Spoons then forks then knives

In your cutlery drawer, do you have spoons on the left, then forks, then knives? That makes sense to me because when you lay them out on the table it's forks on left and knives on the right. My DH puts them away (wrong) as knives on left then forks then spoons, just because he says it sounds right- when you say, 'knives, forks, spoons.'
I'm fully aware of the current world problems which are affecting us all terribly. This is still important😉

It's forks, knives, spoons !
Like setting the table for a meal with soup starter

There are usually additional little compartments for little dessert spoons & forks
plus big compartments for serving spoons & forks

Toseland · 19/04/2020 01:12

Knives, forks, spoons, teaspoons here.
My Mum used to say “Ooo crossed knives!” and quickly uncross any knives that fell crossed on the table. She believed they forewarned of arguments.

steff13 · 19/04/2020 01:13

I do knives, forks, spoons, but that's because that's how my organizer thingy is set up. 🤷

TeamLannister · 19/04/2020 01:19

We do it your way. Which is how my mother did it, so it must be right. She knew things.

RosesandIris · 19/04/2020 01:21

Knives, forks, spoons, teaspoons in my house too.

RosesandIris · 19/04/2020 01:22

Sorry I meant forks, knives, spoons. It’s late...

YourWinter · 19/04/2020 01:23

Mine is spoons, forks, knives, soup spoons facing the opposite way to dessert spoons. I only have three soup spoons.

Redglitter · 19/04/2020 01:23

So many people getting it wrong. It’s forks, knives, spoons. Obvs

Absolutely! It's the only way that makes sense

YourWinter · 19/04/2020 01:24

I mean soup spoons are in the same spoon slot...

Aveisenim · 19/04/2020 01:31

Forks, knives, big spoons, small spoons at the bottom horizontal (opposite directions because different spoon types.... lol) because of how the tray is.

CSIblonde · 19/04/2020 01:42

Spoons, forks, knives as I use spoons & forks the most. Large prep knives on left of cutlery tray as its too small for them & I don't like large knives on display on surfaces. .

RainbowMum11 · 19/04/2020 01:53

Knives forks spoons - I am left handed though!

CorianderLord · 19/04/2020 01:54

Right to left
Steak knives, knives, fork, spoons.

CorianderLord · 19/04/2020 01:54

Wait no, that's left to right

TeeniefaeTroon · 19/04/2020 02:21

I'm with your husband (not literally 😁)

Times10 · 19/04/2020 02:36

Spoons forks knives... and I get annoyed when DH sometimes changes the order. Teaspoons are in the front, just because of the layout of our cutlery drawer, but if they were all side by side, I think I’d have them next to the knives, so both spoons don’t get mixed up.

KrakowDawn · 19/04/2020 02:46

Knives, forks, spoons.

TomPinch · 19/04/2020 02:51

In my drawer it varies. There are frequent swaps and invasions. I thought that normal.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/04/2020 03:29

Forks go in the middle, we are all agreed on that.
Knives are held in the right hand so obviously they go on the right.*
Spoons are all that's left, so that's where they go.

*Left handed people may arrange their drawers differently.

strawberrysweets · 19/04/2020 03:41

I ageee with you!

But my drawer organiser even has pictures of what should be where...

I ignore it because it's clearly wrong 🤣🙈

LittleMissBumFun · 19/04/2020 03:45

Spoons Forks Knives and then tea spoons and kids cutlery run horizontally across the bottom in our tray

Picassoh · 19/04/2020 04:09

Forks, knives, spoons.

HollaHolla · 19/04/2020 04:11

Forks, knives, spoons, L to R.
I’ve worked in restaurants, and that’s how I’ve always seen it done. Makes sense, as that’s how you’d lay them out (well, dessert spoons and dessert forks at top.)
If someone else took it upon themselves to rearrange my drawers, they wouldn’t be back in my house. It’s beyond rude and aggressive. I wouldn’t assume to do that in anyone else’s house.
I just don’t get it.

SnowsInWater · 19/04/2020 05:44

You are right 😊

Oysterbabe · 19/04/2020 05:48

Forks, knives, spoons.
