What is your favourite pudding?

I have so many favourite puddings but if I had to choose it would be a really decent banofee pie, with cream. I don’t understand how previous generations survived without it. They must have suffered terribly.

What’s your favourite pudding?

Has to be Cranachan the king of Scottish dessertsSmile
Also love Pavlova, Eton Mess, sticky toffee pudding and a really good trifleGrin

k1233 · 03/07/2020 08:42

Mum also makes a wicked sticky date with extra caramel sauce

woollyheart · 03/07/2020 09:00

Homemade damson pie with no added sugar except sprinkled on the top, and thick cream!

Minniee · 03/07/2020 09:10

I like a homemade Bakewell tart or brownie with raspberry's and clotted cream.

LunaNorth · 03/07/2020 09:16

Chocolate fondant.
Fruit crumble and custard.
Christmas pudding with amaretto cream.
Hot apple pie and ice cream.
Tart au citron.

Yesterdayforgotten · 03/07/2020 09:20

Gooey chocolate fudge brownie & cream
Peach melba
Warm doughy cookie and icecream

How do I choose only one?

Sorry not with you up on banofee pie, love bananas, toffee etc but together doesn't work for me.

formerbabe · 03/07/2020 09:23

Above recipe is lovely @EnthusiasmIsDisturbed and really easy to make.

JimandWilson · 03/07/2020 09:28

Any lemon based dessert is a winner. Lemon posset with shortbread maybe the favourite.

Nottherealslimshady · 03/07/2020 09:28

Homemade cake with buttercream centre and fondant icing surround. I love birthdays.

Yesterdayforgotten · 03/07/2020 09:30

Yes @Nottherealslimshady
I agree and vanilla birthday cake is the best in my opinion and it has to be homemade not the shop bought tasteless versions.

fourquenelles · 03/07/2020 09:34

I really do not get the love for creme brulee. Tasteless slop with a bitter burnt crust

Also bananas are the Devil's colon so banofee pie ruins perfectly good caramel.

I am a meringue person. Eton Mess/Pavlova/Lemon meringue pie yum

Giggorata · 03/07/2020 09:39

Raspberry Egon Mess, heavenly.😋

LadyEloise · 03/07/2020 09:46

@redwoodmazza
Do you have the recipe for the Crispy Butterscotch Pie please. It sounds delicious.

Chochito · 03/07/2020 09:48

LakieLady I have tried it but I'm not a fan of booze in desserts (or in food full stop).

Well apart from the cakes we had 35 years ago from a patisserie in Rouen, each one of which was alcoholic mouthfuls of bliss and cream and fruit and chocolate and still stick in my mind now it must be Creme brûlée. Apart from the one I made once when the saucepan hadn’t been throughly cleaned and had a slight taste of garlic.

cooliebrown · 03/07/2020 09:56

lemon meringue pie

Can only be an improvement in my eyes Wink

Baked cheesecake (the one Pizza Express used to do - it changed and it's not the same)
Or... pistachio and olive oil cake (Ask do this and it's bloody lovely) - would not have even tried it if they hadn't given it to me on my birthday - now I have it every time. Lush!

TheGroak · 03/07/2020 11:53

Cranachan isn’t pudding. It’s breakfast Grin

Gobbycop · 03/07/2020 11:54

Black.

Am I allowed to say the word black or has it been outlawed yet 🤔

overthinker91 · 03/07/2020 12:01

Creme Brulee is my deal breaker dessert. If its on the menu I will have it, regardless of my waistline!

3ImpBed4 · 03/07/2020 12:26

Jam rolly-polly with custard
Panna Cotta
White Grape Syllabub
Almond Danish
Piece of Bournville chocolate when nothing else is available!

Ishouldtryabiteachdayer · 03/07/2020 12:27

New York cheesecake ( baked cheese cakes )

I also like blackberry & apple crumble hmmmm

Something with pear and chocolate would be good, maybe a cheesecake or an pear frangripan tart ( I'm sure Pizza express used to do this back in the late 90's?)

Ishouldtryabiteachdayer · 03/07/2020 12:29

Can we go top 5 as do love a chocolate brownie, but that's not a pudding is it? Or those big ice cream sundaes you had at the beefeater when I was a kid, with cake and waffles and chocolate sauce in a huge glass ?!
