A lot of this time has been great and a real eye opener as to how many material things we don’t need. But I’m really struggling now and feel like a treat, money’s tight but I’ve spent way less than usual, so looking for an idea on a bit of a treat. What have you bought that’s made you smile?

Lots of vegan chocolate, some passion killing but comfortable walking sandals, well fitting nursing bras.

A greenhouse

trebleclef101 · 25/05/2020 20:18

Lego. All of the lego. We're running out of storage space Grin

ZaraW · 25/05/2020 20:18

I've bought plants too. The kind which are almost impossible to kill as I don't have green fingers.

KingOfDogShite · 25/05/2020 20:19

All the plants, roses in particular.

thatsforsure · 25/05/2020 20:19

moisturising socks - i figured if I had to work from home I could wear them all day - now my cracked heels are gone and I am ridiculously happy

Destroyedpeople · 25/05/2020 20:20

Also plants

BMW6 · 25/05/2020 20:20

Vodka

Everley · 25/05/2020 20:21

Bath oil and lots of chocolate.

RaggieDolls · 25/05/2020 20:27

Tell me more @thatsforsure. I'm intrigued by this idea.

We bought a hot tub as we knew we'd have to cancel our holiday.

PoloNeckKnickers · 25/05/2020 20:28

A reversible silk kantha coat from etsy. It's coming from the US and is making slow progress but on its way. I've bought from the seller before and thought I'd treat myself.

RedRed9 · 25/05/2020 20:30

Flowers! 💐

And we’ve spent money on the garden so it’s nicer to sit in/look at.

SorrelBlackbeak · 25/05/2020 20:34

A garden sofa, 5 metres of waste pipe, a roll of black out curtain and a silent disco set.

Outdoor cinema!

cakeandchampagne · 25/05/2020 20:35

Plants Smile

TheoriginalLEM · 25/05/2020 20:36

Beer, wine, grass seed, gin and some potted herbs.

BlueJava · 25/05/2020 20:38

I've bought an embroidery kit which I'm doing, a new book every 3 weeks, some vegan soap that smells wonderful (from etsy) and bar shampoo/conditioner. Olive Magazine which I've made a recipe from today. Just small things to keep me busy but make life more enjoyable too.

Thingsthatgo · 25/05/2020 20:40

We rented a beach hut! We came up to the top of the waiting list just at the right time. It has been an absolute godsend. We shall be there every day this week.

Tootytata · 25/05/2020 20:40

Neuhaus chocolates. 10 different flavours, 60 chocolates Smile

Garden furniture. Beautiful, locally-made and comfy.
I live in the SE, so I’ll be using it 8 months of the year at least.
And lots of plants.

AnnaNimmity · 25/05/2020 20:44

Things for my house mostly. Some furniture and bits and pieces. Fresh flowers every week. had my garden done. I've also redecorated a lot of the house - we had the paint before lockdown. It just feels so nice.

Plus nice food and drink. We've spent alot of time sitting down for family meals. we cook something nice every day and bake cakes. And we've also introduced elevenses (cake and coffee) and afternoon tea (tea and biscuits) where we all stop work and eat. I can't think why I've put on weight Hmm.

I've hardly bought any clothes at all.

dudsville · 25/05/2020 20:45

Come on that's for sure, identify these moisturising socks!

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 25/05/2020 20:45

Begonias for the garden.

Really Nice shower gel

Jersey royal potatoes, asparagus, raspberries.

A royal Albert sandwich plate for my mum’s birthday. She collects this China. She puts on lovely afternoon teas for me and my 3 children. She will be 80 in 3 weeks. She lives 1 minute’s walk away. I used to see her more days than I didn’t. She is extremely clinically vulnerable and none of us have seen her since 8 March. We will give her the plate (leave it on her doorstep) and hope for better times.

Minesril · 25/05/2020 20:46

A box of 50 millie's cookies.
£50 worth of stuff from Lush.
Both were about three weeks delivery time but totally worth it when they got here!
