Hello, Advice please, but she is doing my head in.

I have already reported this neighbour to the police last Monday as she has had her family round, her boyfriend who doesn't live with her and now for the last week her friend is round her house everyday using the her gym in the garage. shes not hiding anything either its in full view of other people walking past and other neighbours.

Do I report her again to the police?

I’m sure I read somewhere that the police will not investigate every time someone reports a breech of the ‘rules’ as 1- they literally don’t have time to visit Ethel down the road cause she dared to walk the dog twice and 2- because it was clear many people had grievances with their neighbours and were only too happy to report them for anything minor! Grin

vodkaredbullgirl · 20/04/2020 15:55

Why the fuck post on here then about it, if you dont like the answers.

ilovedjerrymore · 20/04/2020 15:56

@vodkaredbullgirl exactly! Someone is upset that hardly anyone agreed with her! Grin

I don't understand this busybody mentality, I really don't. I'm frankly too unobservant and too busy to give a shit about what others are doing.

TheQueef · 20/04/2020 15:59

Spanner.

As long as she is out clapping the NHS every Thursday she can do what she likes the rest of the time. That's the rules.

Suzeyshoes · 20/04/2020 16:12

Don’t worry OP. I get where you’re coming from. I certainly don’t think you’re nuts and think disparaging somebody who has genuine, founded fears is a shitty thing to do. I get incredibly angry at those flouting the guidelines. DS is vulnerable, I’m a key worker, DH works in the pharma industry, so am sick of ppl who are putting us all at risk despite those who are putting in efforts. You’ve literally got NHS workers pleading for ppl to stay inside.
Stupid government should have been more forceful with guidelines like in other countries instead of ‘trusting people’s own consciences’.

Nelliana · 20/04/2020 16:15

Lovely. This really has brought out the worst of the authoritarians amongst us. Sitting at the window, spying on the neighbours, ready to report them. Go and read a bloody book or something. Take your mind off of what everyone else is doing 😠

MarginalGain · 20/04/2020 16:17

Your poor neighbours.

Suzeyshoes · 20/04/2020 16:19

@nelliana Or come on here and have a go at someone who has genuine fears. You’re right, it certainly has brought out the worst in a lot of ppl. There’s a lot of bullies on here.
@allinboxes hope it all calms down. Seriously, blank out the nasty bitching. They’re whinging about you having nothing better to do but seemingly have nothing better to do than bitch at you Grin

Advice please

Mind your own business

LagunaBubbles · 20/04/2020 16:26

To everyone who says it's none of someone's business care about what's actually going on? You are all part of the problem this virus is spreading, it duesnt move by itself it needs people and that's why the guidelines are what they are. If people are breaking them then I wouldn't hesitate to report them. I've never seen such a bunch of selfish people replying to a thread like this. I actually wonder why all of us in the NHS bother risking our lives when so many people are still hell bent on bending rules. And do much crap about none of your business, busybodies on this thread, it's everyone's business to slow down the rate of infection, to protect lives and make sure the NHS can cope. Selfish, selfish people.

LagunaBubbles · 20/04/2020 16:29

Over 100 health and social care workers have now died. Everyone on this thread saying its none of our business disgust me.

I can find you shedloads of articles about nurses etc being abused because their neighbour thought they shouldnt be out

Care workers Being abused in supermarkets cos they are shopping for the care home and fellow shoppers think they are stockpilers

I’d have to be fucking sure of my facts before i either confronted someone (i know the OP isn’t doing that) or called the police

allinboxes youve done what yoU feel you should Do, I wouldn’t contact the police again...if they are doing nothing its because they don’t want to

underthepatio · 20/04/2020 16:39

Really OP? You must realise that unless your neighbour is your MIL, a dog-owner or a step mother everyone on MN will support her.

allinboxes · 20/04/2020 16:42

I am sat at my large window because I am disabled, from here I connect with the outside world as currently I cannot get out of my home due to what is happening with covid. The care I receive has been massively affected because of this and I see a key worker not giving a shit about what she is doing which does affect everyone in my community, the nhs and me.

So no I wont crawl back under the bridge @vodkaredbullgirl because I can't crawl. And no I don't go out to clap for the NHS @JigsawsAreCool because I cannot do that either without someone to help me. I do it from my wheelchair next to my large window. Now stop bullying me and go and so something useful than hurl insults at strangers on the internet.

Well obviously not everyone

One assumes youre not, or me, or laguna

ilovedjerrymore · 20/04/2020 16:43

@LagunaBubbles yes I do care about what is actually going on thank you. As I have already mentioned on another post I have had a relative die last week from coronavirus! I also have key workers in my family, who also agree the snitching is wrong!
The whole snitching on neighbours is beyond a joke and wasting valuable police time, a massive party in the newspaper for a 18th birthday party last week that had over 30 people in attendance was correct to be reported, having a boyfriend visit or someone use the gym is very different!

vodkaredbullgirl · 20/04/2020 16:47

Op excuse me for not knowing you are disabled.

@LagunaBubbles I do care, im a key worker and all my collegues are trying our hardest to keep covid19 out of our care home.

Yogawoogie · 20/04/2020 16:47

Maybe use the online report thing. Personally I probably wouldn’t but that probably says more about me than you.
It is frustrating especially when we are all trying so hard.

DysonFury · 20/04/2020 16:50

Police aren't going to bollock what is essentially one of their own. No chance.

Dieu · 20/04/2020 16:50

@LagunaBubbles

It's the fault of the people who are breaking the rules in the first place! Not the fault of those who don't report. If everyone just followed the rules - as you and I and I'm sure the others on this thread do - then there wouldn't be any need to grass in the first place!
