Other deaths being recorded as Coronavirus

Hello, my friend is a nurse. She told me that she is questioning the deaths which are being recorded as Coronavirus. She said that she had a patient dying of Cancer, but it was recorded as Coronavirus

I saw another nurse here on mumsnet say the same thing. She said that she had a patient that was dying of cancer, but they recorded it as Coronavirus.

What do you think?

@Lemonblast...She is talking about me. It was my patient who died. This patient wasn't up walking around or talking then got worse and ied. That didn't happen. This patient was on hospice meaning he was no longer receiving any kind of care. No nutrition, all of his medicine was stopped except for pain relief, family at his bedside etc....No way should we have been told to list his cause of death as Covid in his chart and on that note my own case of Covid should not have been recorded for my home county. I didn't contract it in my county and hadn't even been home in 3 weeks so why was it recorded in my home county that is over 200 miles a way? To people saying report it to your governing authority? What goverment authority? I am not saying that Covid isn't bad or that people aren't dying from it. That would be extremely stupid because of course they are. But Brits have been saying that your goverment is only counting hospital and nursing home deaths and then we have at least 2 Americans on this site both saying they are questioning the death rates because if you die after testing positive you are automatically being classified as a Covid death. This man had no nutrition for over a week. He had none of his usual medicarions for over a week. His family was at bedside waiting for him to die, his death certificate was already filled out except for date/time and then they changed it to a Covid death....Makes no sense whatsoever

@Slashover I have no one to report it too

Bluntness100 · 21/04/2020 12:58

Also people quick to throw around the words 'conspiracy theorist' when people question anything they've been told

What does this even mean? We’ve been specifically told there is an overlap, we have been told why they record deaths as they do, they have always done it this way. Scientists and governments globally have addressed the overlap between those who die because of Covid v with it and how it confuses the true picture of how deadly it is. What’s to question ? It’s not a new practice. It’s how it’s always been done and how it’s done in many many countries.

cupcakehurricane101 · 21/04/2020 13:03

So if someone has covid 19 but has a heart attack, they died of a heart attack? Not covid 19?

cupcakehurricane101 · 21/04/2020 13:05

They test positive for covid but have no symptoms, but have a brain hemorrhage? It's a brain hemorrhage as cause of death?

Lemonblast · 21/04/2020 13:09

‘I have noone to report to’

Complete and utter bullshit Confused

What colour of socks is the OP wearing these days?

SpoonBlender · 21/04/2020 13:10

What I find so hard to believe is that many oeople on here believe that the government would never lie to us about anything, that the government would never be corrupt about anything.

No one believes the government. They're clearly lying about all sorts of things - they're regularly being lambasted for it. They weren't including non-hospital Covid deaths. They're now including some care home data, but are still not including other data.

They lied about not joining in with the EU ventilator sourcing. They lied about who was at the COBRA meetings. They lied about Brexit. They lied about not having money for the NHS. They lied about Covid tests. They lied about austerity. They lie about whether they can tie their own shoelaces or organise pissups in breweries.

You're making this "everyone believes the government" line up to feed your conspiracy needs. You have an actual mental health issue that you need to pay some attention to.

LilacTree1 · 21/04/2020 13:10

Patrick Vallance said himself, in the briefing, that deaths were recorded as Covid 19 with no test.

if you Advanced Search my posts, you will find it. Sorry, I cba.

Foobydoo · 21/04/2020 13:11

Statistics from ONS released today suggest the opposite is happening.
Deaths are being massively under reported.

Zilla1 · 21/04/2020 13:15

Cupcake, it depends, if someone is in ITU then the 'strain' of COVID can cause death by heart attack or brain haemorrhage. How do you think people die in ITU?

Even outside ITU, it appears COVID could be related to death by heart attack. www.scientificamerican.com/article/heart-damage-in-covid-19-patients-puzzles-doctors/
It's certainly being looked at for brain haemorrhage too
www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2052297520300214

Also, in the community, it appears some crises are caused by COVID but don't present after a flu-like respiratory illness.

And no, that doesn't mean I think every heart attack or brain haemorrhage is caused by COVID.

tiredanddangerous · 21/04/2020 13:16

I think it’s far more likely to be the opposite. The Government want to keep the figures as low as possible!

Meadows20 · 21/04/2020 13:18

I'm amazed the amount of people that don't know this is how death certs work - if a cancer patient dies because they contracted pneumonia or sepsis, those are put as the primary and the cancer secondary. It helps infection control understanding what terminal patients catch and could die from? How can you learn what protection you put in place if you don't know the infection contracted that killed them?

It's always been this way - if an infection is caught that sadly helped someone along then it's always put as the primary.

Meadows20 · 21/04/2020 13:25

Also this hoo-hah about 'controlling us' - economically that makes no sense. What government wants to be paying 80% of people's wages? Or see a sudden increase in UC? Or GDP drop through the floor whilst public spending sky rockets? A self sufficient country is a profitable country - a large percentage of the population being reliant on a government is economic suicide. Personally I can't what benefit it has to any government to do this to 'control us'.

Annamaria14 · 21/04/2020 13:30

@Meadows20 they are not paying 80% of everyone's wages.

Many people have lost their jobs totally, and gone on unemployment

OP posts:
Annamaria14 · 21/04/2020 13:31

@Lemonblast you do reaise that @Leaannb is not the OP?

OP posts:
Meadows20 · 21/04/2020 13:31

I didn't say everyone - I also mentioned an increase of applications for universal credit due to those being made unemployed.

@Meadows20 okay you don't think they are controlling us.

What benefit has this had for any of us?

Because all I see is numerous human rights being taken away. I see alot of people struggling from lack of social contact, suffering from ill mental health.

That in itself, is control

OP posts:
Lemonblast · 21/04/2020 13:37

Impersonating health care professionals on the internet?
Say it ain’t so Grin

Annamaria14 · 21/04/2020 13:38

@Meadows20 at the very least, the Government completely over reacted, with no thought given to people's economic, mental or social wellbeing.

I think that there will be alot of complaints, once this is over

Annamaria14 · 21/04/2020 13:38

@Lemonblast yeah i know - it is a very strange thing to do.

Hello, my friend is a nurse. She told me
Invariably the start of a post full of bollocks.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 21/04/2020 13:39

What benefit?

They aren't paying anyone's wages?

It's all made up so we all go stir crazy?

Really?

SpoonBlender · 21/04/2020 13:41

Standard conspiracy theorist reaction, go ad-hominem and accuse anyone who's pointing out the flaws in their ideas of, well, anything.

Glad you read my post. I notice you totally didn't comment on the bulk of it where I point out the flaws in your ideas. Well done!
