The media coverage almost seems to encourage people to relax the lockdown and have a blow out!
So I'm wondering....
YABU = off out, need to let off steam.
YANBU = staying safe at home, there's a pandemic.

Anyone else being given the impression we are being encouraged here?

Serious question. Some places are asking you to sign in on an app for track and trace. I'm not keen on this - would a burner phone work? I'm honestly considering it or swapping a sim card

Serious question - what’s your problem with it?
frustrationcentral · 04/07/2020 19:50

Nah, it doesn't appeal to me normally, never mind at the moment! Grin

It'll be nice to try and go out for a meal in a month or so, but I'm happy to wait.

EnlightenedOwl · 04/07/2020 19:57

No intention of complying with the Covid police is my issue with it! I guess the easy option is just to ignore a call or swap sim cards

SomewhereEast · 04/07/2020 20:22

We'll be at home simply as we have youngish DCs, but all the restaurants in our town are booked solid apparently (heard this from a neighbour who was desparately trying to book something!).

Sounds pretty anti social to me, don’t you care that you might be asymptomatic and infecting other people?

No

We went out for a meal to a local Italian. It felt pretty normal, the tables were well spaced and the staff had masks but it didn't affect the experience. Everyone was following the rules. We felt safe but we had a good time. I was pleasantly surprised.

Zeusthemoose · 04/07/2020 23:31

We went out for a meal and a few drinks but it was to somewhere we knew would be very quiet and it was. This place is local and struggling and we wanted to support it. All rules were complied with and it was very pleasant.

UserErrorMessage · 05/07/2020 13:14

We went out - socially distanced but a few things irked me.
They gave us a clipboard and a pen to fill out our names, telephone numbers and postcode - we saw everyone else's - data protection, poor, secondly we all touched the pen and clipboard - great Gov required vector for spreading disease.
Secondly the staff were all wearing gloves, carrying out everyones drinks and handling money with those same gloves, I'm not particularly worried about catching Covid but gloves, pen and clipboard sharing do not give me much confidence that the message is being understood.

WOW. Just wow. What an unbelievably selfish attitude.
