Pot Noodle - who’s being unreasonable?

briebuiltthiscity · 31/03/2020 14:01

So there’s a hot debate going on in my house over the correct way to eat a pot noodle. I believe that you just eat until the “noodles” are gone, discarding the juice at the bottom.

Dh however believes in then drinking it - sort of like a soup.

Aibu to think he’s a savage Wink

Noooooo, don’t eat the liquid!

Just the noodles and debris! Leave the puddle at the bottom.

tallah · 31/03/2020 14:16

100% drinking it

PeanutbutterJamSandwich · 31/03/2020 14:16

I drink the sauce/soup BEFORE I eat the noodles

TonytheDog · 31/03/2020 14:17

You make a sandwich with white bread and butter. There shouldn't be any excess juice. When you've finished, wash it out and use it as a tea cup.

EerieSilence · 31/03/2020 14:17

Drink the juice first. Then add some really hot chilli sauce. Eat noodles with a fork.
The only way.

SillyCow6 · 31/03/2020 14:17

*wonders if she can get hold of a pot noodle, purely for research purposes of course

FabulouslyFab · 31/03/2020 14:18

Ohh curry pot noodle followed by a cup of tea - perfect 😁

SimonJT · 31/03/2020 14:18

Only savages eat pot noodles.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 31/03/2020 14:19

I recently discovered pot noodle - definitely drink the broth after the noodles are gone, a waste not to, especially now. I like the "naked" brand.
If I was your DH I'd keep quiet, and finish yours off.
Pot rice is disgusting, won't be trying that again.

iheartislesofwight · 31/03/2020 14:19

my dd eats pot noodles with chop sticks !

Lynda07 · 31/03/2020 14:20

There is no correct way to eat a pot needle; there is no correct pot noodle.

BreconBeBuggered · 31/03/2020 14:22

Times are tough, OP. Drink down every last drop. Or give it to me, when all this is over.

Ladybirdbookworm · 31/03/2020 14:23

Now I want a Pot Noodle.
Wanders over to the thread about what food you are missing most ....

Bananacake20 · 31/03/2020 14:23

The liquid is the best bit. I eat a pot noodle with a spoon instead of a fork so none of the juice is ever left at the bottom by the end! My OH just eats them like you do. It horrifies me every time how he can just throw away the 'soup' Shock

Do a home made one - smashed up noodle brick with cuppa soup in a massive mug. Any flavour you like.
Drink soup, eat noodles.
You're welcome.

quarantinevibes · 31/03/2020 14:26

YABU the soup is the best bit. Especially Bombay bad boy.

TheDogsMother · 31/03/2020 14:27

I can only assume you have no other food in the house otherwise why would either of you eat them.

PenguinsOnParade · 31/03/2020 14:28

I put just enough water in to cook the noodles so the "sauce" is thick and sticks to the noodles. Any little bit leftover after noodles have been eaten is discarded. DH puts way too much water in then drinks what's left. I will also only eat the chicken and mushroom one, he'll only eat the beef and tomato one.

Super Noodles are however a much superior noodle snack than Pot Noodles. Not so easy to make if you're out the house but I could eat chicken Super Noodles for days. If we had any. DH only bought the gross BBQ beef flavour last time.

BunnytheBee · 31/03/2020 14:28

Those saying why eat them, they’re on as an occasional treat / snack. Crisps, sweets and chocolate aren’t good for us but most of us are eat them from time to time.

turkeyontheplate · 31/03/2020 14:31

YABVU. If you are going to eat a Not Foodle, then you have already degraded yourself and slurping up the juice is an integral part of the ritual.

usersouthcoast · 31/03/2020 14:33

I'm with your DH on this one. Sorry.

usersouthcoast · 31/03/2020 14:33

But only if it's a Bombay bad boy.... otherwise, don't bother xx

BiggerBoat1 · 31/03/2020 14:34

Of course you have to drink the last bit. Can't waste a bit!

Jdabbers · 31/03/2020 14:34

What a great post!! 😂 Have to agree with your husband though!!
