A lot of this time has been great and a real eye opener as to how many material things we don’t need. But I’m really struggling now and feel like a treat, money’s tight but I’ve spent way less than usual, so looking for an idea on a bit of a treat. What have you bought that’s made you smile?

A new (to me) sewing machine, as my 30 year old one died Sad
Parts for my vintage Singer machine, 84 years old and going strong, so it can use modern thread spools
Fabric, far too much fabric...

I've bought a lot of clothes but in my defense, they were actually needed as I lost 3st last year.

For fun, books. Lots of books.

Well, Stuckinarut I read this thread heading and a big grin spread over my face. Why? My purchase was a top of the range meat grinder so I could make my own sausages. Being keto for a few years I miss sausages. Now I make my own and I love it! I can add whatever ingredients I fancy!

I bought a big lidded loaf tin for DH to bake sliced bread in. He usually makes amazing sourdough, which tastes delicious, but sometimes I the kids just want big slices of 'normal' bread. It was stupidly expensive, but so worth it.

So much comfort food. Also some plants from a garden mag as I've been so pleased with us for massively clearing the overgrown bits of the garden!

@speakout

I don't buy things to cheer myself up.

"Stuff" doesn't do it for me.

I will go for a forest walk, do some writing or drawing, sook some nice food.

I will never understand why people post on threads just to say they don’t apply to them.

My robot vacuum cleaner arrived this week. It is life changing :-) I have so much more time for fun stuff because he's cleaning the downstairs every night rather than having to do it myself (alongside working, home Ed etc) or encourage dcs or dh to do it.
