Three things you love about yourself...

In light of the skinny vs fat threads, and all the doom and gloom going on in the world, I would like you to put three things you love about yourself!

Don't be modest, it could be a physical attribute, a talent you have, or the fact you make an amazing mushroom risotto. Anything really.

I'll go first:

1. I have really full, perfect rosebud lips and straight white teeth. I love my smile in red lipstick!
2. I've been told I'm very eloquent - I can say in 3 words what everyone else says in 100
3. I throw a really good dinner party. When I actually make some effort it turns out I can cook. Top dish is a beef and red wine stew with wholegrain mash.

Hoping I get some replies or I will feel incredibly big headed 😂

This is a lovely thread as I've been in a bit of a negative cycle about self-image recently. So good to read what everyone loves about themselves!

1. I have beautiful hair. One of the few things I like about my appearance, it's thick and curly and golden blond. I enjoy looking after it properly.
2. I am funny, witty, and come up with the most random ideas to make people laugh.
3. I'm really good at reading poetry aloud, and I'm starting to write some.

Dont underestimate the gift that is beautiful hair! Wish I could swap my stringy blonde fuzz for thick shiny hair 😭

• Nice legs (shame about the face)

I have attractive green eyes.
I can get on with most people and always try to put myself in their shoes.
I have a calming effect on babies/dogs/ (you wouldn't believe how useful this can be sometimes)

5 years ago I'd have said my hair, but profound lack of care since having DC have rendered it a frizzy mop, sigh

• I can bake really good cakes
• I have an excellent sense of rhythm
• I'm quite calm in a crisis

@Wolfgirrl mine used to be terribly frizzy and uncontrollable until I started using less shampoo and more conditioner, argan oil, only combing it in the shower, and washing it no more than every four days. I don't do the full curly girl method or anything I just picked bits I could work with. Anyway I'm sure there's loads of good things about your appearance! Maybe your limbs obey you at all times, for example, unlike mine

That question immediately made me uncomfortable. I will answer without reading any other answers. Why is it so hard to love something about yourself? I'm struggling but, my:

Independence.
Self sufficiency.
Fingernails.

That's 2 enormous qualities you have right there. And quite rare ones at that. So you should be very pleased.

As for fingernails: mine are shit. Wider than they are long if that makes sense. Always try to hide my hands! So make sure you clap and wave and show them off!

• I am the most organised person I know and great with money.
• I'm calm and don't get stressed and flustered (on the outside anyway).
• I love and am good at painting and have found it a source of great pleasure my whole life.

Does anyone else reading these feel a bit sad that they can’t actually think of anything? Although it’s lovely to read all the positive things about everyone else, you all sound like pretty awesome women!

1. Love my dark, frizzy, fuzzy, woolly, tightly-curled, springy afro hair.

1. My independent mind and old soul - I don't go with the crowd on most things, I always see things from multiple perspectives and have been told I act older than my age since I was little, which I'm happy with.

1. My empathetic and caring nature.

That's 3 already

My hair doesn't need blow drying or straightening. It just behaves. I let it dry naturally in the evening and brush it through, no messing about.

I have nice legs.

I'm good at problem solving and very determined.

I have near perfect skin.
I am very kind and understanding.
I am very handy, DIY, crafts, I can do it all.

I truly care about animal welfare.

I am a kind person and try to look at the bigger picture of my actions and social injustice.

I can read very quickly and am good at critical analysis.
