To ask whether you’d be able to get hold of drugs if you wanted to?

Just that really. I’m against drugs of any kind and wouldn’t have any idea how to get hold of any even if I wanted to. I wouldn’t have a clue who to contact and didn’t think I knew anyone else who’d have such contacts either.

Came up in conversation with DH last night whilst watching a programme about drug trafficking that he knows a number of people in the area who are able to get hold of such things (cocaine, MDMA etc) and even deliver to our door! I’m shocked. DH says that most people have the contacts to get hold of drugs if they really wanted to, which I’m not sure I believe. Am I really this naive?!

Although it is interesting how the recreational drugs markets will have been affected by lockdown etc

I don't use drugs myself but yes if I wanted to I could have just about whatever I wanted on my doorstep quicker than I could get a takeaway

Yes of course. I don't take drugs tho so I wouldn't. I saw a post on MN recently saying oooh what are drugs peddlers going to do now in Lockdown? I really did think, how naive can you get?

As an afterthought Im in London & I've not seen a single policeman around here. Seen (very) few police cars driving along main road and that's it. Nobody's banned from leaving their home are they so I guess dealers simply found a way around it/different way to continue their trade.

I have a teenage son I'm sure he or one of his mates know the network where we live. And I've seen a few exchanges outside a local pub (obviously shut now).

I wouldn't know where to start. I mean, I am sure I must know someone who knows someone... but how to find out who that person is I wouldn't have a clue. It's not the sort of thing you can drop onto FB, is it? "Asking for recommendations"...

I can see them from my bedroom window so, yeah. I don't, as it doesn't even remotely interest me. Drugs being illegal has little effect on how many people use or how easy it is to get them, imo. Most people don't bother because they've got lives/jobs/responsibilities and you can't keep that up if you're off your face.

To add - I suppose if you are the sort of person who might want to make such a purchase during lockdown then you are probably also the sort of person who has made a purchase previously, so would know who to talk to...

I would have known how to get some sorts of drugs when I was younger (weed, ecstasy, acid, mushrooms). Have never known anyone who used cocaine and have never known how to get hold of it.

We were talking about this last night, demand is likely the same/slightly higher, but is it currently harder to bring supplies into the country?

I can get various things delivered if I wanted to, one supplier will post ready rolled joints, be interesting how much is actually weed. The usual guys are at their usual places in Soho.

I could get weed or coke within a day if I wanted too.

I know several people who get Mandy and shrooms frequently.

Oooh, DH and I were just talking about this last night - we’re watching Ozark at the moment. Neither of us have any clue how to get illegal drugs - we were both fairly tame even as teenagers, let alone now! My brother used to do drugs so I suppose we would have been able to get them from him (he died years ago, not drugs related).

Yes l could no problem. Been years since l did any type of drug but lots of friends still regularly smoke weed and do coke.

I live in a big city. None of my current friends use drugs but I do vaguely know of people on the periphery that do. Also I often smell clouds of weed round groups of young men on the street.

However I wouldn’t know how to get some. The vast majority of people don’t use illicit drugs (although it can feel like they do if you are doing it). You can’t just walk round asking random people to buy drugs from just because you think they have some, unless you know them very very well. Or unless you want to risk getting your head kicked in.

If you’re not involved in those sections of society then I don’t think it would be that easy, so no, I wouldn’t know how to get hold of some.
