What time do you eat dinner?

What is your preferred time for your evening meal? We’ve been drifting later and later, I don’t mind on weekends but midweek I feel between 8 and 9pm would be good. Last couple of nights were 10.30.

When do you have dinner?

Between 7:30-8? 10:30 is after the time we go to bed! But then we have children and I have a full time job with standard hours... I guess it depends on what your lifestyle dictates

Basilandparsleyandmint · 24/06/2020 20:05

countdowntonap · 24/06/2020 20:06

Between 7.30 to 9pm, but usually 8ish on weekdays

emojisarentwords · 24/06/2020 20:07

@YewandOak OP specified she was asking about your evening meal. Not the meal you have early afternoon i.e. lunch.

DelurkingAJ · 24/06/2020 20:08

DC eat with childminder in the week about 5, we eat about 9. At the weekend we do lunch as otherwise we need to eat at 6 and it all end badly (DC too hangry to eat sensibly and us snacking at 9).

Nix2020 · 24/06/2020 20:10

About five, sometimes earlier depending on the toddler. I hate eating my main meal late.

Madre1972 · 24/06/2020 20:11

Anywhere between 7-8.30 depending on work.

Longdistance · 24/06/2020 20:13

6.30pm approximately.

Naimee87 · 24/06/2020 20:13

I also hate eating late so insist on eating early between 5:00-6:00pm through the week, before they have to get ready for bed which can take aaaaaaggeeeess!

EttaJames29 · 24/06/2020 20:14

Between 7-8pm

icedaisy · 24/06/2020 20:14

8 to 9 ideally. Dh farmer though so like you OP it's been late this week. No sign of him yet either and still field infront of house to cut. Might be a plate up one for him tonight.

HalfBearOtherHalfCat · 24/06/2020 20:15

6pm here because we like to eat as a family.

Not to mention that it is only me in this household who is likely to still be awake at 10:30!

Merename · 24/06/2020 20:17

How interesting the variety! Between 5.30 and 6. Can’t imagine eating as late as some of you. Do you have late lunches those of you that eat at 9? And 10.30, wow, I’m in bed by then Grin

Nottherealslimshady · 24/06/2020 20:17

Between 5 and 6. I dont like eating before bed. I'm usually in bed for 10

GlamGiraffe · 24/06/2020 20:20

9ish. Can be later. I'd prefer it to be. I operate on spanish time!

ConstantlySeekingHappiness · 24/06/2020 20:25

Exactly the same. We have lunch around 12/12.30 during the week (WFH currently) and at weekends have just a late breakfast and an afternoon snack, so no lunch.

I would be snacking all afternoon if my dinner was late. I find if I have an earlier dinner I rarely snack in the evening.

Also early-ish to bed - 9.30ish.

SomewhereInbetween1 · 24/06/2020 20:27

Lunch at 12, dinner at 7pm ish usually, though sometimes closer to 8pm

Gatehouse77 · 24/06/2020 20:28

We aim for 6:30pm as none of us are keen on eating later.

Turtlesone · 24/06/2020 20:32

Between 8 and 9 ideally. Sometimes more like 930 but I don’t like that.

MerryDeath · 24/06/2020 20:33

i've got little kids so we have lunch at 1130 and supper at 1630! mostly. at the moment we are running an hour or so late because daddy is on leave and the weather, the lockdown, general bleeding of the routine.

GoldenHoops · 24/06/2020 20:34

Children 5.30pm. Dh, D's and D's girlfriend 8.30pm.

Lurkingforawhile · 24/06/2020 20:34

At the very earliest 6pm, usually 7pm and if eating out (Sad) I book for 7.30pm. I try not to eat after dinner now, as could easily keep eating til bedtime
