MIL got the the kids sea monkeys for Xmas I've only been the one bothered about them. They freak me out more than anything and can't bare the thought of bringing them to the new house.

Are these the type of pets you give away? Are they pets I don't know 🤣

Maybe I’m just bitter because ours didn’t hatch 😂

Lorddenning1 · 09/07/2020 18:08

@ShebaShimmyShake don't you mean they shop at ssssssainsburys, I will get my coat

drinkingwineoutofamug · 09/07/2020 18:10

I want sea monkeys now after reading this. How does one go about cleaning the tank though. The last lot we had when kids were small, the tank turned green and I think they suffocated 😬

Oh, fangs for that.

Toomuchtrouble4me · 09/07/2020 18:20

I buy crickets to feed to our gecko - Is that cruel?
It is NOT the same a puppy - I wouldn’t feed puppies to the Gecko - honestly.
Post them to me op, I live on the south coast - I’ll set them free for you!
Or flush them down the loo.

FelicisNox · 09/07/2020 18:24

What a hilarious thread!

As for the people losing their sh*t over a couple of microscopic shrimps that should have died already ... get a bloody life. Seriously. I hope you're all vegans with that twatty attitude.

I've seen it all now. 😂

Figgygal · 09/07/2020 18:27

Op dropped that shrimpy bomb Then scuttled away

YouBringLightInToADarkPlace · 09/07/2020 18:33

@figgygal maybe she's been arrested by the Sea Monkey Police...

@ShebaShimmyShake your hissssterical

Jeeperscreepers69 · 09/07/2020 19:09

In the spirit of being vile. Flush them. They will live in the sewers. Or drink them and get a baby sea creature in your tummy in 9 months 🤣🤣🤣

MrsBadcrumble123 · 09/07/2020 19:18

@frostedviolets totally agree!!

Jeeperscreepers69 · 09/07/2020 19:23

@dulldullweather. Vile maybe but is there any need to call people "fucking vile" ... Theres nothing "fucking vile" about throwing away brine shrimp. But you no what is "fucking vile" your potty mouth

Jeeperscreepers69 · 09/07/2020 19:26

@FelicisNox. I say flush em suckers. 🤣🤣

Greenmarmalade · 09/07/2020 19:29

Utterly gross.

everythingthelighttouches · 09/07/2020 19:31

Accidentally left ours on different windowsill to usual when it was hot and they all cooked Sad

Widdlywoo2u · 09/07/2020 19:38

So those tapeworm people buy as pills for weight loss... given the intention to nurture the worms internally, is the need to take medicine to kill them when the worms take over needless and vile murder given the prior intention to nurture them? Asking for a friend.

Shell4429 · 09/07/2020 19:42

The hypocrisy here is astounding. They are living creatures yes, but so are the fish, chickens and cows people eat. You can’t claim it’s ‘vile’ to kill sea monkeys if you eat meat!

tizzero · 09/07/2020 19:44

@drinkingwineoutofamug

I've never cleaned the tank. Just too it up now and again. Feed them about once a month as they eat the algae. Mine seem to be doing well. Always shagging.

firenze86 · 09/07/2020 19:44

Best thread ever

Jeeperscreepers69 · 09/07/2020 19:48

@greenmarmalade. I agree gross. Flush em

SummerHouse · 09/07/2020 20:03

I have some still in powdered form in the box from Christmas. Now knee deep in an ethical / moral / humanitarian dilemma which will no doubt visit me tonight in the form of sea monkey nightmares. I must start a new thread to canvas opinion: Do I have an obligation to hydrate my powdered sea monkey eggs?

DreamTheMoors · 09/07/2020 20:13

THROW THEM OUT. I can’t believe you’re even asking.

Itsarattrap · 09/07/2020 20:13

I still remember my sister’s disappointment after sending away for sea monkeys in the post from an American comic small ad, circa 1975. They arrived and she followed the instructions to the letter. How disappointed was she when they grew not into little tiny cartoon monkey creatures in clothes that peered and waved through the tank, as in the colourful, accompanying illustration, but into weeny little prawns.
