A lot of this time has been great and a real eye opener as to how many material things we don’t need. But I’m really struggling now and feel like a treat, money’s tight but I’ve spent way less than usual, so looking for an idea on a bit of a treat. What have you bought that’s made you smile?

Two new gerbils! Ok, they're from a rescue so not really bought.

I've also bought a subscription to a gardening magazine, a new set of pyjamas, some kindle books, some plants.

Iridescent Dr Martens, clothes for the children, prints and frames as birthday presents, clothes for me.

Lots of DVDs for my daughter, games for my son.

Too much really 🙈🙈

A Braun laser hair removal device. Though that was partly a birthday present as I had my birthday near the start of lockdown.

Our toasted sandwich maker gave up the ghost so instead of replacing like with like, we bought one with interchangeable plates that can also be a waffle iron. We all love it!

Bathroom light gave up so we rather frivolously replaced it with a bluetooth one that also plays music 😂

For the last 15 years or so I've been a total minimalist especially with clothing, I laughed when that movement came.out to par down to 37 clothing items or whatever it was I was like needs I'd have to double my wardrobe to get to that.... However I have lost a bit more weight and I've started buying clothes like 40s tea dresses and some nicer underwear. I don't know what's got into me but it is making me happy and I guessing helping keep Joe Brown and Collectif afloat 🙄😁

Bean to cup coffee machine. Wish we got one sooner.

A Chemex pour over coffee maker (really, it is just an overpriced Scandi design glass jug...) and five beautifully decorated biscuits which turned out to be seven as the Etsy seller kindly sent an extra two :) I wanted to try and create a nice moment to drink coffee rather than just mainlining it in an attempt to keep up with all the extra tasks that covid has generated.

House plants and a eufy, it's my new best friend. I have no idea how I lived without it.

@Ireolu I would love one of these. Would you mind sharing which make and model you bought and if you’d recommend it? Thanks!

A switch to play Animal Crossing. A kitchen window herb set and a bonsai set! So excited for these to arrive but they're taking ages.

I also want the moisturising socks, and comfy walking sandals. I'm turning into my mother.

A log burner, fit bit and Nintendo switch. I'm still working but this lack of a social life is doing wonders for my bank balance!

Knives 😀
I broke one last night and it was a proverbial last straw. I was considering buying new knives for the last 10 years, always thought they were too expensive.
Today it didn’t matter ( and I had more disposable income 10 years ago)

I bought a home gym multi gym machine and DH performed the miracle of assembling it within 24 hours.
I want a coffee machine but I mostly drink decaf so can I justify it?

A trampoline..Actually or was for the DCs but I've found myself using it and it does seem to cheer me up.

Also nice toiletries..I figured since I couldn't spend money on meals out, coffees etc. I might as well spend it on something nice for me.. got to keep the economy ticking over Grin
