DH won't stop playing with himself

This is semi light hearted, but this habit has been getting on my nerves in these fractious lock down times.

DH ALWAYS has his hands down his trousers, 'fiddling' with his bits when we are sitting on the sofa. It's not sexual, he isn't masturbating, and isn't erect, but basically the whole time we are watching tv or talking he will just be fiddling with himself, I don't know how else to describe it.

He's done it for years and I've mentioned it a couple of times, he just says he finds it comforting and gets a bit annoyed if I mention it or says I'm nagging. Just recently when we are trapped indoors together it's REALLY started to annoy me and I don't know why. I just find it a bit impolite? I have no issue with him masturbating properly in private, or scratching himself if he has an itch, but he'll just do it for ages and doesn't even have the decency to hide it under a blanket! ARGH. So IABU and a prude?

I can't believe that people are excusing this as 'a man thing'! Civilised men (or even boys) do not behave like this.

merryhouse · 20/04/2020 18:48

"George, what have I told you not to do?"

"Well, don't do it."

cushioncovers · 20/04/2020 18:49

My ex used to do this and then smell his fingers. I hated it.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/04/2020 18:49

Get the twat a cock-patch then.

PMSL! Grin

Nanny0gg · 20/04/2020 18:49

@Howfar12
I don’t see any problem with it

We get that. We are also grateful we don't live with you.

Nogoodusername · 20/04/2020 18:50

Gross. When my son was 4 I used to have to tell him that he could touch his penis in private, not in front of me/dad/sister etc - I’d be horrified if I had to tell DH the same thing!

1forAll74 · 20/04/2020 18:50

It's gross, and especially if you have to witness this crummy habit. I would associate it with a bit of a half wit man. Get the man into some knitting, if he needs to occupy his sticky hands while watching the telly.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 20/04/2020 18:53

Do we need to find some sort of 12 step anti ball fondling program for Howfar?

Do what you like when you're by yourself, but in front of other people, no. If you must have something to fondle at all times get a squeezy toy that doesn't live in your pants.

EmeraldShamrock · 20/04/2020 18:56

Men who were allowed to form the habit as young boys do it. I blame the parents. Grin
He is old enough to retrain himself.

cakemeupbeforeyougogo · 20/04/2020 18:57

@FizzyGreenWater and that's ' just such a minging habit to have.

'Minging' 😂😂

EmeraldShamrock · 20/04/2020 18:58

Are his parents the sort that would have gone OTT about him holding himself as a small child do you think? Obviously not or he'd stop I think it was the opposite. Do you have DC?

Yellowsubmarinedreams · 20/04/2020 19:00

That's disgusting. I hope he washes his hands a lot. I wouldn't be able to cope with that its so juvenile.

EmeraldShamrock · 20/04/2020 19:00

@cushioncovers 🤮 I'm glad he is an ex.

Yellowsubmarinedreams · 20/04/2020 19:01

@cushioncovers that is foul Shock

cushioncovers · 20/04/2020 19:03

Yep so am I Smile

MotherOfAllNameChanges · 20/04/2020 19:04

@ExclamationPerfume lol at spraying him with zoflora 🤣🤣🤣

Millicent10 · 20/04/2020 19:06

Agree with the suggestion of getting him to rub his hands in chillis to put a stop to this disgusting habit. My mum did this with my brothers thumbs to stop him sucking them, as he was still sucking them at about 7/8.

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 20/04/2020 19:09

I do this with my boob. Blush

TheWordmeister · 20/04/2020 19:11

It's such a puerile activity, like nose-picking.

I assume his parents never told him not to do it and now he's just an overgrown toddler who sees nothing wrong with it.

CalleighDoodle · 20/04/2020 19:13

@Justaboy To those whod say my man dosent do it its somethig normally done when your on your own! That’s completely different. Doing it while you're in company, while someone is having a conversation with you, is disrespectful. Would you want someone picking their nose while you were talking to them?

Sparklingbrook · 20/04/2020 19:16

it’s like smoking, drinking, talking too much

It really isn't.

Greenpop21 · 20/04/2020 19:24

Does he manage to control it when you have visitors or when you’re out or he’s at work? I guess he does, so he’s just treating you badly. No way would I be with a man like that.

IdblowJonSnow · 20/04/2020 19:27

My dh never does this.
Someone I used to work with couldn't leave his nob alone, he was always rubbing it through his trousers. I used to wonder if he had an infection or something as it seemed like it was itchy Envy

fuckoffImcounting · 20/04/2020 19:27

Scratch your bumhole and then offer to make him a sandwich.

TwistyHair · 20/04/2020 19:29

No acceptable and a total turn off. Like being married to child
