To ask whether you’d be able to get hold of drugs if you wanted to?

Just that really. I’m against drugs of any kind and wouldn’t have any idea how to get hold of any even if I wanted to. I wouldn’t have a clue who to contact and didn’t think I knew anyone else who’d have such contacts either.

Came up in conversation with DH last night whilst watching a programme about drug trafficking that he knows a number of people in the area who are able to get hold of such things (cocaine, MDMA etc) and even deliver to our door! I’m shocked. DH says that most people have the contacts to get hold of drugs if they really wanted to, which I’m not sure I believe. Am I really this naive?!

How does it get into the country in such large quantities in the first place? There are an awful lot of lorries and cars and boats and people and packages coming into the UK every day. Anywhere there is a cavity, something or someone can be stashed in it. It’s physically impossible to search everyone and everything.

My next door neighbours or DS's best mate would be able to supply weed if I were that way inclined. I used to be able to get anything from a.couple of pills to a sawn off shotgun (obviously had no need for any of them) where I once worked.

Drug dealers aren’t magically going to abide by the law because of lockdown, so of course it’s still business as usual for them. Drugs haven’t just dried up.

I don’t take anything anymore, but lots of my friends still do, could get hold of mdma, weed and coke very quickly. Anything else would take a bit longer.

I wouldn’t have any idea either. It’s just so completely not something that’s part of my life, so I have no idea. And I don’t care enough to even consider finding out either.

Yes there is plenty of weed. If you wanted harder stuff you probably need to know a friend of a friend.

Yes and no. I don't know anyone at all. But my husband is a chef and probably could. Not that he would as he is in his 40's and thinks that people who take drugs are sad gits. He's not shy with this opinon, so doubtful he'd get the number

I could nick some pretty good shit from work if I wasn't too fussed about never working again. Not a clue how I'd get it on the recreational front, nor particularly eager to find out.

So nearly 50 years of "The War On Drugs" and the only conclusion must be that the Drugs Won.

I smoke weed. I get it through a friend who has a dealer. I’ve not had any since start of lockdown and wouldn’t know where else to go tbh. It doesn’t bother me not knowing, but if we suddenly couldn’t get it from our friend then I could probably find a way, it’s not that hard.

I don't know anyone directly. I suspect if I asked a few people I know vaguely I could track something down most things in a day or two though.

And like has also been mentioned on here already apps like kik and google or the dark web would be easy ways to start.

To be honest if you live in any city you are never far away from drugs and it's relatively easy to find "dodge" people who would either be selling or point you to a seller.

Sadly yes, I could get whatever I wanted within an hour - my sibling is a drug addict.

I would however be at risk of getting grassed up to my parents 😂

I work the late shift in a shop. Plenty of the customers use drugs and I'm sure the friendlier ones would sort me out if I asked nicely.

Most of the weed sold in the UK is grown in the UK.

We have the village drug dealer and a dubious fast food outlet in the little market town some miles away.

I would know where to get it but the people I would ask would probably think I'm joking or working with the police so probably wouldn't supply it!

I do have a contact who gets me flour though so it seems I'm well connected!

All you need is to know someone who knows someone. That's how it all works, isn't it? I know someone who knows all the people who would have absolutely no interest in me (teetotal, non-smoker, no drugs) so it wouldn't be hard at all.

i could get weed very easily, at least 4 of my brother’s friends sell it. anything else i’d have to go through a friend of a friend.

I’d be spoilt for choice, I remember getting a WhatsApp from a random number at the start of lockdown with pretty much a humourous business pitch, it made me laugh, I have no idea who it is, so assume it must be one of my many less than noble associates who regularly change their burner phones but keep their numbers and send out a group text 🤣 I used to be naive, and honestly I can hand on heart say that I no LESS people who DONT take drugs than those that do 🤔
