To ask whether you’d be able to get hold of drugs if you wanted to?

Just that really. I’m against drugs of any kind and wouldn’t have any idea how to get hold of any even if I wanted to. I wouldn’t have a clue who to contact and didn’t think I knew anyone else who’d have such contacts either.

Came up in conversation with DH last night whilst watching a programme about drug trafficking that he knows a number of people in the area who are able to get hold of such things (cocaine, MDMA etc) and even deliver to our door! I’m shocked. DH says that most people have the contacts to get hold of drugs if they really wanted to, which I’m not sure I believe. Am I really this naive?!

I technically know where I can get some because I see young lads dealing on my way to work on a morning. However, I’m sure if they saw a dowdy 50 year old woman coming up to them ( “ Excuse me? May I see your catalogue of drugs please?”) they’d laugh in my face or tell me to do one.

It's not something I've ever done (or am interested in doing) but would have some idea who/where to ask via work associates and DH friends.

Yea I know a few people who'd be able to get it for me should I want to. I never have though. Dh is an ex-heroin user (been clean for 20+ years) and is still in touch with some of his old contacts. My dad smokes weed. My brother-in-law knows and is friends with several people who could easily get anything you ask for.

Never taken drugs in my life, but I know people who have access.

And DP once pointed out the best corner for drug dealers in our area 😂

I often wonder if other dealers do feel cool and dangerous? I was just bloody terrified all the time until I got caught.

I used to be like you, OP. Went through university with absolutely no clue how I would get them, even! Lived in London - knew some people who took them, but I didn't know where they got them from. They weren't dealers.

Then I moved to a small village where everyone knows everyone, and now I know of numerous people who are dealers. Just through visiting the pubs, overhearing things, being around drunk people who are saying more than they should. I wouldn't necessarily know how to get in touch with them in order to get drugs, but I see them regularly in the street (obvs not right now).

I haven't ever taken them though!

According to DH's friends, a few years ago if you were to phone up the local takeaway and ask for the "50 special", the late teen/early 20's delivery girl in the flash BMW would deliver you a bag of cocaine with your food order. Presumably for £50?
