To ask if you are going Out, out tomorrow evening?

The media coverage almost seems to encourage people to relax the lockdown and have a blow out!
So I'm wondering....
YABU = off out, need to let off steam.
YANBU = staying safe at home, there's a pandemic.

Anyone else being given the impression we are being encouraged here?

Not in the evening, no. If I pass an open pub without a queue outside, on my walk in the daytime I might consider having a drink.

KeepWashingThoseHands · 03/07/2020 11:56

I'm not going out out (or even just out), but looking forward to being old and regaling stories of my youth when we would go out out - in groups - standing right next to each other - inside - and no masks!

Those were the good old days. Smile

Steamfan · 03/07/2020 11:56

Not a chance. Staying home

GinDaddyRedux · 03/07/2020 11:57

We are of course being encouraged, partially because the Government wants to help stimulate business for those sectors that are late to having restrictions lifted, but moreover because the Government are desperate to appear "in control" of the virus and show progression, show people that everything is normal again.

It's the very thing that a lot of people on this board have called for week in week out. "Why aren't we able to just get on with it?"

Well tomorrow's their answer - yep, from July 4th we can all get on with it. Let's see however whether getting on with it leads to the inevitable second wave. For those people out partying tomorrow, there'll be no telling them - they've held their breath long enough, they want to let loose, and they'll claim mental health and all sorts as factors as to why they should be allowed to go out and drink etc.

YouDirtyMare · 03/07/2020 11:58

nope

bestbrowsintown · 03/07/2020 11:58

I live in Scotland, there's nowhere to go. Anyway I'm pregnant and have a 3yo so won't be going out out for a while.
I would like to go out for dinner though.

monkeytennis97 · 03/07/2020 11:58

Going to bbq at mum and dads (first time I have been there since February and my first visit out to another house since then too), will stay outside and wear a mask. Def not to a pub. Have not been to a shop yet.

Sunnydayshereatlast · 03/07/2020 11:58

Staying home even though it's my birthday!! Hopefully dh has some plans organised!

TheQueef · 03/07/2020 11:59

no. but it is our wedding anniversary later this month and as in theory we can now ask grandparents to babysit we will be making tentative steps to go out for that. Also we have a zoo trip booked next week and hope to be able to use a cafe there for the first time.

OldBean2 · 03/07/2020 12:25

No, not sure it would be in the least bit enjoyable.

gobbynorthernbird · 03/07/2020 12:28

I'm not going out, but not because of the pandemic. Mostly because I think Manchester city centre will be a mess, and the atmosphere won't be the same. And all the nice places by me aren't reopening this weekend.

devildeepbluesea · 03/07/2020 12:30

No, I'm in Wales. But we are hoping to nip out to support our local once its beer garden is open on the 13th.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/07/2020 12:30

Out in the garden with a few drinks. Cheaper to drink at home, closer to the toilet and my bed lol

Igotthemheavyboobs · 03/07/2020 12:31

Enough said, sadly.

To ask if you are going Out, out tomorrow evening?
TheQueef · 03/07/2020 12:32

I sincerely hope the predictions for A+E are wrong and people somehow keep a lid on it.
It'd be nice to see hardly any fallout.

I’m going in a couple of weeks with some friends and I cannot wait. The pub has set up tables socially distanced.

BikerWife · 03/07/2020 12:34

No. I'm on a late shift (nurse) but wouldn't go out anyway as all the rules would suck the joy from it and I think particularly the first weekend could be messy!

I'm on a ward, but I know our hospitals A&E is expecting to be busy.

IpanemaSunshine · 03/07/2020 12:35

Nope. Glass of wine in the garden for us.

DefConOne · 03/07/2020 12:37

I’m going to a garden gathering for a birthday tomorrow. Might head out in a few weeks when things have settled down.

PregnantPorcupine · 03/07/2020 12:38

I would love to go out out and get shit faced pleasantly tipsy but sadly there's a pandemic on and (happily) I'm pregnant. So no.

DatingDisasters · 03/07/2020 12:42

I’m not but because I think it’s going to be chaotic and I have nobody to go with. I will probably go out in a week or two, but maybe a week night instead.

CMOTDibbler · 03/07/2020 12:44

Nope. I might possibly go and have a coffee in the garden of my fave cafe tomorrow afternoon though.

cabinfever2 · 03/07/2020 12:44

Noooooo nope nope no and not for quite some time!

HappyMealWithLegs · 03/07/2020 12:44

Yes. Have a table booked in a pub with friends, will eat and drink lots. Very excited.
