Would you pay £150 for pyjamas?

I’ve seen some pyjamas I really like with a jaguar print on. They were in a sponsored ad which said something along the lines of ‘everyone needs two pairs of our pyjamas during lockdown’ so I clicked and then saw they were £150 and made of cotton, not silk or gold or cashmere. Part of me thinks if you can afford it, what the hell but the other part of me questions if anyone in their right mind would pay this. So, AIBU to think £150 pyjamas are an utter waste of money?

I've recently bought this and absolutely love it - it's not quite as much, but is essentially just a dressing gown.. it's gorgeous and I love wafting around the house in it.

Yankathebear · 24/07/2020 09:22

I would. Maybe not those but I would spend £150 on pjs. I don’t even sleep in them but I love good pjs.

Alloverthegrapevine · 24/07/2020 09:27

Since clicking on this link, their advertising is coming up on my FB. The comments are not positive.

Spidey66 · 24/07/2020 09:32

I don't wear pyjamas, I wear nighties. I like to get some fresh air to my lady bits.

I usually buy mine from supermarkets, spending about £6.

I wouldn't even spend £150 on a winter coat, which to me is a better use of my money. At least others aside from my husband and the dog would see them.

LakieLady · 24/07/2020 09:35

They're lovely, but I like the leopard ones better.

I bet they feel fabulous too. If I wanted some really special pj's for any reason, I could be seriously tempted.

FreshfieldsGal · 24/07/2020 09:57

I love the Queen of Hearts print on One Hundred Stars. More reasonably priced.

I think the most I've paid on Pj's is about £40. I'm a sucker for slippers though, I love the Fitflops ones.

Pootles I've bought 3 of their dressing gowns on lockdown but haven't worn them yet, too nice! I have bought them when the discount offer was on though.

I love the Queen of Hearts print on One Hundred Stars
Oh yes, very unusual! I like those too @FreshFieldsGal. Pity they're "one size fits all" rather than proper sizes though.

Pootles34 · 24/07/2020 15:36

Candida that's a good point - one size is ok for dressing gowns, but not for pjs I don't imagine.

My daughters (22 and 18) have a set each bought as a xmas present by a very venerous Aunt. They are gorgeous and wash/ wear well - love them
so definately get a pair

Lizdeflores · 24/07/2020 15:55

Do they make the coffee in the morning??

Alsohuman · 24/07/2020 16:13

I’ve got the One Hundred Stars dressing gown in Paris map. I love it, it feels as if I should have a boudoir.

she is the most lovliest auntie - must learn to proof read☺☺

zingally · 24/07/2020 18:37

I mean, if you can afford it, and really want them, then why not?

Personally I'm content in my knickers and £2.50 Primark vest top! Each to their own!

Pineapples1980 · 24/07/2020 18:47

I’ve been having the exact same debate throughout all of lockdown!

Slimeafterslime · 24/07/2020 18:50

I bought cyberjammies and felt that was pushing the boat out Blush

august11 · 24/07/2020 18:53

Absolutely not.

shinynewapple2020 · 24/07/2020 19:41

I wouldn't. I would normally get PJs somewhere like Asda or even sleep in old joggers and T shirt.

But .... I have read that you should spend most money on the clothing you wear the most - so perhaps it's something to think about. Particularly since working from home I sometimes spend all day in PJs Grin

CuppaZa · 24/07/2020 19:43

If I really like the pyjamas, yes I would spend that amount

Buggedandconfused · 24/07/2020 19:54

£310 for a robe 😂 So glad I’m not rich and gullible.

I’m not keen on the designs for this brand. Plus I’ve seen too much SM type advertising to make me go off it more.

washthepot · 25/07/2020 08:42

These were my lockdown investment! I have the jaguar and the pineapple, and I LOVE them.
