The media coverage almost seems to encourage people to relax the lockdown and have a blow out!
So I'm wondering....
YABU = off out, need to let off steam.
YANBU = staying safe at home, there's a pandemic.

Anyone else being given the impression we are being encouraged here?

No, but nothing to do with the change in restrictions, I just very rarely go out on a Saturday night.

I have encouraged my DH to go night fishing so I can have a lovely quiet night in on my own, that's my idea of a great Saturday night! I work all day Saturday and love just chilling on my own on Saturday nights Grin.

SunsetBeetch · 03/07/2020 12:45

Absolutely not. It looks no fun at all, and I can't see some drunk people sticking to the rules. It's a disaster waiting to happen, imo.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 03/07/2020 12:46

I'm taking myself to the nearest available open establishment.

I can't wait to chat to someone properly Sad

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 03/07/2020 12:48

No.

I work with vulnerable adults. My boss would view me as wildly irresponsible if I went to a crowded place during a pandemic.

dontlikebeards · 03/07/2020 12:48

Going out for a few beers at tea time, can't wait! We have an outside table booked and we are in a small village. If we were city centre there would be absolutely no chance of me going near a pub.

Crocky · 03/07/2020 12:48

Nope, but if it ever stops raining and we pass a quiet beer garden on a walk with the dog I think we’ll stop for one.

TheQueef · 03/07/2020 12:48

You can't chat though Legs SD and no standing at the bar!
Two drinks in I like to chat to everybody and anybody so I'd ruin it straight away.

No but not because of the virus.

The weather is grim here at the moment and frankly, I'd prefer to be in my own, cosy house.

timeforawine · 03/07/2020 12:49

No because i have a small child and no babysitter, i am maybe going to the pub on Sunday lunch time, will see how busy it is.

Mummyshark2018 · 03/07/2020 12:49

Yes I am. 2 hour slot booked in a pub then a meal booked in a restaurant. Can't wait! I don't see how places will be rammed. Not everywhere is opened, the ones that do have reduced capacity and everyone has time slots.

ProfYaffle · 03/07/2020 12:50

Not going out yet. Looking forward to the pub again but we'll let the rush die down first. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 03/07/2020 12:51

Well technically, yeah but .... everybody'll be pissed so I'll probably get away with it Shock

whyayepetal · 03/07/2020 12:52

Not a chance. Both DDs (21 and 19) have chosen to do socially distanced meet ups with friends today instead. DH and I would love to go out for a meal, but probably won’t until well into August at the earliest. Drinks at home for all of us tomorrow Wine Grin

Buggedandconfused · 03/07/2020 12:53

No, I do t think I could cope with going to the loo queue etc

loobyloo1234 · 03/07/2020 12:53

Can't wait to go and sit in a pub garden soon ... but not just yet. I'll let the rush come and go and hopefully in the next few weeks it'll calm down a little more

vanillandhoney · 03/07/2020 12:53

I'm staying home, but not because of COVID - more because the weather is predicted to absolutely shite and my favourite pub doesn't open until Sunday Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/07/2020 12:56

No. I'm not dying for a drink.

Coffeeislife04 · 03/07/2020 12:56

staying at home .. with ginGrin

Ontopofthesunset · 03/07/2020 12:56

A few pubs near us have been doing takeaways for a while so all the people who have really wanted to go to the pub have been doing so - taking their beers to the nearby riverbank or green. I don't think things will change very much in my immediate vicinity.

actiongirl1978 · 03/07/2020 12:57

yes we are taking the DC for Sunday lunch at our local pub. V gastro pub and green wellies. I cannot wait to eat food cooked by someone else.

zingally · 03/07/2020 12:57

Absolutely not. Not because of the pandemic per se, but because I'm not 20 any more! Way too old to be going "out-out" on a random Saturday, for no special occasion.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 03/07/2020 12:59

Absolutely not. Not because of the pandemic per se, but because I'm not 20 any more!

Ouch. That's me told!

BackforGood · 03/07/2020 13:04

When it was hot, last week, I took the opportunity to socialise in gardens a couple of times. That was only with people I know (obviously!) and people that I know aren't going to lose inhibitions and start hugging one another.
It has been lovely to meet up after so long and have coffee (in the one instance) and wine (in the other) with people I've missed.
However, I see that as a small step back towards socialising, and am not ready to go and mix with people who have less regards for the advice than I do.
tbh, I don't think it sounds that enjoyable anyway - still staying apart and shouting at one another across the distance, above the noise of other people shouting at one another in their space .

AuntieMarys · 03/07/2020 13:04

Local restaurant booked 7pm. I'm currently sitting with a hair and face mask on.

redwoodmazza · 03/07/2020 13:07

No way!
