Three things you love about yourself...

In light of the skinny vs fat threads, and all the doom and gloom going on in the world, I would like you to put three things you love about yourself!

Don't be modest, it could be a physical attribute, a talent you have, or the fact you make an amazing mushroom risotto. Anything really.

I'll go first:

  1. I have really full, perfect rosebud lips and straight white teeth. I love my smile in red lipstick!
  2. I've been told I'm very eloquent - I can say in 3 words what everyone else says in 100
  3. I throw a really good dinner party. When I actually make some effort it turns out I can cook. Top dish is a beef and red wine stew with wholegrain mash.

Hoping I get some replies or I will feel incredibly big headed 😂

  1. I have good skin. I've had about 3 spots in my whole life (it's the only thing I can say I like about myself physically)
  2. I've realised that people view me positively. A lot of people open up to me with things that they dont usually tell people. A lot of my friends have strangely come to me asking if I'd go into business with them in different areas (I view myself as completely useless!)
  3. In a good mum
LunaJuna · 10/06/2020 09:54

I'm curious. Always looking to learn and improve

I'm a good, non-judgmental listener

I look cute (apparently Grin)

Unfortunately if I was asked about the things I hate about myself, the list would be endless Sad

Faith50 · 10/06/2020 10:03

Great post!

  1. I have smooth skin (like baby skin dh says!)
  2. I have good legs
  3. I am choosy about the company I keep. I am not the colleague who will complain/bitch about you then in the next breath go to lunch with you. I have always had very few friends and acquaintances throughout life.
Wolfgirrl · 10/06/2020 10:23

So many good points on here! It's great to see the more unusual ones as well, I think women forget their value isnt tied up solely in the way they look or what they can do for others.

Although I too am jealous of these lustrous redheads with their perky boobs!

I look young- DS and I often get confused for siblings yet we’re 17 and 37. I’ve been told I look around 25.

I make a great beef and ale casserole.

When I try properly I can perfectly curl my hair and it doesn’t drop until the morning (plus I look hot in a body-con dress) 😂😂

SpiderStan · 10/06/2020 10:32

Ok, here goes...

  1. I am super, super resilient to just about anything. I am 4 months pregnant and was made redundant from my dream job at the end of May. The next day I had a job interview and the day after that I started my new job. Not my dream role but it has alleviated money worries.
  1. I'm so proud of how much I am able to make my partner laugh. It so heart-warming to see him genuinely happy to be in my company.
  1. I do make an amazing roast dinner!
GardenersDelight · 10/06/2020 10:35
  1. I'm able to remain calm in stressful circumstances
  2. Can usually conjour up a decent meal with whatever is available
  3. I know shit loads of useless information which makes me great at general knowledge quizzes! 😉
woodpidgeons · 10/06/2020 10:49

I have a nice nose.

I can get along with most people, I'm genuinely interested in people.

I like to learn.

HalloumiSalad · 10/06/2020 11:13

Good I am glad to see this thread. So many things to be forward about at the moment the light relief is welcome. 😊
I'm a really loyal and caring friend.
I'm building my own house, with my own hands and it's going well (never done much DIY before).
I can make my children laugh a lot.

HalloumiSalad · 10/06/2020 11:14

. 🙄 I'm rubbish at editing on my phone though. Depressed not forward.

iwilltaketwoplease · 10/06/2020 11:25
  1. I am forgiving
  2. I am head strong
  3. I make people feel happy
Mamadothehump · 10/06/2020 11:36

I'm very good at birthing babies and all of being pregnant really!

I'm a loyal friend.

I have great teeth.

Lovely thread!

Yeahnahmum · 10/06/2020 11:41

My first thought was : nothing

But now after a bit of thinking.
My hair
Never wear make up and still feel I look good/OK.
My sense of humor

BramwellBrown · 10/06/2020 12:16

I love that I am amazing at what I do, both paid work and voluntary, I'm not going to change the world but I think I've changed a few lives. People trust me and I have a real knack for finding ways to help (I work in a school with SEN children and run night shifts in a homeless shelter)

I have a great face, I have heterochromia (1 green eye, 1 blue) which I love and my skin, nose and ears are perfect - I'm really quite fat but my face sort of balances it out and gives me confidence.

I'm really proud of myself - I had a really shitty childhood, I was neglected and emotionally and physically abused, went into care, then got sexually abused eventually leading to being a teen mum, really went off the rails for a few years and lost myself but I turned it round, just finished my masters, in my dream job and have 2 fantastic kids, all I need now is a lottery win.

HalloumiSalad · 10/06/2020 12:22

Hats off to you bramwellbrown

Bathbedandbeyond · 10/06/2020 12:28

I really like my whole package. I am quite clever, quite attractive and very, very kind. I have lots of friends, an absolutely wonderful daughter and lots of hope for the future Grin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 10/06/2020 12:29

I'm a natural optimist. I always see the positives in situations and I have a happy nature.
I'm outgoing and tend to attract people to me, I have lots of friends.
I have a really striking eye colour, very bright turquoise and I get loads of compliments on my eyes.

AcornsTrustee · 10/06/2020 12:43

I have nice hands with strong nails that need cutting a lot! People often ask if they’re fake nails when they’re varnished.

Large, dark brown eyes that either mesmerise or freak people out in equal measure, which I find amusing.

I’m good at my job and have survived three redundancies so far.

theruffles · 10/06/2020 12:49

I'm really good at being organised and thinking ahead.
I have lovely thick hair.
I have always tried and I will always keep trying, even on the days where it feels hard.

SurreyHillsGirl · 10/06/2020 12:52

What a lovely, positive thread Star

I'm super capable with an abundance of common sense

I'm pretty with lovely eyes, lips and teeth, I look younger than I am and seem to be getting better with age (45)

I have a lovely body - an hourglass figure with a great bum Grin

crusheddaffodils · 10/06/2020 13:56
  1. I like my bright blue eyes and my skin tone and complexion.
  2. I have always been good with numbers and words.
  3. I am doing a brilliant job raising my children.

Thank you, OP.

suggestionsplease1 · 10/06/2020 14:52

I can bridge gaps between people.
I can explain things to students in ways that they will understand when they haven''t been able to previously.
I am easily pleased, content and optimistic.

frenchfancy81 · 10/06/2020 14:59

I have great hair.
I am very good at diffusing difficult/awkward situations and putting people at ease.
I enjoy making people happy and think of creative and practical ways to do so.

Sadbridetobe · 10/06/2020 15:06

  1. I have really nice legs (and feet).
  2. I’m a good cook.
