I hope he gets through this,my thoughts go out to his family

Shmithecat2 · 07/04/2020 01:49

@Theflushedzebra

I am too. Worried about going to sleep and waking up to goodness knows what news tomorrow.

NothingButTheOceanBlue · 07/04/2020 06:19

I always had a soft spot for Boris. Whether you agree with his politics or not he puts his heart and soul into life. Even though, given his hugely privileged background you would not expect it, he comes across as very relatable - this is why so many people unexpectedly voted for him.

There is something very likeable about him. I am not a political person at all. I feel so sad he is in this position now, for him and his family and dearly hope he pulls through.

speakout · 07/04/2020 06:27

NothingButTheOceanBlue this is why so many people unexpectedly voted for him
92,153 voted him into leadership. Which is less than 0.2% of the populatiion.

I can't stand the man nor his values.

I do however wish him a speedy recovery- as I would any other human being in the same position.

TigerJoy · 07/04/2020 06:46

If he really is ventilated he's got a 50% chance of pulling through

I am not a fan of his but I really hope he's ok

Feeling nervous for him and for the country...

Ferfooksek · 07/04/2020 06:49

Love Boris. Hope he pulls through. Had to come off Twitter because of the vile stuff being posted. Glad to see there’s none of that here

something2say · 07/04/2020 06:54

Hes said to not be ventilated yet.
But Laura K is dropping tidbits, info about Raab, info about being non ventilated....
I do hope he pulls thro and we are not being prepared...

katienana · 07/04/2020 06:58

We cant be the country that can't save the PM. I don't agree with BJ politically but I wouldn't wish this on anyone and obviously feel for his family. The wider impact if he didn't make it doesn't bear thinking about, it will really frighten people because you would imagine he would get the very best treatment available (whether that is accurate or not is another matter).

Itsjustthesame · 07/04/2020 07:03

I’ve been lucky enough never to spend much time in hospitals so this may be a very silly question - but does will this mean that he’s in a “room” with other patients (I have no clue but imagined that intensive care is like a ward - you’re not on your own)?

Sassenach85 · 07/04/2020 07:13

I’m in my thirties, never been politically minded, never thought much of Boris. Then this virus appeared. Boris, Whitty..... they became familiar faces and voices in a scary time. I was so happy to see Chris whitty back yesterday but I fear he has been asked to come back sooner due to Boris’s predicament.

I am surprised at how I have developed an attachment to these faces and their reassurances. I feel sick this morning. I wish Boris a speedy recovery for himself, his family but also for me.... I think if he pulls through he will need to rest and recover in the coming weeks and where does that leave us as a nation? Raab??? I don’t like him and I can’t put my finger on why.

Sending positive thoughts to Boris, lots of us willing you to get better.... can’t believe I’m teary about him not leading us in this but our whole world has shifted Sad

NoNeedToBeRudeDear · 07/04/2020 07:21

@NothingButTheOceanBlue What is it you have a soft spot for? The calling of black people picaninnies? Muslim women letterboxes? Gay men bum boys?

Or is it his appalling and cavalier treatment of this pandemic that’s really made you fall for him?

The mans a moron and unfit for office. Him being ill doesn’t change that. Let’s not start deifying him. He’s handled the corona crisis with utter incompetence from the start.

TheTiaraManager · 07/04/2020 07:24

Feeling awful for Boris' loved ones like Carrie. It must be terrifying to have your partner so ill and not be able to be there, not to mention the additional stress of being pregnant & having COVID too.

Seen some sick trolling on FB of people not wanting BoJo to pull through. So sick. My thoughts & prayers are with all those affected worldwide & their loved ones Thanks

vanillandhoney · 07/04/2020 07:24

We cant be the country that can't save the PM.

What do you mean by this?

There is no cure for Coronavirus. If you get it, you either fight it off, or you don't. Unfortunately the fact that Boris is in ICU doesn't bode well for him, but there's nothing any other country could do better at this stage. There's no magic treatment he just doesn't have access to. He'll either be lucky enough to fight it off or it will kill him.

There's no third option.

NothingButTheOceanBlue · 07/04/2020 07:29

@NoNeedToBeRudeDear we are birds of a different feather I think. Was not aiming to cause offence. I am not a political animal. I was talking about on a personal level - he seems likeable to me. But then on a personal level Jeremy Corbyn also seems like a decent likeable person.

That is what we all are at the end of day. I really feel for his family at this time. I sincerely hope if a loved one of mine was seriously ill in hospital I would not have to endure such unpleasantness on twitter and social media.

RuggerHug · 07/04/2020 07:30

itsjustthesame in my experience, it's a ward with other patients, I don't know the hospital he's in or what kind of set up they have for him though obviously.

Thesoundofnohandsclapping · 07/04/2020 07:35

Boris looked very unwell late last week. After watching some of his most recent interviews he looked as if he was short of breath and possibly had a bit of a wheeze, but that may be hindsight looking for something that wasn't there.

I think he's more gravely ill than what is being reported, as Dominic Raab has managed to say very little and none of that very well.

Staff will do all they can for all the patients in their care, but this pissing virus seems to have an upper hand for too many people.

I hope for good recoveries for Boris and all who've been affected by it.

Itsjustthesame · 07/04/2020 07:37

@RuggerHug thank you. I just think if they’ve taken him to a ward - where there are others, that’s really not a positive sign. Logistically it must be a nightmare in terms of security etc.

CollaborativeBee · 07/04/2020 07:38

Vanilla , im not british, the virus is bigger than ego.
Nobody will judge britain.

Ive slagged him off left right and centre but i really hope he makes it.
I want to believe that this virus cannot kill larger than life people in their 50s.

I KNOW it can, rationally, but this is psychological.
Need him to pull through.

CollaborativeBee · 07/04/2020 07:39

Sorry vanilla, obviously that was to the person you are quoting!

RuggerHug · 07/04/2020 07:40

Well none of them will be getting visitors and none would be in a position to be hassling him in any way so I imagine it's security outside the ward. Again, I don't know the exact set up but based on my recent knowledge of ICU set ups that's what I'd guess.

WearyandBleary · 07/04/2020 07:44

I can’t help but feel cross about all the lies the government has put out about his condition: just lying to reassure people. Now they can’t lie any more. They lie about the figures and they lied about this. Pretending he was updating Twitter ffs.

I wish him well - of course - but I am mainly raging at the lack of honesty.

Itsjustthesame · 07/04/2020 07:45

@RuggerHug am sorry you’ve had a recent experience of ICU.

Salene · 07/04/2020 07:46

Please don't die Boris , we need you and your family needs you. It's made this so much more real for me because I can put a face to someone so ill by this virus

It feels like we are living in a horror movie .

I hope we hear some positive news today about him.

BovaryX · 07/04/2020 07:48

Good luck Boris, really hope he pulls through this. My thoughts go out to his family. What a bloody dreadful time.

RuggerHug · 07/04/2020 07:50

Thank you itsjustthesame
