Glad he’s got his priorities right in the middle of a pandemic. He’s really, really want to see mumsnet closed down and has a fair following - even been on telly

Hardly comes across as a front line heroic medic does he?
He's trying to close down Mumsnet in the middle of a world epidemic? WTF?

There are care homes with people dying near where he is supposed to be working. Why isn't he doing something useful like finding the exhausted care home staff some PPE or summat?

Tweeting a dairy about MN, for goodness sake.

Does he ever do any proper NHS work, without looking to see what's in it for him?

SkinRash · 16/04/2020 23:44

He seems to be a very smug and narcissistic character with an unhealthy obsession with MN.

Are GP's social media accounts not regulated? His LinkedIn profile publicly names the medical practice where he currently works Confused

Very unprofessional. I sincerely hope he does not speak for the rest of his GP colleagues.

I suspect he has significant mental health issues.

MehitabelWhurl · 16/04/2020 23:56

I could honestly never get tired of slapping that petulant silly little face.

PositiveVibez · 17/04/2020 00:07

Pro women doesn't mean anti trans

This X 1million

Bluebooby · 17/04/2020 00:09

During a lockdown situation when people are anxious, isolated, domestic abuse is amplified and people need online support networks more than ever and he picks now. What a guy.

KrakowDawn · 17/04/2020 00:15

MN- mainly women chatting to other women, sometimes about dairy products.

We buy a lot of arla products because DD is lactose intolerant, it's good that they have a decent range available. And I make all the shopping decisions in my family.

thegcatsmother · 17/04/2020 00:18

Wotcha Happy to send 24 year old ds to do the shopping, as he cooks, so knows what I tend to buy. Dh does not cook, so doesn't get send to do the food shopping, as he would buy something that I wouldn't use, or that only he would eat, thus I would have to go again. Simple; it wastes less of my time if I go, having done the meal planning, and I am aware what I can use instead if what I want isn't available.

In our household, I cook, ds cooks, dh does all the car bits.

Watertorture · 17/04/2020 00:23

Is this the guy who posted a faked prescription on twitter to antagonise someone? Or was that someone else?

PositiveVibez · 17/04/2020 00:48

I would never take screenshots of some of the stuff posted on the relationships board, but Mumsnet is not just the FWR board.

It is so much help to so many vulnerable women.

This man is an absolute dick.

PositiveVibez · 17/04/2020 00:52

I frequent the FWR boards and I am gender critical, but I am NOT a transphobe.

I will argue till the cows come home for single sex spaces, single sex sports etc, single sex shelters etc.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 17/04/2020 00:52

Wotcha Happy to send 24 year ds out to do the shopping

All good then Smile

TehBewilderness · 17/04/2020 01:11

That explains the incendiary posts that were copied and posted on twitter even though they were deleted from MN within minutes.
It is a political tactic called ratfucking.

MoleSmokes · 17/04/2020 01:58

Worth noting that:

  • the person who started the campaign harassing several companies associated with Mumsnet is not trans but has a vested interest
  • Harrop is not trans but has a vested interest
  • Helen Islan, another person harassing Arla and other companies to boycott Mumsnet is not trans but has a vested interest (Helen Islan of Mermaids fame who took trans person, Miranda Yardley, to court for alleged "transphobia").

Meanwhile, actual trans people are variously congratulating Arla or telling Harrop to get stuffed Grin

Spectacular own-goal with loads of positive press and extra income for both Arla and Mumsnet!

OMG his old account was suspended?! How the hell is he allowed to just join back up again?

Gingerkittykat · 17/04/2020 04:28

*Adrian Harrop called out to his supporters for evidence of transphobia on MN. His supporters are obsessed with the feminist section of MN and continually take screen shots. As a result of Harrop's appeal, this is the best they could collectively find to show MN transphobia:

That's interesting because that thread was started by someone who was clearly trolling. If I was a conspiracy theorist I would say that they start today threads on here just to screenshot the responses.

ClareVH · 17/04/2020 04:36

He's a troll. A woman-hating troll. And by 'woman' I obviously mean those who were born as women, not those who decided to exercise their male privilege to 'become' women.

myopnionismine · 17/04/2020 05:26

Oh i have no idea why if your pro trans then are they not becoming woman so why anti! I don't get it,,Sorry but really it's all beyond me.
I am friends with a trans woman, I hear no anti woman issues.

myopnionismine · 17/04/2020 05:56

If he is a gp how does he treat the woman patients at his practise

NotBadConsidering · 17/04/2020 06:00

Well, to be fair, it's got nothing to do with AIBU and one can easily click on and then think FFS lol

And then post over and over and over, never being able to leave, being forced to stay on such objectionable threads. You must feel like Sisyphus Wotcha, just when you think you’ve got to the top of the hill and you’re going to avoid another objectionable thread, along comes another to roll you back to the start. Must be hard, never to find the strength to move the mouse to click away. I worry for you. Stay strong. One day you will overcome this terrible affliction. Flowers

SophocIestheFox · 17/04/2020 06:26

Oh, Aidey, mate, that didn’t go as planned, did it? Deary me 😂

Men who don’t like women talking amongst ourselves hate sites like Mumsnet. In their minds (and I don’t quite know how this works), the site somehow manages to be laughable because it’s just silly women chattering into the void, and simultaneously a global threat to trans people’s mental health that must be defunded and shut down immediately.

If I wanted to find evidence of rape and death threats towards women on twitter, it would take me about five minutes to screenshot enough material to make your hair stand on end, and I spend no time at all on Twitter. Yet somehow, in the alleged hotbed of transphobia that is Mumsnet, people who spend all their time here obsessively monitoring and reporting women can’t muster up evidence of anything remotely transphobic. If it ever appears, it’s deleted. So the issue that they’re trying to control is what women who come here think - not what we post, but what we believe. That’s where these vague “ah, but people perceive the place to be transphobic” beliefs come from- it’s filling in the blanks between what women actually post, and what people who believe this place is transphobic believe we must secretly be thinking. Unfortunately, it’s bobbins, because what actually occurs in that space is women believing that women’s rights are important.

DickKerrLadies · 17/04/2020 07:52

I find it quite interesting that the new argument is about what people perceive MN to be like.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 17/04/2020 08:14

Indeed, @SophocIestheFox

nolongersurprised · 17/04/2020 08:24

Is he the doctor who once tweeted his opinion that “cispeople” are awful?

“Cispeople” presumably, given his known misogyny, is euphemistic for women.

Unfortunately, after he was (figuratively) eviscerated by Posie I can never really take him seriously.

YgritteSnow · 17/04/2020 08:34

If he is a gp how does he treat the woman patients at his practise

I have wondered this. I'd turn round and walk right back out but worry about people like my elderly mother who thinks doctors know everything and wouldn't dream of questioning.
