Intensive care at the crossroads of life and death, 3 days later suited and booted and giving speeches. Fishy or what?

I don't see why some of you are finding it so hard to believe that he really was ill. A lot of people are at the moment, as COVID-19 is very infectious. And Boris was stupidly shaking hands not all that long ago so I'm not at all surprised he caught it.

SoupDragon · 14/04/2020 16:43

He's a celebrated liar

Are all the medical professionals celebrated liars too?

justanotherneighinparadise · 14/04/2020 16:46

😴

Seriouslyastounded · 14/04/2020 16:47

The left are insane!

x2boys · 14/04/2020 16:51

Well.exactly Mittens,Politicians are probably far more likely to catch than most due to fact they meet so many. People in the course ,of public life ,Prince Charles also had it doesn't surprise ,what does surprise me is that not more politicians have tested .

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/04/2020 16:52

I think you might well be saying what a lot of people are thinking, op, but would never admit it. You can’t slag any of the Tories off on here though. Now if it was Corbyn you were saying it about. Everyone would be cheering you on.

x2boys · 14/04/2020 16:53

Tested positive *

BasicIntentions · 14/04/2020 16:56

I can’t believe some of the nutjob conspiracy theories I’m reading on this thread. Do people seriously not believe Boris has had CV? Do they think that when he was looking terribly ill just before going into hospital he was faking it?
I absolutely despair at the utter stupidity of some people.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/04/2020 16:57

What a load of bollocks, sorry.
I say this as someone who votes Labour too.
Who in their right mind would be cheering on someone casting doubt on someone's illness/accuse them of faking?
Nothing to do with what "side" you're on/who you vote for.

Pelleas · 14/04/2020 16:58

No, I don't think it's fishy. For him to have pretended to be more ill than he was, he'd have had to involve multiple hospital staff in the deception - I find it impossible to believe that everyone at the hospital would be such a Boris fan that they wouldn't leak something as scandalous as this.

I believe him, and I'm glad he is recovering - for what it's worth I didn't and would never vote for him.

CendrillonSings · 14/04/2020 16:58

Awwlookatmybabyspider

Are the NHS medical staff at St. Thomas’ in on the conspiracy? Yes or no?

Amanduh · 14/04/2020 17:00

Oh for fucks sake. You are completely delusional.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/04/2020 17:00

Are the NHS medical staff at St. Thomas’ in on the conspiracy? Yes or no?

Exactly.
Even if he was "faking" Hmm - are we supposed to believe that all the doctors, nurses, everyone at the hospital are covering up too?
Why would they all do that?
How on such a scale as well?
Do those thinking it's all fake have any answers?

Devlesko · 14/04/2020 17:00

Unless you agree with the "sheeple" OP you are vilified, it's so funny seeing and hearing them believe everything they're told.
If you don't believe it, you are a conspiracy theorist, even though you don't have a theory. Grin
Scary how they all roll over so fast though, not many to count on to fight for our freedom and rights when the time comes, they're alredy conditioned to the "Newspeak".

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/04/2020 17:04

Oh Dear God Grin
See? There's no answer to any questions.
You ask rational questions, and this, this is what you get back instead.
Insults, nonsensical, related to nothing but "you're all sheeple" - it's - I can't even.

That's the "side" you want to align yourself with? Don't question, just go along as we're sheep if we're questioning anything?
Fine, crack on lol.

maybelou · 14/04/2020 17:07

some real Boris lovers in here 😂😂

I actually did think the same though OP, I thought he'd at least be a bit breathless or more 'ill sounding' in his speech but he seemed fine if you ask me, not at all like he'd just been in the ICU and 'it could have gone either way' 🤔

SoupDragon · 14/04/2020 17:07

it's so funny seeing and hearing them believe everything they're told.

Not as funny as seeing the hard of thinking claiming he made it all up.

Fatasfooook · 14/04/2020 17:08

Have you read the amount of insults that have been thrown at me on this thread? Twunt being my favourite. Also calling for me to be banned from mumsnet etc.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 14/04/2020 17:09

I am far from being a Boris fan but claiming he made it all up is just utterly ridiculous.

Pelleas · 14/04/2020 17:10

some real Boris lovers in here

You don't have to 'love' someone to believe they've had Corona and be glad they are getting better. Those are surely feelings that any reasonable human being would extend to any other human being (save, possibly, murderers and the like) irrespective of their political standpoint.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/04/2020 17:11

It's nothing to do with being a "Boris lover" FFS lol
(How old are some people on here, 5 years old?! Grin

child 1 says "hang on a minute, but so and so..."

child 2 misses or ignores question "Omigod you LOVE him"
Grin

For what it's worth, I'm not particularly a fan, I've never voted for him, and I'm a Labour voter.

RuffleCrow · 14/04/2020 17:11

I don't think people who are sceptical of the claims of lying politicians are 'hard of thinking' @SoupDragon. It's a lot easier to sit back and believe everything you're told than it is to ask questions.

Devlesko · 14/04/2020 17:12

Wootcha

I haven't a clue what you're rambling on about.

What "side" what rational question have you asked and not got an answer?

Erm you got the last paragraph the wrong way round. Do question, it's healthier than going with what you are told, believing everything you are told because somebody in authority told you.

The twin towers would have had more survivors, perhaps not a lot more, but people were told to go back to work in a burning building.
You have to decide if you want to be someone who questions or believes/ does everything they are told.

Lougle · 14/04/2020 17:13

It is extremely unlikely that BJ was on ECMO. There are 15 beds in the entire country and they are only used when ventilation has failed. You can still be incredibly ill and not require ventilation, so that doesn't contradict the BJ story at all. Also, intensive care can be used colloquially for both ICU and HDU. Some hospitals have combined ICU/HDUs and others have several specialist ICU/HDU units.

SoupDragon · 14/04/2020 17:14

I don't think people who are sceptical of the claims of lying politicians are 'hard of thinking' @SoupDragon.

They are when they clearly believe the medical professionals who treated him are also lying.
