Glad he’s got his priorities right in the middle of a pandemic. He’s really, really want to see mumsnet closed down and has a fair following - even been on telly

May 2018 Adrian Harrop was instrumental in the reporting of Olivia Palmer to The Green Party following Channel 4's Gender Quake Debate:

'The Genderquake debate fiasco and the McCarthyism that followed.'

I don't understand why he hasn't been struck off both as a GP and from Twitter. If anything ever happens, his practise won't be able to claim they weren't warned or that it was out of character. Lots of red flags all over his social media raising questions about his suitability and his ability to provide an impartial healthcare service.

nauticant · 17/04/2020 15:27

In these campaigns of his to go after people and get them to lose their jobs, lose their positions, lose their means of supporting themselves, etc, does he ever go after men? Or is it always women he goes after?

TheMagiciansMewTwo · 17/04/2020 15:32

I think he went after Glinner and possibly Harry too.
But it's mainly women. And I don't think he made any golf references to the men strangely enough.

Fernlake · 17/04/2020 15:48

i am overtly + unapologetically cisphobic. cis people, on the whole, are just awful + there needs to be a massive state-sponsored programme of re-education

He's cis himself though. Confused

nauticant · 17/04/2020 15:51

Well, that's straightforward. Self-hatred projected onto his mummy with all the women in the world being the proxy for his mummy.

DickKerrLadies · 17/04/2020 16:57

Anyway, even if we are deemed as witches heretics-- t*rfs and transphobes, we're just one thing on a very long list which includes people such as Sharron Davies and Martina Navratilova and one of the founders of Stonewall.

I mean, I've had worse company.

DickKerrLadies · 17/04/2020 16:59

(Am I allowed to make a light-hearted joke about my post identifying as being correctly formatted?)

SkinRash · 17/04/2020 19:07

Imagine having as your GP someone who posts of twitter that he's phobic of you for being a run of the mill person with no special identity, considers you to be awful, and thinks you need to be re-educated.

Exactly this.

His LinkedIn profile publicly names the surgery he is employed at. You have to wonder how they allow this as surely it breaches any social media policies?

I bet he's difficult to manage at work too.

I wonder if his mum just didn't cuddle him enough. Bear

MoltoAgitato · 17/04/2020 19:14

If he’s cis phobic and claiming that the equality act protects gender, surely he’s conducting hate crimes against a protected characteristic group of people stating he’s cisphobic?

MoleSmokes · 17/04/2020 19:22

Someone's got to say it . . .

Given the choice, as it has, between endorsement by Mumsnet or being deemed "Extremely disappointing" by the Church of Satan Hmm . . .

Arla knows which side its bread is buttered! Grin

Gone are the days where unsubstantiated bollocks can make people think they are not being, I don't know what the word is, let's call it 'fair'

They want evidence. They want to know why. They want an explanation of exactly what they're being accused of. And, crucially, they're challenging it.

Twattersphere · 17/04/2020 22:20

Is Ann Coates a sock puppet of Big Steph? They have the same pompous way of posting with a threatening undertone.

What the likes of Harrop St al don’t realise, is that outside of the Twitter echo chambers nobody gives a shit about their posturing and tantrums.

Binterested · 17/04/2020 22:54

Ann Coates does not post in a manner used by most women, lets just put it that way.

Boireannachlaidir · 17/04/2020 23:26

Yep I thought the same about poor dear Anne too. Quite sad really... in a strange sort of way.

Twattersphere · 17/04/2020 23:36

It is so sad, grown adults trying to intimidate and bully women on Twitter. Anyone would think that they had nothing better to do than sit on Twitter all day and night ...... oh...... wait a minute Grin

MrFaceyRomford · 17/04/2020 23:53

Who is this person? Never heard of him.

PrimalLass · 18/04/2020 09:03

I bought Skyr yesterday because of Haddock.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 18/04/2020 09:12

Have you tried it primal is it nice

It always looks nice

PrimalLass · 18/04/2020 09:13

Not yet but I'll make something with it today

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 18/04/2020 09:18

I love Skyr, it's the yoghurt version of clotted cream...

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 18/04/2020 09:22

Is it?

I’ll give it ago next time the one way system in tescos takes me past the yogurt Grin

And I’m trying it specifically because of this thread to make it clear

SunsetBeetch · 18/04/2020 09:39

Doctors Harrop and Jessen.

I have no medical or scientific qualifications except for Biology O level Grade B (1977) so happy to be corrected on this. On that Start the Week programme a couple of weeks ago the two scientists discussing the X chromosome said that women's immune response tends to be better than men's because (I think) a man with faulty genes on his X chromosome affecting the immune system has no fallback as the genes on the Y chromosome can't step in, having nothing to do with the immune system - I think it was stated that most genes on the Y chromosome are to do with sperm motility.

A woman with faulty genes on one X chromosome can apparently fall back on the genes on the other X chromosome - relatively new discovery, contradicting earlier views that only one chromosome was used after the first few days/weeks in utero.

Women''s stronger immune respons is thought to be a big factor in autoimmune disorders, which are far more prevalent in women, where the immune system goes loopy and starts attacking the woman's own body. (As I said, I'm no scientist!)

If I've got that right Dr H has omitted to mention this rather important point.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/04/2020 10:00

I've ordered some Arla Skyr specifically because of Dr H. Looking forward to it now I've heard it's comparable to clotted cream! Grin
