To think this doctor really really hates mumsnet

Glad he’s got his priorities right in the middle of a pandemic. He’s really, really want to see mumsnet closed down and has a fair following - even been on telly

He’s a common or garden misogynist

Yes, there is nothing particularly special about him, just another old fashioned woman hater dressed for the current hobby horse. Just like Jones and St Doc Christian, both of whom have form for misogyny which predates the current trans debates.

The misogynists will ride this horse until it fails then find another one and cheerfully leave the people actually trying to cope with gender dysphoria to rot.

DocHolliday · 17/04/2020 09:01

What happened to him after he reportedly faked that prescription? I was so shocked that a GP would do such a thing.

Why does he constantly get away with stuff like this?

Does he hold some compromising information/photographs on someone in the BMA? The mind boggles.

Why do they keep letting him off with this awful behaviour?

A trolling medical doctor who seems to really hate women, and seemingly allowed to do so publicly, without sanction, by the people who are supposed to regulate the profession. What's going on here?

ShiveringCoyote · 17/04/2020 09:04

I wonder did he audition for cbeebies and lost out to MN favourite Dr Ranj? Thus starting an irrational hatred towards woman and "it should have been me" complex.
Or hes just another misogynist. A trans phobic one who does not see trans men as men.

WrathofFaeKIopp · 17/04/2020 09:18

Dr Harrop wants Mumsnet shutdown because he hates women speaking.

I really cannot believe a doctor who publicly hates women so much gets away with it.

justanotherneighinparadise · 17/04/2020 09:19

Has he had anything to say about Pink News struggling financially in the same manner during this shit storm?

Zhuleva · 17/04/2020 09:22

He is manic when it comes to trans issues. Have a look at him arguing with Posey Parker on YouTube. He's a swivel-eyed loon.

And I hope he's reading this.

justanotherneighinparadise · 17/04/2020 09:28

I just posted this on the other thread but to widen the audience of just how important it is to support a cooperative of dairy earners right now I’ll copy and paste here too.

‘This has been a fantastic learning curve for me. I really hope Arla reads this thread.

I had absolutely no idea that they were a cooperative of farmers. My god that needs supporting!! I was reading yesterday about Freshways grinding dairy farmers into bankruptcy. I’ll go and find the article to link. I have until tonight to update my Tesco click and collect order. I’m going to change all my milk to Arla products (Cravendale I believe but I will google to be certain). I had just chucked in standard Tesco milk but I’m guessing that’s coming from Freshways.’

justanotherneighinparadise · 17/04/2020 09:29

*dairy farmers

Defenestratethecat · 17/04/2020 09:37

Yes, good one Harrop, attacking a website aimed at supporting women, especially mothers, and attacking a dairy cooperative at a time when many dairy farmers are struggling and having to destroy thousands of litres of milk because their usual outlets aren't buying it. Stupid, selfish one trick pony with absolutely no understanding of any view but his own misogynistic narrow one. Utterly despicable.

DocHolliday · 17/04/2020 09:41

I'm really impressed with the way Arla dealt with the trolling.
We are Skyr and Cravendale fans in this house, always support co operatives.

But then Arla know the difference between dairy cows and bullshit.

Cow (noun) A fully grown female animal

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 17/04/2020 09:43

^Wow - sorry, but sexist much?!
In this day and age it's not just mums who do the shopping!
DH does most of the shopping here.
I'm fully expecting to get jumped on for taking issue with this, but on every thread that wasn't trans related sexism like that is usually called out, can't believe I'm expecting a flaming for taking issue with sexism but meh^

Not only the shopping but the cooking. I was on a house party chat with three friends yesterday where I happened to mention DH was cooking dinner and they were all disbelieving and telling me how lucky I was (age range 40-49). It was sausage and mash ffs. So while you and I, and many more women may not run our households in this way, there are many, many, many more who do.

justanotherneighinparadise · 17/04/2020 09:45

But then Arla know the difference between dairy cows and bullshit.

Fucking hell thats an advertising strapline if ever I saw one!!! Grin love it 🤩

DocHolliday · 17/04/2020 09:55

Thanks just Grin. I just find it hilarious the troll doc chose the milk industry of all things to have a pop at. What a div!

KrakowDawn · 17/04/2020 10:11

@justanotherneighinparadise sorry, what's the title of the other thread please?

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 17/04/2020 10:20

I find it quite interesting that the new argument is about what people perceive MN to be like.

Isn't it. It's almost like they can't find anything transphobic unless they post it themselves so they can screenshot so spread lies until it becomes 'truth'.

R0wantrees · 17/04/2020 10:20

Times April 2018
'Mumsnet founder Justine Roberts: Transgender activists try to curb free speech on site'
(extract)
“Transgender activists have contacted Mumsnet advertisers and said they will be organising a boycott of their products if they don’t remove their advertising from Mumsnet,” Roberts said.

The website had told the advertisers that it “works hard to keep the discussions civil” and was determined to let them continue.

“What’s worrying to me is the thought-police action around speech and the shutting down of the right to be able to disagree and immediately labelling it as transphobic,” Roberts said.

The threats are the latest move in a campaign by transgender activists to inhibit discussion of potential legal changes that would allow people born male to self-identify as women.

Feminists say the plans threaten women’s rights and protected spaces. Trans activists say that to oppose them is bigotry. They have pressurised dozens of venues into cancelling meetings on the subject.

One meeting that went ahead at the House of Commons led to a complaint to the parliamentary standards commissioner against David Davies, the MP who organised it.

Trans activists bombarded the Commons authorities with demands that the meeting be cancelled with one, Ariel Moss, boasting on Twitter that she “rang them three times today under different voices and phones”.

Sometimes attempts to break up meetings have turned violent. Last week a trans activist, Tara Wolf, was convicted of assaulting a feminist who was attending a rally against the proposals. (continues)

Roberts said no advertiser had yet pulled out. “There is a section of the hardline trans side which thinks that any discussion at all is by definition transphobic, but we’ve explained we’re working very hard to keep it civil,” she said.

aladyofinderterminateage · 17/04/2020 10:21

Right, just looked up Arla's catalogue of products and have told dh to buy those instead of other brands.

Anniegetyourgun · 17/04/2020 10:26

I went to the supermarket today (first time in two weeks, it was kind of a treat - forgot DS's cereal though, d'oh!) and took extra pleasure in buying a 2l bottle of Cravendale, just because.

aladyofinderterminateage, what a good idea, going to do that too.

Somanysocks · 17/04/2020 10:29

Well I am still confused by a doctor who hasn't grasped basic biology.

My favourite response to Harrop . . .

God that is depressing.

R0wantrees · 17/04/2020 11:10

From what i can gather a company have asked for examples of transphobia when they were made aware of the problem, so he did a RT asking people if they had any.
Hope that's clearer with a bit more context?

Willis is missing/obscuring the context.

Adrian Harrop is part of a long term campaign by some transactivists to lobby MN advertisers in order to put pressure/punish MNHQ for allowing members to discuss the impact of transactivism on children's Safeguarding & women's sex based rights.

A number of MN advertisers have been tweet lobbied which included Arla (also Yeo & Bright Horizens recently)

'DadTrans' who published a response from previous advertisers with unsubstatiated commentry took a position about/against 'Mumsnet' some time ago:

twitter.com/DadTrans/status/914165853742075905

from October 2017 thread:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3048350-Some-sort-of-campaign-being-organised-against-MN?pg=5

He seems quite well connected having had a piece in the i & has also campaigned against NHS GIDS Tavistock services for not providing medical 'affirmation' interventions quickly enough (NHS GIDs is subject to a judicial review for failing in its Duty of Care to children by prescribing 'experimental treatments')
'This is what it is really like to seek healthcare for your trans child
The media paints a picture of 'fast-tracked' services and easy access to hormones. The reality couldn't be more different'

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3233421-Home-Affairs-Committee-Hate-crime-enquiry-Newspaper-editors-interviewed

The background to the comment by Ed Milliband quoted at the Home Affairs hearing was discussed on a MN thread in November 2017

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3096513-to-let-you-know-how-men-use-the-Equality-Act-to-undermine-womens-spaces?pg=6

questions were asked by @ pisacake 25/11/17
with comment on what was believed to be a significant meeting with Ed Milliband prior to his statement:

"Those Miliband guests in full:
1. Helen Webberley - bonkers GP, not allowed to practise unsupervised, runs online trans clinic.
2. @ DadTrans - works for Mermaids

  1. Paris Lees - trans rentaquote, invited to Mumsnet blogfest www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/2775504-Why-is-Paris-Lees-speaking-at-Mumsnet-and-are-MN-seeking-Spartacus-tees
  2. Miranda Kane - former dominatrix sex worker"

'Growing Up Transgender' blog:
"In November 2017, (@ DadTrans) was interviewed by Ed Miliband and Geoff Lloyd for their Reasons to be Cheerful Podcast.

The episode went on to jointly win broadcast of the year at the 2018 Pink News Awards

Receiving the award, ex-Labour leader Miliband joked: “This makes up for the general election in 2015.”

Meanwhile, actual trans people are variously congratulating Arla or telling Harrop to get stuffed

Quite. This is a political lobby group who use the word 'trans' like a Trojan horse. Go and take a look at how they treat trans people who dare to say they don't agree with what this group is lobbying for, or who point out the anti-female/anti safeguarding issues? Mens Rights Activism has found a useful new narrative.

As to the gay men furiously shouting homophobia and refusing biologically female sexual partners on the basis of gender identity while simultaneously shouting abuse at female people for saying the exact same thing to males..... ? Again, spot the Mens Rights Activism.

Female people exist only to meet the needs of males in the narrative of this political lobby, they are not equally human, and resistance must be punished. You will never notice TW taking on this same subhuman status: female people and women are not the same thing. This is evidenced endlessly not just in tweets but in the written articles, the submissions made to select committees and the statements made in court. It's in plain sight, it's no secret. Sadly it's no exaggeration either.

YogaFaker · 17/04/2020 11:21

Yes, I'll look out for Arla products too.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/04/2020 11:34

Cravendale milk is excellent. More expensive but lasts much much longer.
