Would you pay £150 for pyjamas?

I’ve seen some pyjamas I really like with a jaguar print on. They were in a sponsored ad which said something along the lines of ‘everyone needs two pairs of our pyjamas during lockdown’ so I clicked and then saw they were £150 and made of cotton, not silk or gold or cashmere. Part of me thinks if you can afford it, what the hell but the other part of me questions if anyone in their right mind would pay this. So, AIBU to think £150 pyjamas are an utter waste of money?

Marks and spencer £9.50 cotton ones..cant beat them. How on earth pay £150 for pjs..yes maybe a coat or a dress but £150 on one item of clothing....madness

I wouldn't but then I am happy to spend that kind of money on a casual dress, so if these make you happy, go for it!

How about this?

flight2020 · 23/07/2020 19:35

If you can afford them and you like them , then go ahead and enjoy them , personally I don't like them at all so I wouldn't but each to there own

GenevaL · 23/07/2020 19:35
That’s probably the most theatrical nightwear I’ve ever seen in my life

Nope because they won’t be long enough for my legs.

passthemustard · 23/07/2020 19:36

I paid £65 for a pair from the white company once. I thought that was the epitome of luxury. A real treat. Frivolous in fact. Now I feel cheated.

TAKESNOSHITSHIRLEY · 23/07/2020 19:36

i moan at anything over a tenner

your off your head at that price
some people dont get that as a family to live on let alone bloody pyjamas

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 23/07/2020 19:36

No I wouldn't! What's the point when I'm the only person who would see me in them?

Tinyandpetite · 23/07/2020 19:37

Bit embarrassed to say I got 5 pairs of cotton pjs today from the charity shop. They are nice but no way could I justify that. If you can afford though, totally get them.

GameSetMatch · 23/07/2020 19:37

No! I’d rather have a cheaper pair from Next and a night away for that price!

nitgel · 23/07/2020 19:38

Jigsaw do nice animal print Pyjamas

MolyHolyGuacamole · 23/07/2020 19:39

Someone is paying £150 for pyjamas with a jaguar print? Carole Baskin, is that you?

MrsAD · 23/07/2020 19:40

My husband bought me some for Xmas as colleague of his recommended them. They are really nice and soft but I probably wouldn't pay my own money for them. Not because I wouldn't pay that much for Pj's (I earn quite a lot and like to treat myself) but because they're not really £150 nice. £75 nice maybe.

Sisterwives · 23/07/2020 19:41

Nope. Not even if I had a million pounds Smile

It’s very hard to buy ethically and the places charging £150 for a pair of pjs aren’t necessarily more ethical than the places charging £15 - although obviously with the £15 pair you can be 99.9% sure that there’s exploitation involved in the production.

StuntCroissant · 23/07/2020 19:45

I have these PJs Blush. My SIL bought them for me as a gift after the birth of my second DC. They feel lovely but I don't think they're worth £150. They're the kind of cotton which needs ironing which I CBA to do. And one of the buttons has fallen off.

HugeBowlofChips · 23/07/2020 19:46

I have had pyjamas from this company. Beautifully packaged, very excited to wear them, but the quality of cotton was poor and after washing they looked bloody awful. I sent them back. Bonsoir's designs won't get your heart racing, and the website looks like it was designed for a target audience of octogenarians, but the quality is superb. You can't capture this online.

neighbourhoodwitch · 23/07/2020 19:53

Gorgeous but no!! I always get lovely ones at TK Maxx.

MissConductUS · 23/07/2020 19:53

Do they make tea or bake scones?

damnthatanxiety · 23/07/2020 19:54

Why do people think cotton is a low value fabric. Quality, high thread count cotton is a beautiful fabric. It's the same with leather bags. People seem to think that the skin of an animal is somehow inherently a more valuable material than anything else

iwantavuvezela · 23/07/2020 19:55

I have a pair of these pj’s and I absolutely love them! If you want I can send you a refer a friend email to get you £20 off. (Just message me)

Magickl · 23/07/2020 19:56

Desmond and Dempsey are doing a collaboration with H&M. Not pj's but some nice cotton /linen kaftan and blouses types in their palm print.

winepls · 23/07/2020 19:57

FUCK NO.

HTH.
