Read a report today on line by scientists who said they believe genes had a big part to play when you get the virus. That individuals with good immune systems, their bodies over work to fight the infection, and actually it makes them more unwell- hence we are seeing young healthy people dying.
I can’t find it now to say where and by whom it was, so read with caution!

Theresnobslikeshowb · 06/04/2020 21:20

Also to add, I hope he makes a speedy recovery, his partner must be devastated. I’m not a Borris fan at all, but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

Bathroom12345 · 06/04/2020 21:21

Xenia. Hear hear, wills, pensions all need to be checked.

IamHyouweegobshite · 06/04/2020 21:24

Awful news, I really hope that he recovers quickly.

speakout · 06/04/2020 21:24

Not sure how anyone would get a will made or check pensions atm- everywhere is closed.

givemeanamepls · 06/04/2020 21:25

I know I am one of the few Tory voters on MN, but I just want to say how nice it is of even the Labour supporters above offering kind words.

Tories would offer well wishes as well if the shoe was on the other foot surely?

opticaldelusion · 06/04/2020 21:25

@Bluntness100 But there are two strains. From what I've read. Although it's not necessarily the case that one is deadlier. Or at least we don't know that yet. I think it's probably complicated. But it's not made up bullshit to say there are two.

sweetsaltypopcorn · 06/04/2020 21:26

This has made me feel awful. Hope Boris pulls through.

vanillandhoney · 06/04/2020 21:26

You can do pension checks online. I recently set up a private pension having gone self employed and added DH as beneficiary online yesterday.

Took me all of about two minutes.

JasonPollack · 06/04/2020 21:26

Absolutely hate the man, and I think he completely brought this on himself with his foolhardy attitude. Shaking hands with everyone fgs.

All that being said though I feel desperately sorry for his children and pregnant fiancé, I hope she has good support around her.

Serin · 06/04/2020 21:26

I'm not really a Boris fan but I couldn't bloody sleep last night for worrying about him and his family.
Come on lad, we are all wishing you well.

astropoodle · 06/04/2020 21:26

At the end of the day he is still a father, a son and a partner. That kind of thing matters, party politics doesn't. It could be Tommy Robinson and I'd still hope he didn't die.

Legoandloldolls · 06/04/2020 21:27

He has a lit of kids. I really hope he makes it. His odds arent fantastic if he is in ICU.

No one deserves this and like or loath him hes made himself worse by doing the best trying to carry on for the country.

HappyHammy · 06/04/2020 21:28

Who cares if posters like or dislike him, that's irrelevant, he is extremely sick and we all hope he and everyone else affected pulls through. I do hope we dont have to listen to two faced pretentious condescending news reporters who had nothing good to say about him pretend they care.

CaroleFuckinBaskin · 06/04/2020 21:29

There are (at least) 2 strains of CoVid circulating. One is much more deadly than the other.

Do you have a source for this? I had heard there were possibly 2 strains but not that one was 'much more deadly' than the other?

FishingPaws · 06/04/2020 21:30

Tories would offer well wishes as well if the shoe was on the other foot surely?

Absolutely! There is a hint of being pleasantly surprised about the kind words for Boris though, because of the amount of hatred and vitriol hurled at the Conservatives in general and him in particular.

namechange34 · 06/04/2020 21:31

Speakout - solicitors are still working. Having meetings via video call with clients/prospective clients. Draft wills back and forward via email. Bank transfer for fee. Final will posted out, witnesses can practice social distancing e.g. next door neighbours can witness over the back fence or from the end of the driveway. Post the final will back to the solicitor for safe keeping, job done.

itsgettingweird · 06/04/2020 21:31

Bluntness there are actually 8 strains of SARS- COV2 identified. But the difference between flu mutating and coronavirus means CV is still similar despite mutations and therefore 1 vaccine should still be enough.

Flu mutating yearly is why they give flu jab yearly.

And they don't think the strains are what cause different level of illness.

ScorpionQueen · 06/04/2020 21:32

It's really sad. However you feel about him, he's just a man, with kids and another on the way.
Corona doesn't care who you are, at the end of the day.

Meaniebobeanie · 06/04/2020 21:32

Hope he pulls through Sad

Ponoka7 · 06/04/2020 21:33

@nicky7654
"We don't care want you think of Brexit, it's done so get over it!!!"

Unfortunately it isn't 'done', which was another strain on Boris because he had that looming in the background and was still being questioned on aspects of it, this week.

tobee · 06/04/2020 21:35

On the other hand, if he does pull through, it will be a tremendous boost.

So hard to believe this is happening!

deydododatdodontdeydo · 06/04/2020 21:37

Not sure how anyone would get a will made or check pensions atm- everywhere is closed.

Someone I know is a wills and probate solicitor.
She said they're busier than ever, as loads of people are making them.
And she's having to work in the office, too. Central Leeds.

macaroniandpizza · 06/04/2020 21:38

By no means am i a fan of his but i do hope he recovers and is well soon. Must be so worrying for his pregnant partner too
