I've also got one of the plastic tags to try and hold the mask on, but that always slides to the base of my skull, as I've also got a weird head that doesn't keep headbands on at all.

What do other people do when they've got a really small, turned up nose?

LouLou789 · 30/07/2020 22:29

We have a fabric one each and a bandana one each which can be washed, but these are just back ups. We have a large box of disposables for single use for most of the time

MegaClutterSlut · 30/07/2020 22:29

I have 10 re usable face coverings between the 4 of us. They're washed after every use as I'm constantly touching and re-adjusting my mask when out as it pisses me off

HoneyBee03 · 30/07/2020 22:31

I share a snood with my husband. Probably ought to sort that out.

AliTheMinx · 30/07/2020 22:31

Just one lovely fabric polkadot one, which lives in my bag. Only used for quick pop to shops.

TimeWastingButFun · 30/07/2020 22:32

I've got 20-25 washable fabric ones. I use a fresh one whenever I go into a different place or on a different occasion so need a few.

hayfeverhellish · 30/07/2020 22:34

There's a lot of 'it lives in my bag / car door' here - please tell me they are being washed after each use and not shoved back in said place??! (And yes, even after a few mins use!)

JammyHands · 30/07/2020 22:36

About a dozen, I made them myself and they have pockets for bought filters. Loving this thread.

AnnieCartwright · 30/07/2020 22:38

@PinkBuffalo

PinkBuffalo

One with pink stars on. I literally only put it on if I have to go in a shop/get petrol Because it is compulsory other than that it just stays in my bag.

You should wash it after every use.

namesnamesnamesnames · 30/07/2020 22:40

Clearly not enough!

SundayShawl · 30/07/2020 22:45

I made a dozen for DH and I've got 6 so far. We work in London so need at least 2 each a day for the trains. I started with the pleated kind but I've now found a really good pattern for shaped masks that fit better.

I'm going to see DM at the weekend to collect my fabric stash so I can make more 😂

Davros · 30/07/2020 22:46

Well you Liberty doubters, read the attached!
I forgot that I also bought some from a local person on a NextDoor, three for £10, and they are quite crappy and definitely not worth the £10

3 each here. On/off/one in the wash.

Bargebill19 · 30/07/2020 22:50

@hayfeverhellish - I can only speak for myself, but yes and I agree with you. Having several gives you chance to change and wash them as soon as they been used once.
Our used ones go in a fabric bag and the whole thing goes in the wash. No need to touch the used masks until they’ve been washed.

Cheetahfajita · 30/07/2020 22:52

@Dinocan can you post a link to your eBay shop please? I'm after a few more. Thanks.

Rockbird · 30/07/2020 22:54

About 30 plain black or white reusable between me, DH and DD1. DD2 doesn't have to wear them as she's under 11 but she has about 6 reusables. They go into a mesh bag once worn and then through the wash once a week. I can't keep up with forever washing them and having to find them all in the washing so I save them up and wash all at once.

RhubarbJelly · 30/07/2020 22:55

Can anybody recommend a 3 layer one, pleated, with nose wire that is comfy on the ears due to a relative having glasses and One hearing aids?

Or as above with a filter pocket?

Fruityb · 30/07/2020 22:57

Made a load so I’ve probably got about 10. I’ve only worn one once though. All washable ones.

Fruityb · 30/07/2020 22:59

And about six- eight hyyge bands which are also useful.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 30/07/2020 22:59

3 fabric washable ones
Approx 100 disposable ones. Came in a box a bit like tissues

TrainspottingWelsh · 30/07/2020 23:00

@MitziK a balaclava. Seems to reduce the bills too.

Is your hair long enough for a bun or low pony? Dd has one of the mask band things and puts it above her hair so it doesn't slide down. Or you could cross the bands before they go behind your ears so it's a closer fit. Alternatively try putting your mask really high so your glasses hold it in place, if you have a tiny nose it should still reach below your chin ok

littledrummergirl · 30/07/2020 23:00

None. I have a bandana that I wear when needed though.
