To think that Ross Kemp shouldn't be filming at MK Hospital?

nellythenarwhal · 11/04/2020 19:21

Ross Kemp is currently filming a Corona Virus documentary at the ICU of MIlton Keynes Hospital.
Considering that dying patients can't see family, AIBU to think that this is an outrageous decision?

Yes, completely awful. I have tweeted the hospital and reminded them of government guidelines.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 11/04/2020 19:26

YANBU. We do not need Britain's Hardest Viruses to be made at this current time.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 11/04/2020 19:27

I have thought about this and to be honest I think they should be filming. We can see if the government are lying about ppe (although the trust will no doubt make sure it all looks good for the cameras) also the covidiots that think the new rules don't apply to them may have a jolt of realisation if they see this.

Alsohuman · 11/04/2020 19:28

I completely agree @eeyoresstickhouse.

ShinyMe · 11/04/2020 19:33

I agree that it probably does need to be made, but I disagree that the trust will try to make everything look hunky dory in terms of PPE and staffing. I think they will want as accurate a picture to be shown as possible, so that people know what it's like, and to support the case for better pay and conditions at some point in the future.

OhioOhioOhio · 11/04/2020 19:34

Unbelievable. Somehow the world of celebrity is at its worst at the moment. Did you see the thing where Victoria Beckham was clapping for the NHS instead of filming her family clap. Her ego is planted in a completely different place from minem

callmeadoctor · 11/04/2020 19:35

Filming can be done on staff body cameras if indeed any filming is done, not by outside camera team, disgraceful

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 11/04/2020 19:36

I don't think the trust will make it look good for the cameras. The lack of PPE isn't their fault, it's down to the government and needs to be seen. I think it all needs to be documented but I also agree it's hard for the families who can't be with their loved ones 💔

nellythenarwhal · 11/04/2020 19:38

I've never watched his other documentaries- are they very realistic?

MK Hospital is my local hospital so part of me wants to watch just in case one of us are sent there but on the other hand I will be furious if one of my kids are admitted and he was there but I couldn't.

Ohio - unless you've written that wrongly, why is it bad Victoria Beckham was clapping the NHS?!

Nicknacky · 11/04/2020 19:40

What was wrong with what Victoria Beckham did?!

Shoppingwithmother · 11/04/2020 19:40

Yes, I was wondering the above, Ohio - I haven’t read about it, but what is wrong with that?

BanKittenHeels · 11/04/2020 19:41

YANBU!
My husband and all of my colleagues are working right at the coal face of this (I should be too but I’m shielding) and have a serious lack of appropriate PPE. I’d be very interested in where his fit-tested PPE is coming from, especially because my palliative care nurse friend only has a white plastic snap apron and surgical mask to protect her as she holds up phones to dying patients. She has to bring in her own supply of gloves from home.

bettybattenburg · 11/04/2020 19:42

I doubt it will be an accurate portrayal of what it is like in the hospital at the moment, if it was then the managers wouldn't have agreed to it in the first place.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 11/04/2020 19:44

Why is he doing this? Fuck off Grant, no one wants you here!

Becuna · 11/04/2020 19:49

I have not seen it but that seems to be a totally inappropriate thing. FFS does death not have dignity?

magicstar1 · 11/04/2020 19:50

His documentaries are very good, and he does tend to dig deep and get to hear stories you wouldn’t hear on other shows. I think it’ll be good sto show what it’s actually really like in the hospital.

Amanduh · 11/04/2020 19:51

Lots of people want him here... Belmarsh episodes were great. And they certainly didn’t paint anything in any sort of light.

bettybattenburg · 11/04/2020 19:53

They might want him there but I personally wouldn't want him them if a member of my family was on the ward. Just think for a moment what it would be like if the last time you saw your family member alive was on national television.

bettybattenburg · 11/04/2020 19:53

^him there

callmeadoctor · 11/04/2020 19:53

Doesn't follow government guidelines, by any stretch...............

Balhammom · 11/04/2020 19:54

YABU. Clearly need to do something to reinforce seriousness of corona virus to those flouting lockdown. If it works, it could help to ease pressure on hospitals.

nellythenarwhal · 11/04/2020 19:55

Is a patient in ICU even well enough to consent to filming?

Or do you mean the staff want him there?

OP posts:
Boredbumhead · 11/04/2020 19:55

He's ambulance chasing quite literally. What a wanker.

If celebrities don't get attention they will die. Will no one think of the celebrities?
