What is your favourite pudding?

I have so many favourite puddings but if I had to choose it would be a really decent banofee pie, with cream. I don’t understand how previous generations survived without it. They must have suffered terribly.

What’s your favourite pudding?

Bread and butter pudding. I'll even have it over cheese, and that's saying something

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 02/07/2020 20:21

Tiramisu. I follow a low carb diet for health reasons and can happily say no to most desserts. But not Tiramisu 😍

Badtasteflump, that’s got to be really easy to make into a low carb option. Obvs in a restaurant it won’t be, but I reckon you could knock up a homemade version that tastes amazing!

Mmm, a really good sticky toffee pudding does take some beating. Though a decent hazelnut souffle might manage it. Or possibly a creme brule. Though the best pud in the world is my mum's golden Xmas pudding.

ChinUpChestOut · 02/07/2020 20:21

Bread & Butter Pudding. Not chocolate, not with brioche, just proper bread and butter pudding with white bread.

I could eat a lot of that.

And I have the tummy to prove it

I'm with you OP. I love a good cheesecake too and also really miss the suet puddings we used to get given at school-jam roley poley or spotted dick with custard or my absolute favourite chocolate sponge with chocolate custard mmmm.

creamorwhite · 02/07/2020 20:23

Clicked on this thread to say banoffee pie!

AlwaysDancing1234 · 02/07/2020 20:25

I know it’s a bit old fashioned but Black Forest gateaux with loads of fresh cream 😋

SunsetOverEasterIsland · 02/07/2020 20:28

Absolutely love bread and butter pudding. If it's on the menu I order it. Quite like baked cheesecake or crumble too. I'd be quite happy with a starter and really lovely pudding on many occasions rather than a main meal 😁

SmallPinkBear · 02/07/2020 20:31

I was going to bread and butter, then I thought lemon meringue pie and then I thought about crumble and custard.... basically I love puddings Grin
But I hate things like cold slimy custard in trifles and creme caramels (are they still around?!)

Grumpbum123 · 02/07/2020 20:31

Affogato
Banoffee
Creme brûlée

Northernsoullover · 02/07/2020 20:31

Syrup sponge and custard but creme brulee is a close second

Exactly this! Who needs a main course
Mrsjayy · 02/07/2020 20:33

Trifle is my favourite or caramel shortcake and custard

Badtasteflump · 02/07/2020 20:43

@MarkRuffaloCrumble that's got me thinking... will have to Google. Tbh I've never had much luck making low carb desserts - most of them replace the sugar with sweetener, which has a bad effect on me ☺

Intastellaburst · 02/07/2020 20:47

Apple Charlotte with custards, or clafoutis with custard, or a gooey chocolate sponge with cream.

AdaColeman · 02/07/2020 20:56

Crepes Suzette or Pineapple Romanoff 🍍 🍊 🍍 🍊 🍍 🍊 🍍 🍊 🍍

MrFaceyRomford · 02/07/2020 20:56

Black Pudding .

Iamnotminterested · 02/07/2020 21:00

A massive chessboard, with loads of crackers, salted butter, chutney, grapes, celery and pickled onions.

altforvarmt · 02/07/2020 21:06

Queen of Puddings. My MIL makes it, and it's just amazing.

Nonononon · 02/07/2020 21:07

Another vote for Apple crumble and custard.

Whattodo121 · 02/07/2020 21:12

I love a syrup sponge with custard, or homemade apple crumble with custard. (Leftover cold apple crumble with cold milk on it is the breakfast of absolute champions)

I also love the pudding with just condensed milk, cream and lemon juice on a biscuit base. The easiest fake cheesecake in the world and unbelievably easy to make. Homemade banoffee pie is great too, but doesn’t keep well, so rarely make it as it goes a bit slimy unless it’s all eaten on the same day IME

Skigal86 · 02/07/2020 21:12

Apple crumble and custard in winter, cheesecake in summer.

The best I’ve ever had was a banoffee cheesecake at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants.

Purplemist · 02/07/2020 21:12

Hot chocolate fudge cake with double cream.

bestbrowsintown · 02/07/2020 21:13

I have a real craving for that caramel cake you used to get at school topped with custard

discombobulated2020 · 02/07/2020 21:13

A chocolate brownie with raspberry and - I think - amaretto in Jamie Oliver's restaurant. Hands down, best dessert I have ever tasted but when I returned a couple of years later, it was gone from the menu! I've never successfully recreated it at home either.
