WTAF - Far right protests

I have just heard on the radio that far-right protesters will be out tomorrow in response to the BLM protesters. People are being urged not to be out in support of BLM tomorrow due to the aggressive nature of the far-right group and BLM protests are being cancelled because of them.

I am outraged by this. The BLM protesters are asking for people to not be killed due to the colour of their skin. They have rightly or wrongly made a decision to put themselves at risk of COVID-19 to help spread this message - a lot of people have called them idiots etc for doing this.

The far-right protests are now also protesting in large groups (but not in response to a murder) and are 'known' for being aggressive. How is this acceptable?

I would like to hear from anyone who is planning to join/agree with these far-right protests and their reasons why?

I agree. I think there will be unprecedented levels of violence this summer - and who will suffer the most? The police, small businesses, anyone who lives in the areas which experience violence.

Not to defend people who can't behave themselves but lockdown shouldn't have gone on this long and wouldn't have needed to if we'd have acted quicker in the first place and got a grip on it.

Once you take gyms,concerts, live football, pubs, nightclubs and nights out, shops etc etc away from testosterone fueled young males then civil disorder becomes more inevitable. 2-3 months appears to be their tipping point. Add it to a weak and inept government and it's really a perfect storm.

Absolutely, now we know the police won't protect them.

Far right is a label-goading attempt by the media to make all defense of riots, vandalism and looting of people's homes and businesses appear dysfunctional. Defending your rights and upholding the law does not make anyone far right alone.

Problem is if the police won't enforce law and order then you get vigilantes (whether you want to call them far right/veterans/patriots)

If posters read through the thread, they would see that the far-right group in question has a name, a far-right pedigree and a history of violence towards the police, and the earlier link I provided shows them doing just that! First known as the Football Lads' Alliance and then as the renamed Democratic Football Lads Alliance, don't make them out to be innocent, law-abiding citizens. It's not true.

Why are you aghast at the far right wanting to protest when the far left have been at it for over a week because of something that happened in an oh try far, far away? There are a lot of far-right posters on the site on the moment, they don't tend to come out with their affiliations, in case they get banned, but they're fairly easy to spot. Usually anti-lockdown (and yes I know not everyone anti-lockdown is far right) as per Tommy Robinson's 'Covid-19 84' campaign; they tend to talk about freedom and liberty again taken from Tommy Robinson's attempts to use free speech and civil liberties arguments to allow him and his ilk to spout their racist views; they make a lot of fuss about the MSM and the media being liars and they're generally a PITA.

The DFLA is a multi-ethnic, grass roots organisation that is not allied to any of the existing political parties. Women are invited too. They give a voice to people that otherwise have none, and gained momentum due to the frustration felt after numerous terrorist attacks and grooming gangs about which the existing institutions did nothing. They include a broad spectrum of political views and many with no particular affiliation.

Of course they were branded right - wing/fascist etc., but who cares - nobody bothers to take notice of that any more.
