Why are ASDA normalising paedophilia and Child Abuse?

Sunkisses · 16/06/2020 08:02

Is it OK for ASDA to send parents emails linking to an organisation that normalises paedophilia with red flag phrases such as "love has no age", and recommending books for children that contain explicit descriptions of child sex abuse? Why are they doing this? Are ASDA experts in home schooling and safeguarding? More details in this excellent thread by Safe Schools Alliance: twitter.com/SafeSchools_UK/status/1272638132589035520

As adults in charge they are responsible for keeping the children safe and using this material which is so clearly inappropriate and dangerous must open them up to the possibility of accusations of grooming and child abuse?

Yes, good point. And even if you didn't think the actual activity itself was harmful, any teacher delivering this to 13 year olds would constantly be a hair's breadth away from total inappropriateness.

Datun · 19/06/2020 16:05

This is their thread about Asda. I'll look for the dice thread

Datun · 19/06/2020 16:10

I can't immediately see it on safe schools alliance, but I'm sure they'll be on it.

This thread has a lot of resources, including a complete analysis of the material from transgender trend

cheeseismydownfall · 19/06/2020 16:25

@datun, thank you, that is what I have been looking for.

Jesus fucking christ the the dice game was funded by the fucking TAMPON TAX. So not only it is normalising illegal sexual activity for children (because to be clear, 13 year olds are CHILDREN) with a sinister obsession with anal sex, it turns out I FUCKING PAID FOR IT WITH TAX FROM THE NON LUXURY PRODUCTS I HAVE TO BUY BECAUSE I AM A FUCKING WOMAN.

You simply could not make this shit up. I am so fucking angry now.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 19/06/2020 16:27

Thanks Datun

Enderthedragon · 19/06/2020 16:30

The other thing this material totally fails at, is any sort of acknowledgement that there is a huge range of mental/emotional/sexual development amongst 13 year olds, both of the same sex, and then also between the sexes as well. It's such a tricky age anyway, for lots of reasons. And there are some 13 year olds who are quite mature (although it's highly doubtful their brains are ready to process their teacher telling them all about how pleasurable 'docking' can be) but some 13 year olds are still way off dealing with this kind of stuff.

endlessginandtonic · 19/06/2020 16:33

I got a you are misunderstanding email quite quickly I am hoping that the delay in responding to the second email I sent means that someone is actually thinking about the issues involved.

cheeseismydownfall · 19/06/2020 16:39

I really, really want to share this within our school community. Parents and teachers need to know what is about to happen in our school and be ready to push back. But the content is so extreme that I feel it would be inappropriate to post it on a Facebook or WhatsApp group. Where are the bloody Daily Mail???

cheeseismydownfall · 19/06/2020 16:41

Sorry, that should read in our schools (plural). I have no reason to think our school is using these particular materials. But we should absolutely be asking the question, what are they using?

Winesalot · 19/06/2020 17:08

The Baroness has written.

I’m afraid i don’t know how to link a specific tweet but the Baroness’ letter to ASDA is a joy to behold

SerenityNowwwww · 19/06/2020 17:09

Oh you nipped me to it!

Winesalot · 19/06/2020 17:13

It is a thing of beAuty. The more the merrier!

Bananabixfloof · 19/06/2020 17:14

The more fathers who are made aware of this the better
I know what you mean but isnt it utterly maddening that womens word on what is or is not appropriate is better served by men being onboard.

SerenityNowwwww · 19/06/2020 17:20

I’m going to let me BIL see this - he or very right on but this may bust his woke bubble (2 smalll kids).

Datun · 19/06/2020 17:20

You simply could not make this shit up. I am so fucking angry now.

It was the Teen Vogue encouragement of anal sex between prostate havers and non-prostate havers that did it for me.

Unfortunately, since then my rage has escalated again, and again, and again. There is no ceiling to this.

Rage is the driver in this journey. If you're not angry, you're not paying attention.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 19/06/2020 17:21

Pleased to see the Baroness's letter. Hope she gets a more thoughtful answer than the rest of us.

ShinyFootball · 19/06/2020 17:22

'So not only it is normalising illegal sexual activity for children (because to be clear, 13 year olds are CHILDREN) with a sinister obsession with anal sex, it turns out I FUCKING PAID FOR IT WITH TAX FROM THE NON LUXURY PRODUCTS I HAVE TO BUY BECAUSE I AM A FUCKING WOMAN.'

This X 10000000

endlessginandtonic · 19/06/2020 17:24

If the Baroness first response isn't,
"you've misunderstood. Lov Jon"
Then I know ASDA is classist on top of everything else 😂.

ShinyFootball · 19/06/2020 17:34

Just a quick check and sorry to sound like I am going on and on about this.

The reference to oral by a six year old was contained in book recommended in the actual material, or was it in the actual material.

We need to be absolutely clear in what is where when complaining, because we all know that if anything is even slightly incorrect, the response will be it's not even there, Mary Whitehouse, they believe anything the read about this because bigot.

cheeseismydownfall · 19/06/2020 17:37

@Bananabixfloof, I totally agree. Although I don't think it is as simple as women's views not counting - more that the people in charge of this stuff aren't stupid. They know that when something that would usually be a 'woman's issue' (i.e. anything to do with children) makes it onto the radar of men, then they really have fucked up.

titchy · 19/06/2020 17:38

She's great isn't she? Go Baroness! Grin

cheeseismydownfall · 19/06/2020 17:40

@shinyfootball, the content you are referring to is in a book that was listed in the reading list of the pack (so explicitly signposted, but not actually part of the material). The list only included four books (I think).

Enderthedragon · 19/06/2020 17:48

I’m going to let me BIL see this - he or very right on but this may bust his woke bubble (2 smalll kids).

I don't know.... Irish 'comedian' Aidan Comerford has daughters and thinks that the only people who would object to this are 'Conservative prudes who would rather children be ignorant than happy'. So I wouldn't count on anything!

Binterested · 19/06/2020 18:13

Love the letter from the Baroness. Hope Roger gets a bit nervous reading that.
