Pot Noodle - who’s being unreasonable?

briebuiltthiscity · 31/03/2020 14:01

So there’s a hot debate going on in my house over the correct way to eat a pot noodle. I believe that you just eat until the “noodles” are gone, discarding the juice at the bottom.

Dh however believes in then drinking it - sort of like a soup.

Aibu to think he’s a savage Wink

I eat mine with a spoon.

Eckhart · 31/03/2020 14:54

I don't know which way to vote, because yes, he's being a savage, but... what's up with being a savage?

BusterTheBulldog · 31/03/2020 14:55

I spoon first for my starter, then fork the noodles, occasionally using spoon as I go. #classy

DoulaDaisy · 31/03/2020 14:56

Koka Noodle pot > Pot Noodle. All day every day. If you can't get Koka noodles then I pity you.

MashedSpud · 31/03/2020 14:56

Two pieces of toast, each cut into three soldiers, dip in chicken and mushroom pot noodle....no puddle left.

DoulaDaisy · 31/03/2020 14:56

Also, yes of course you drink the broth at the bottom.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 31/03/2020 14:57

Oh god i love a pot noodle...

Louiselouie0890 · 31/03/2020 15:01

Nooo you fill up to the water line BUT then add extra soy sauce to the top and then drink it at the end or bits in between. Dry pot noodle bleugh

j712adrian · 31/03/2020 15:04

Actually you're both in trouble. Get some lessons on mixing properly. You have brought disgrace on the Pot Noodle concept. FFS!

Pastaforall · 31/03/2020 15:04

That’s why a pot noodle needs both a fork and spoon. Fork for the noodles, spoon for the soup and then fork again for all the bits you missed. Yum.

Sonichu · 31/03/2020 15:05

"Beef and tomato is the best one btw. With extra ketchup."

Before they were discontinued (sob) Doner Kebab pot noodles were the tits so now the clear King of Pot Noodles is the Bombay Badboy.

(Pizza ones were also amazing but no one but me seems to remember them?)

Housewife2010 · 31/03/2020 15:07

I have never had one.

Scarlettpixie · 31/03/2020 15:15

Your DH is right

OlaEliza · 31/03/2020 15:17

The correct way to eat pot noodles is:

Open cupboard
Locate pot noodle
Open bin
Deposit pot noodle
Close bin
Find something decent to eat

Hth

adaline · 31/03/2020 15:19

@reefedsail that is genius.

I have bacon super noodle pots in the cupboard, I may have to try this!

MrKlaw · 31/03/2020 15:20

You put less than the line of water so you get more of a thick gravy than a runny soup. You then dip bread (or toast which holds up better) to soak up the excess.

When you eat the noodles there is almost no sauce left

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/03/2020 15:20

I have never had one.

If you can't eat Pot Noodles during the zombie apocalypse, when can you?

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 31/03/2020 15:21

Both wrong - leave it 15/20 mins instead of the 5 so the noodles drink up the 'soup' and there's only a tiny bit left and the noodles are full of them! :)

Lunawuna · 31/03/2020 15:22

Also, yes of course you drink the broth at the bottom.

Broth??! It's noodle juice.

BiggerBoat1 · 31/03/2020 15:26

Also, yes of course you drink the broth at the bottom.

I love that you've called it broth. Its juice - as in bin juice - but delicious obviously.

OlaEliza · 31/03/2020 15:28

Actually, I haven't tried a pot noodle since I was about 14. The nasty green one. I love supernoodles though, especially with b&b, and i used to love a micro-noodle sandwich, so if they are available here, when I can, I'll try the Bombay badboy.

I expect I'll be disappointed though.

planetcloud · 31/03/2020 15:31

omg unless you are a pig you leave the juice at the bottom - sorry you are married to a pig!

ReturnofSaturn · 31/03/2020 15:32

I've always drank the bottom 'juices'

MoonBabysMagicalKalimba · 31/03/2020 15:33

If there’s ‘juice’ in the bottom you’ve added too much water!

This! Made properly there should be no excess water at all. Too much water dilutes the taste completely.

Zalen · 31/03/2020 15:35

@reefedsail Ooh, never tried that, given that most foods are improved by the addition of cheese, I might have to give it a go.
