Intensive care at the crossroads of life and death, 3 days later suited and booted and giving speeches. Fishy or what?

It’s an Easter miracle 😂

ToffeeYoghurt · 14/04/2020 15:30

He clearly looked ill, before his admission and in the post hospital video. I agree that if anything the media downplayed things.

He might've been treated with one of the drugs being trialled. Or he's just one of the ones who did survive ICU. He's not the only one. It's partly down to good care, partly sheer luck for anyone with this virus.

CallmeAngelina · 14/04/2020 15:30

This thread is vile.

Lynda07 · 14/04/2020 15:31

Don't be so suspicious, he was very ill and is still recovering.

I don't like BJ's politics but there's no point in making him out to be worse than he is. That is totally unfair.

Davros · 14/04/2020 15:31

Cendrillonsings I believe your theory. Are we now a cult?

FliesandPies · 14/04/2020 15:32

Everything about this government is fishy as fuck. He probably had the virus but they laid it on thick about the seriousness of his condition to try to stop the criticism of him and it worked.

Sparklingbrook · 14/04/2020 15:34

'Boris and the Virus' sounds like the title of children's book.

This thread is also fiction.

Abraid2 · 14/04/2020 15:34

Yeah, he fooled all those world-class respiratory experts at St Thomas's into thinking he had CV.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 14/04/2020 15:34

Could mnhq kindly ban all the utter twunts on this thread?

Incidentally I'm genuinely shocked to read that an NHS nurse hasn't had a payrise in 11 years!

Howmanysleepsnow · 14/04/2020 15:34

@MaxNormal How many people just out of ICU have you seen to base that observation on?
FWIW, I’ve seen a fair few (I’m a nurse) and there’s nothing incongruous about his presentation.
All this Boris-bashing is getting ridiculous now.

CendrillonSings · 14/04/2020 15:35

I think we’re some of the few not in a cult, Daveos...

SallyWD · 14/04/2020 15:36

I am not a Tory (my husband calls me a Corbybista) but at the same time I was relieved to see him recover. I do believe he was probably moved in to ICU more quickly than Joe Bloggs might have been because of his status. He was probably not as severely ill as many people in ICU but clearly he was very ill and not getting better at home.

CendrillonSings · 14/04/2020 15:37

Yeah, he fooled all those world-class respiratory experts at St Thomas's into thinking he had CV.

Jesus, Boris is going to sweep the board at the next Oscars, I tell ya...

VettiyaIruken · 14/04/2020 15:40

Oh he definitely had the virus. He looked absolutely dreadful on the run up to going into hospital. It's clear he was very ill.

Re intensive care, either he needed it because he was genuinely at the level where ICU is needed and the gov spokespeople were playing it down when they said it was merely a precaution
, or they were telling the truth and he actually was put in ICU when he didn't need it, therefore holding an ICU bed and ventilator from someone who could die without it.
I don't suppose we'll ever know.

TheSkyIsFallingIn123 · 14/04/2020 15:41

You're not very nice I suspect.

ElaineMarieBenes · 14/04/2020 15:41

Can’t stand the man or his politics but he still doesn’t look a well man - I’m glad the NHS worked it’s best on him - perhaps he won’t destroy it now!

YABU

chickedeee · 14/04/2020 15:41

Which lie do we believe- the one at the beginning where he had 'mild symptoms and was still chairing meetings (look everyone here is a photo to prove it! 😃)
OR
He is in intensive care but does not need as much oxygen as everyone else (look everyone here are the stats!)

He is not invincible
He is a human being

Lets hope this 'brush with death' helps he develop empathy

Unlikely he is a tory after all and cold blooded 🥶

siriusmew · 14/04/2020 15:42

Anyone with the gumption to play the carefully strategised long game that Boris has played is more than capable of girding his loins, whacking on a suit and filming a press release after discharge from hospital. I'm no-where near a fan of Boris, I'm a bitter Corbynista, but even my cold lefty heart twinged when I saw him in his suit, looking really still quite unwell.
I will disagree to the ends of the earth with his politics, but I can't deny the sheer effort it must have taken to get up and do that. I do hope he is eating lots of easter egg now, in comfy clothes and slippers.

Snugglepiggy · 14/04/2020 15:43

He personally thanked two nurses who looked after him for 48 hours. Why don't you take your screwed up ,spiteful conspiracy theory to them and accuse them of being complicit.

titchy · 14/04/2020 15:44

The optics on the PM being admitted to hospital, then ICU, are so utterly dreadful there is no chance this was a publicity stunt.

The Sunday admission - he was a LOT worse than the press statements issued, a lot worse. The admission to ICU - required, but probably more than someone less important would have had given the same state of ill health.

The subsequent Easter narrative - spin on a very very fortunate coincidence of dates.

Honestly do people here not actually understand the whole politics/media machine?

LEELULUMPKIN · 14/04/2020 15:44

This becoming such a nasty place. And they want us to pay for it!

Fluffybutter · 14/04/2020 15:44

Oh you’re back then, Mr Icke ?@GREATAUNT1

TigerQueenie · 14/04/2020 15:45

I wish people would take the time to actually learn about the mechanisms of politics.

The ayes or nos always cheer upon the speaker announcing who has the vote, obviously depending on which side wins.

The Labour motion was to remove all wage caps, which would have also made senior civil servants eligible for hefty wage increases. And it was a whipped vote.

That aside, Boris looks like shit. He's clearly not a very well man. But when you're leader of a country, you have far less time afforded to properly recuperate as people place demands on you.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 14/04/2020 15:45

Yes, all all the staff in the hospital who looked after him are in it as well.

Hmm

What the fucking fuck is wrong with people?

Fatasfooook · 14/04/2020 15:45

Thanks for all the interesting replies, some good food for thought amongst them.
For those that want me deleted, banned, banished, burned at the stake, that called me an utter shit, a twunt etc etc, for questioning our great leader 😂 sorry for triggering you.
