Will he manage to cling on?

And the reason he is vague about stopping on the way home us because he knows he did but he doesn't know what else the Guardian/Mirror have got

He ran out of downing street as his wife was ill, potentially with covid, then went back to work at no 10 few hours later Hmm

@SharonasCorona I think was actually after he passed peston. He was looking at the floor. The look smacked of "I am untouchable by the press and public"

He's too arrogant to actually apologise. He thinks he's done his bit, his little press conference. Him and Bodge treat us with contempt.
Suddenly, it was because he was hounded by the press. No, not buying that one Dominic, you have security, connections, like loads of other people in the public eye in London and elsewhere. You call the police/DS if concerned, you don't ignore "STAY HOME" and bugger off in your car. Not going to wash.

We're not as stupid as him and Bodge think we are.

What I found gobsmacking is that when asked how he feels about the fact that scientists have said more will die now as a result of his actions, he said that hopefully his explanation today will prevent that. His explanation being that he drove 30 miles to test his sight at a beauty spot. He really expects us to buy this shit.

What time did he run out of DS?

Because 27/3/2020.

He ran out of down8ng street and went home for a few hours.

He returned to work for a few hours.

We went home.

He packed enough for a family of 3 to go away for 2 weeks.

He got in a car and drove 5 hours arriving around midnight. So left London 7pm ish.

I'm going to drive to my favourite nearby castle tomorrow, because my eyesight is still a bit funny after actually having COVID-19. Its a 60 mile round trip, and being very rural I probably wont come across many people on the road. I'm going to take my family with me, as well, just for the ride.
Of course, I won't because it would be a fucking stupid idea now, and back when DC did it, would have been breaking the law

Which makes me wonder if he did indeed run out for that reason. I know it was reported, but given MW’s article, I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to spin his running out.

@Rosehip10 this for me alone is reason for him to resign, then add on all the other lies. It's ridiculous. He thought his wife had covid, he shouldn't of left the house for 14 days.

Also find it all too convinient that his car was fully fuelled. I have the car that he's regularly spotted in and

*it's a gas guzzler. If I was to do that journey in it I'd anticipate to stop for fuel.

Report
CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 25/05/2020 18:29

What is the issue with him stopping for fuel on the way back to London? He was out of the 14 days self isolation then and had apparantly been to see a doctor and cleared to drive.

There was videoof him running out. More looked like he was scared of catching from bojo. But if wife was sick and she needed help, fine, but then a few hours later to come back to no 10 and potentially infect people there. No wonder half of no 10 got this.

Report
CherryPavlova · 25/05/2020 18:31

It’s so corrupt.
Why are they letting him quote the guidance issued on 8th when he went on 1st?
Why would you put your child and wife in the car if you felt you might be unsafe to drive? Interesting it was on his wife’s birthday!

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 18:31

So ultimately, if it can't be shown he broke any law/regs then he will stay until he's dragged out.

I think he will stare everyone down and see how long the press and public will be able to stay with the story. As soon as they blink and go to something else he will know he's won.

Bet they're all working overtime at No.10 to think of a story to distract..

Such a good point that someone made earlier .... he didn’t actually make use of any of the help on offer from his sister/nieces in Durham. He drove all that way to stay in another house. So strange. The trip to Barnard Castle still baffles me. Not the town itself - nice enough place - I went to Uni in Durham... but testing your eyesight out!!! Jeez. What if he had a crash whilst he was testing? How did he test it?? Special glasses??? The whole episode has so many more questions. It doesn’t add up.....
How on earth will the police be able to enforce any regulations now? We will all be using our own judgment. Just glad mine is better than his!!

LockdownLucie · 25/05/2020 18:33

Barnard Castle is a small market town in the north not a Castle.

He is toad. Can his wife not drive. As he has admitted he has no intentions of thinking or offering his resignation he should be sacked before the end of today.

Report
Oakmaiden · 25/05/2020 18:34

Surely if you are not sure if your eyes are good enough to drive with, you don't test them by getting in your car and driving!?!

No and does this need another thread, it’s pretty disgusting the way he’s been treated and vilified by the public, it’s bullying at it’s worse!!

His explanation has more holes in it than a Swiss cheese...

In terms of the journey up there he said he arrived after midnight so it is possible that his son slept all the way up there.

Why would you go all that way to get help from family and then not actually get the help in this instance. The help was being near family. Near people that love you. I remember being very sick during my first pregnancy. We were living in the SE with no family and not many friends. We went back up to Scotland for a visit and a whole weight dropped off.
What's so difficult to understand.
