What time do you eat dinner?

What is your preferred time for your evening meal? We’ve been drifting later and later, I don’t mind on weekends but midweek I feel between 8 and 9pm would be good. Last couple of nights were 10.30.

When do you have dinner?

This is rather a repetitive conversation isn't it?

People commuting and working long hours or doing shifts ditto will eat when they can. And adapt for their children.

The south v north split tends to be the commute time though not exclusively.

Then there's family tradition. My GP with a SAHW did his own porridge but was rarely home for supper but GM would always cook something he could have when he came in. But when he was home it was 6am porridge lunch at 1200 and supper at 7. Then a cup of tea and a biscuit at 10 before bed. Ive always eaten at 8

5/6pm. I like to tidy up after, shower then pjs on and relax for the evening.

The thought of doing pots past 10 o’clock makes me feel exhausted lol X

Penners99 · 25/06/2020 20:47

Usually about 17:15 each day

CharityRoyall · 25/06/2020 22:04

Tend to have dinner around 8pm, but I have lunch at 2 and breakfast at 11 so prefer to eat late. If I had dinner at 5/6 I’d be starving by 8.30!

NataliaOsipova · 25/06/2020 22:08

If we eat with the kids, about 7.30. Otherwise, more like 8.30, which I prefer.

How so?

WorraLiberty · 25/06/2020 22:27

5.30pm seems to suit us all here.

CoodleMoodle · 01/07/2020 16:38

5:30 with the DC if DH is WFH (which he is atm), and at the weekend.

8:30ish once the kids are in bed, otherwise.

rwoollsey · 01/07/2020 17:04

Most nights it's between 6-6:30

However Wednesday is 'date night' so we eat later, on our own

IndieRo · 01/07/2020 17:18

Kids usually eat between 5pm and 6pm and me and DH around 9pm. I sit at the table with kids when they have dinner. DH works long hours, so like to wait for him to get home and we eat together when kids are in bed.

Skyliner001 · 01/07/2020 17:27

Between 6-8

Quackersandcheese3 · 01/07/2020 17:30

I prefer to eat between 5-6.

xxKatie9806xx · 01/07/2020 17:30

I eat with the kids at about 5pm. If I go out for dinner and eat later like 8/9pm I go to bed with such a stomach ache so it suits my body much better to eat earlier. I might have a snack in the evening but not a meal.

QueSera · 01/07/2020 17:31

DC 5/6pm.
Me after doing DC bedtime, chores, work (trying to fit in working full-time into nights and weekends), throwing together some food - by 10pm if I'm lucky. If it gets to after 11pm and I haven't had a chance to eat, I give up and don't eat, just go straight to bed.

JoleneExotic · 01/07/2020 17:32

Noon :P were up north. Tea is 5-7 ish.

TimeWastingButFun · 01/07/2020 17:34

Between 6 and 6.30 usually.

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 01/07/2020 17:45

6 ish because of kids. Sometimes 5.30 as it seems to work better on school days.

Rosebel · 01/07/2020 17:46

Usually about 7 but it's got later since lockdown about 8. I try not to have it later than that but since having our youngest (2 weeks ago) it is sometimes 8:30.

ErickBroch · 01/07/2020 18:03

Two of us, mid-20s, around 7:30pm at the moment

Tunnocks34 · 01/07/2020 18:27

Early here as my kids have a bedtime of 7pm. 5pm is evening meal - I often have a supper around 7.30pm when kids in bed

gigchuckedout56 · 01/07/2020 18:42

Pre kids 6.30-7.30 depending when we how in from work.

Really awkward now we have young kids, either 5.30 if eating with the kids (too early) or 8pm once they're in bed (too late!)

DariaMorgendorffer · 01/07/2020 18:54

7pm - 8pm
