After being blessed with learning about Paverotti's singing with Skunk Anansie on another thread, along with other great tracks.... can I ask for recommendations of artists or groups you love and can't understand why they aren't much better loved... trying to widen my music loves without listening to the radio.
I'll start with Natty - reggae- albums "Man Like I" and "Release The Fear"
Teddy Thompson- folk/pop/country/bit Everly brothers- albums "Separate Ways" , "Piece Of What You Need" and several others.

Wings was a funny outfit. There were only three permanent members, Mr and Mrs McCartney and Denny Laine. Paul was undoubtedly the focus of the act, Linda was not exactly a musician so was arguably
along for the ride (sorry) and Denny was in the shadow of Paul. A constantly revolving roster of drummers and second guitarists perhaps didn't help their cohesion. To Paul's credit, all members of any given line-up were given at least one lead vocal spot on the Wings albums but none of these were singles. Wings was essentially a solo project for Paul McCartney, albeit with a few degrees of stability in the wings, as it were.

Luke Combs.

I want him to sing every song ever made. His voice is heaven to me.

Idlewild. People should fall down and worship, then buy all their stuff.

Pale Waves - a goth-pop band who are signed to the 1975's record label. My eldest daughter introduced them to me.

@Butterer thank you! I’ve just gone on a 15 minute journey down an internet rabbit hole from that Longpigs link which just ended with me buying The Sun is Often Out on blue vinyl!

Kodaline are fabulous! I have seen them 4 times and always in small venues. How they are not more popular, I do not know!

@lostinlego - it is good to see Trampolene mentioned. They support Peter Doherty a lot (and Jack has collaborated on a couple of singles with PD). As I am a massive PD fan then I do see quite a lot of Trampolene

My recommendation is a group called Nothing But Thieves. The lead singer is classically trained and his voice is absolutely incredible. They do some quite rocky tracks, but also some heart-wrenchingly beautiful love songs.
I have seen them once, supporting Muse and would love to see them again.
Please give this a listen...

LunaNorth · 04/07/2020 23:05

Sorry, This Is The Kit.

Duh

ShinyMe · 04/07/2020 23:07

I love a band called the Lucky Chops. I saw them first at Rock City in Nottingham a couple of years ago, and they were amazing. Sort of a punk brass band with drums (no singing, just instrumental) playing at that time covers of soul/pop songs but sort of punky and funky. I had such a good time at that show. Have seen them a couple of times since and they're so good. They have their own shows now and play a lot of their own stuff now too, and have a few albums out. I never knew I needed a topless bloke in leopardpint with a euphonium playing a punk cover of Jackson Five hits, but apparently I do.

This was them 4 years ago busking in the subway, just before they started supporting other bands on tour.

ShinyMe · 04/07/2020 23:12

Sorry, I missed it out somehow, but I meant that I first saw them supporting another band (Gogol Bordello, who are also awesome and underrated) and I didn't know anything about them beforehand.
