Pot Noodle - who’s being unreasonable?

briebuiltthiscity · 31/03/2020 14:01

So there’s a hot debate going on in my house over the correct way to eat a pot noodle. I believe that you just eat until the “noodles” are gone, discarding the juice at the bottom.

Dh however believes in then drinking it - sort of like a soup.

Aibu to think he’s a savage Wink

Sticky rib pot noodle has overtaken my love of chicken and mushroom

SewItGoes · 31/03/2020 15:36

I agree with pp who say you don't add too much water, or at least cook it down so that there's none left. I prefer a potent sauce-covered noodle to a noodle soup.

Leflic · 31/03/2020 15:37

You need to either add less water or leave it longer to get the full effect of noodles in synthetic sauce. There shouldn’t be liquid otherwise the noodles themselves don’t taste of anything.

BringMeThatHorizon · 31/03/2020 15:37

Eat it with a spoon so you get the noodles and the broth at the the same time. Then there's nothing left over at the end.

homemadecommunistrussia · 31/03/2020 15:38

If there’s ‘juice’ in the bottom you’ve added too much water!

This^^

Never fill it to the line, there should only barely be enough water to cook the noodles. stir once and leave for about 15 minutes until nice and stodgy add a ton of salt and enjoy! Grin

blackteaplease · 31/03/2020 15:40

Why did I read this thread? I really really want a pot noodle now. I dont think I've had one since 2002.

Thicker sauce and drink the dregs here.

lynsey91 · 31/03/2020 15:41

Pot Noodles are disgusting and I can't believe anyone likes them. I'd rather eat cardboard

enigmatoto · 31/03/2020 15:43

@OlaEliza Grin Grin Grin

Sparklingbells · 31/03/2020 15:44

Those of you turning your noses up at the thought of eating one should know that the factory cranks out 160million pot noodles per year and at the current time business is booming, so theres a fair few who are eating them.

PeterPanGoesWrong · 31/03/2020 15:48

You are both being unreasonable for eating such shit food!

I don’t care how many millions eat this crap, it’s not food and it’s not nice.

BarbaraofSeville · 31/03/2020 15:51

Looks like a few people are suffering from lack of McDonalds threads to make negative comments on.

Pot Noodle - who’s being unreasonable?
ThumbWitchesAbroad · 31/03/2020 15:56

I haven't eaten a pot noodle for well over 25 years, but when I did, I always ate it all, including whatever "soup" was at the bottom. But I used to mix it all in as I went to try and avoid having any left that needed "drinking" like that.

Occasionally I still miss them but not enough to poison myself with one.

JemSynergy · 31/03/2020 15:58

I don't like pot noodles because the noodles are too short but when I've eaten one I've discarded the soup...I know people who drink it. I prefer Itsu pots.

ArbitraryNameChange · 31/03/2020 16:00

Your husband is correct

And now I want a pot noodle

Youtoldme · 31/03/2020 16:01

Pot Noodle on toast-the beef & tomato one

Dipi79 · 31/03/2020 16:02

You dip a cheese sarnie in a Bombay Bad Boy, then eat the noodles, then neck the juice. Disgustingly unhealthy, but stfw?! 🤭

orangejuicer · 31/03/2020 16:02

Another vote for 'you have used too much water' Grin. Amateurs.

TheGoatIsHere · 31/03/2020 16:06

I cut up a slice of buttered toast and mix it into the juices.

EmpressMaudie · 31/03/2020 16:09

You're both unreasonable - pot noodles are disgusting.

This^

EmpressMaudie · 31/03/2020 16:11

Although I think, if I had to choose, I'd say your husband was correct in not discarding the juice.

EyeSoLated · 31/03/2020 16:14

Mmm I always look forward to drinking the water

FAQs · 31/03/2020 16:22

How can you eat them with a spoon, do you not suffer from slip and splash?

Anyway it’s Naked Noodle in this house far more superior.

whitesoxx · 31/03/2020 16:24

You're putting too much water in!

BoswellsBollocks · 31/03/2020 16:24

I’m not the biggest fan of pot noodles, curry or chicken super noodles however are the bollocks.

Made with a bit more water than necessary so they’re nice and saucy so I can mop up the juice with nasty white bread and butter, and with shit tonnes of white pepper all over.

DH wooed me with this meal when we were 20yo and not leaving the bed 😂
