Hi all
dont do LOA constantly but it has worked a few times.
We have been trying for a baby for 4 months and this I wrote it in my notepad I will have a baby in Jan 2021 after finding out I am pregnant the end of April...yesterday the 30th April I got positive test! And they are getting stronger today. We only had sex twice this month just shows! I also made a mind movie on my phone of preg ladies and babies and watched it everyday for visulisation the universe has listened!!

Congratulations on the baby.

What is LOA and how does it work? Can i ask the universe to stop my DH mouth breathing?

Forgivenandsetfree · 01/05/2020 13:55

Good for you! I did a very similar thing with the house I have now, I instantly knew I wanted it and as a single pregnant lady I had to hope, pray and will it to happen...I just felt it would.
3 weeks before I gave birth, I moved in! 2 years later and I still love it

Laurend0603 · 01/05/2020 13:55

😂😂😂 if you google it and the book the secret it's all about attracting what you want to you thanks for the reply 1😊

That's great it really works I need to attract a better house now! X

Congratulations on your pregnancy, OP, but as you must know perfectly well, you got pregnant almost as soon as you started trying because you had unprotected sex and are fertile.

KirstyHasLeft · 01/05/2020 13:59

Yes. I have been dreaming of a beautiful country cottage with a garden - had a whole board of pictures on pinterest. But living in central London - a cottage was quiet a wild dream. About 2 years later I moved into a wonderful cottage with a garden in central London! We were very incredibly lucky to get it and I still have to pinch myself.

BooFuckingHoo2 · 01/05/2020 14:01

Honestly I think this is highly insensitive on a forum where many women are suffering from infertility.

You got pregnant because you were fertile and had unprotected sex not because of any law of attraction.

ouch321 · 01/05/2020 14:09

This whole thing has always had cultish overtones to me.

HailHydra · 01/05/2020 14:11

Law of Attraction is absolute woo nonsense

Palladin · 01/05/2020 14:16

LOA is a stupid concept believed by dumb people.

AllianceOfCorcles · 01/05/2020 14:18

I believe in loa I know it sounds nuts but I think the secret works.
I visualise how my interview for would for my dream job this year and it played out exactly as I’d hoped :)
Maybe it’s just giving you positive feelings insides and that’s having an effect I don’t know?
I would say the happiest, most popular people I’ve come across tend to be believers in it.

Voxx · 01/05/2020 14:20

Logically, you must know that this is utter nonsense? If you think about it critically for a nanosecond it’s clearly bollocks.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. It happened because you are fertile and had unprotected sex.

acatcalledjohn · 01/05/2020 14:21

There is no such thing as law of attraction. It is simply a method used by brainwashing cults and pyramid schemes to keep their victims in their claws.

I have said a million times I would win the lottery. I have been house shopping on Rightmove with my winnings. I have been so positive in my thoughts, and...

Nope. Nothing.

Congrats on your pregnancy OP, but all of this really is coincidence.

CodenameVillanelle · 01/05/2020 14:23

Congratulations on your pregnancy but you're dumber than a box of rocks if you think it happened because you wrote it in a book

HolyWells · 01/05/2020 14:23

I would say the happiest, most popular people I’ve come across tend to be believers in it.

Snort. Because they read a dimwit book which preaches that if you are poor, ill, unemployed, homeless or unpopular you just didn't think about world domination and a shiny car hard enough, and then went around writing I AM POPULAR, EVERYONE LOVES ME in their little notebooks?

MouthBreathingRage · 01/05/2020 14:28

I visualise how my interview for would for my dream job this year and it played out exactly as I’d hoped

You had self confidence, which is half the battle won in an interview. So nothing to do with the universe. The op had unprotected sex, many women only take a few tries before getting pregnant in such a way - again not a shocker. It is insulting to those who are having difficulty getting pregnant to imply that perhaps they're just not visualising it enough. Maybe they should pray harder as well....

Badoukas · 01/05/2020 14:33

Congrats on the pregnancy. I've read "The Secret" and viewed a few of author's YouTube videos. Gotta admit, selling positive thinking and becoming fabulously wealthy by focusing on that sure worked for her!

stiffchain · 01/05/2020 14:33

The only time I've ever heard that phrase before was when spouted by MLM bots peddling their snake oil.

JasperRising · 01/05/2020 14:41

The problem with the law of attraction is the implication that if you you are going through a horrible time in your life then it is because you aren't positive enough. Which is just bullshit and victim blaming.

That is not say that positivity, goal setting and visualisation are bad things in themselves. Visualisation has a place in competitive sports and goal setting (in an achievable and measurable fashion) helps lots of people. And they can all build confidence which as a pp said can then lead to success in interviews etc. But the universe does not give you things be made you 'attracted them to you'.

1555CC · 01/05/2020 14:51

Hi all dont do LOA constantly but it has worked a few times

It's failed to work a lot more times but you don't remember those. Classic confirmation bias, you remember the hits and ignore the misses.

Have you ever phoned someone and they've said "wow, that's spooky, I was just thinking about you"?

Now, have you ever phoned someone who has said "why the fuck are you calling, I wasn't even thinking about you"? Of course not. I rest my case. And those same people say "It's really spooky, often if I'm thinking about someone, they phone me!" Forgetting all the other times.

It's all nonsense.

But what it can do is change your actions. Thinking you will win the lotto won't make you win the lotto, but it might make you buy a ticket. And if you don't buy a ticket, you definitely won't win the lotto.

RainyAfternoon · 01/05/2020 14:52

FudgeBrownie2019 get your husband to listen to this podcast It might help!

1555CC · 01/05/2020 14:54

But the universe does not give you things

The universe doesn't even know or care you exist. The universe was going for 10 billion years before our planet even existed, and will be going for trillions of years after the Earth has been swallowed up by the sun.

1555CC · 01/05/2020 14:57

Yes. I have been dreaming of a beautiful country cottage with a garden - had a whole board of pictures on pinterest. But living in central London - a cottage was quiet a wild dream. About 2 years later I moved into a wonderful cottage with a garden in central London!

So...NOT a COUNTRY cottage then.

Ffs!!!

1555CC · 01/05/2020 14:59

Honestly I think this is highly insensitive on a forum where many women are suffering from infertility.

But did you write in a book "I don't want to see anymore insensitive threads". If not, then that's where you've gone wrong Grin

OlaEliza · 01/05/2020 15:03

Jesus Christ, if only I'd known about this sooner! I wouldn't have wasted 4yrs trying to get pregnant 🙄
