I love it. DH hates it.

CherryPavlova · 09/07/2020 22:21

Lazy summer supper party starter. Grim.

FarTooMuchWashing · 09/07/2020 22:22

We were going to have it at our wedding, but we decided against it as we could just hear the grandparents saying ‘lovely wedding, but the soup was cold’. 😁

nobeer · 09/07/2020 22:28

I don't like cucumber so don't like it. I love salmorejo though, which is another Spanish cold soup, but thickened with bread.

Whoopsmahoot · 09/07/2020 22:35

🤮 soup should be piping hot not cold

jackdaw141 · 09/07/2020 22:38

No. Because according to the votes it is 50/50.

Happy now?

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 09/07/2020 22:38

I love it. Delia's recipe is excellent. But cold soup should be really cold, not just lukewarm. A couple of chunks of ice does the job.

Paragraff · 09/07/2020 22:39

Aldi sells it and it's delicious. Feels very healthy too.

Hippopotas · 09/07/2020 22:42

@BobbinThreadbare123

3 pages in and nobody has mentioned Arnold J Rimmer....
I was waiting for someone to say it! :)
MissEliza · 09/07/2020 22:43

YANBU I remembering having it in Majorca years ago and quickly regretting it.

AstridAv · 09/07/2020 22:45

Well I, off to google because I've never even heard of itBlush

AstridAv · 09/07/2020 22:47

After I quick google, I have decided I will probably never try it. Doesn't sound appealing to me. All I got from that was cold raw vegetable soupGin

missingmum · 09/07/2020 22:52

@HollyHocks13

I love it! I think people who haven't tried it don't like the idea of cold soup but it's not soup that's been cooked and left to go cold - more of a liquidised salad!
never tried it as it has never appealed but that description had put me off it for life 🤢

I love it.

WinWinnieTheWay · 09/07/2020 22:55

I do, but will only eat authentic ones when in Spain or the Balearics.

WinWinnieTheWay · 09/07/2020 22:56

I have some idea that asparagus soup can also be eaten cold. Is that a thing or have I imagined it?

Oldsu · 09/07/2020 23:06

is there a button for never heard of it, could google it but cant be arsed

JammyHands · 09/07/2020 23:09

I love it but I leave out the bread, which to me gives it a mushy consistency that is revolting.

JammyHands · 09/07/2020 23:10

@winwinnie might you be thinking of Vichyssoise, which is a leek and potato soup with a lot of cream in?

WinWinnieTheWay · 09/07/2020 23:16

@JammyHands bingo! Yes! With little chives sprinkled on. Yum.

Tillygetsit · 09/07/2020 23:18

Delicious

minipie · 09/07/2020 23:21

Love it on a really hot day. Wouldn’t want it in any other weather.

AdaColeman · 09/07/2020 23:24

@WinWinnieTheWay, yes chilled asparagus soup is a well known dish, also asparagus and avocado. Some other well known chilled soups are cucumber & yoghurt, consommé, Greek egg & lemon, pea & mint.

Chochito · 09/07/2020 23:26

I love gazpacho and salmorejo and eat one of them at least once a day in summer. I prefer gazpacho.
