Would you pay £150 for pyjamas?

I’ve seen some pyjamas I really like with a jaguar print on. They were in a sponsored ad which said something along the lines of ‘everyone needs two pairs of our pyjamas during lockdown’ so I clicked and then saw they were £150 and made of cotton, not silk or gold or cashmere. Part of me thinks if you can afford it, what the hell but the other part of me questions if anyone in their right mind would pay this. So, AIBU to think £150 pyjamas are an utter waste of money?

No. But you should Smile

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 23/07/2020 18:51

Would I fuck spend that much money on pj’s!

BunningAndStrave · 23/07/2020 18:51

I wouldn't pay that for cotton.

EmbarrassedUser · 23/07/2020 18:51

They seem very overpriced and to be honest, they’re nice but not that great.

VettiyaIruken · 23/07/2020 18:51

I wouldn't. But £150 is a lot of money to me.

If you are well off and can afford it, why the hell not?! If you will love them then get them.

Calic0 · 23/07/2020 18:51

I wouldn’t.

But I hate, hate, hate judging people for what they choose to spend their money on. If you can afford it, if you’re not getting into debt for it or allowing your kids to go hungry or reneging on bills then you should spend whatever you want on whatever makes you happy.

jassa090 · 23/07/2020 18:52

Best sellers my arse. Trying it on more like.

inthebleakmidwinteriwouldsing · 23/07/2020 18:52

For that price I'd want to wear them out dancing.

Laigny · 23/07/2020 18:52

Free advertising for the company there Hmm

Fudgewhizz · 23/07/2020 18:53

No, but that's because it would use up a quarter of our post-bills income and we need to eat Grin If you have the disposable income and love them, then

Apolloanddaphne · 23/07/2020 18:53

I could afford to but I wouldn't. I wash mine so much they are like limp rags after a while. I buy cheap cotton ones from M&S and change them fairly regularly.

slinkystairs · 23/07/2020 18:54

They come with a free Jaguar right?

LittleBearPad · 23/07/2020 18:54

If you can afford it do, if you can’t don’t.

Hiccupiscal · 23/07/2020 18:55

Overpriced....
I paid about £40 for pjs from Frugi and thought that was expensive, but i love them...
Are these organic, fair trade, soil approved etc? (Did have quick look at the link, but couldn't see much about them) that's the only way I would pay premium for clothing.
To be honest... my pjs last up to and around 5 - 6 years, prehaps longer, so one paid would be £25 per year if they were good quality and long lasting, if you looked at it that way, i guess its a bargain! Grin (still wouldn't pay that amount without damn good reason though)

AutumnLeavesSeptember · 23/07/2020 18:56

No way! Get thyself a Tiger jumper you can wear out the house at least!!

Tlollj · 23/07/2020 18:57

The Bromley Parrot? I’ve been in that pub I think.
I wouldn’t but if you can afford it why not.

SantaClaritaDiet · 23/07/2020 19:00

YABU

because someone can say the same about pjs costing £60, £40 or any amount lower than the cheapest ones you can find.

Some people live in pjs apparently!

That's not money I would spend personally, but that's my choice.

everything is a waste of money on MN: birthday presents, clothes, weddings, holidays, hairdressers..... as long as you can afford it and it makes you happy, why on earth wouldn't you? What's the point to have money if you can't spend it.

SimonJT · 23/07/2020 19:01

I have spent a stupid amount of money on some clothes, I paid a lot of money versace open silk bedroom shirt, so I can’t tell people they’re spending too much on clothes!

steff13 · 23/07/2020 19:02

For cotton pajamas, no.

Alsohuman · 23/07/2020 19:04

I knew before I opened the thread they’d be that pair. They’re wonderful, I’ve been lusting after them for ages. Yes, if I could afford them, I’d definitely buy them.

GoshHashana · 23/07/2020 19:05

I couldn't live with myself, honestly. Spend a fiver on a pair somewhere else and use the £145 to buy supplies for women and children in refuges.

ChelseaCat · 23/07/2020 19:07

Desmond & Dempsey PJs are divinely soft. I love mine. Luna & Noon are cheaper but also really lovely and have cool prints

CandidaAlbicans2 · 23/07/2020 19:07

No, they're overpriced for what they are so even though I could afford them there's no way I would buy a pair.

SantaClaritaDiet · 23/07/2020 19:09

£150 is quite cheap anyway,

I mean if you start shopping around, these are quite nice Grin

Newbie1999 · 23/07/2020 19:09

Knew these would be D&D. I wouldn’t pay that for them, but they have some beautiful ones.
