I only properly realised when I looked at the recycling. I think we've had a drink every night this week. Prosecco on a weeknight? Yep.
Anyone else found this?

Week 1. Like a fish. Made biscuits. If it wasn't nailed down it was fair game. Am + 2kg. (+4 from where I want to be). Now I figure I have 6 weeks to 6 months to focus on coming out of this with my dream body! C25K started this week.

Gwynfluff · 27/03/2020 08:26

No. I’m a drinker anyway and confine it to weekends so I’ll stick to that or it could just get stupid and messy and I’ll end up a stone heavier and feeling crap. It also depresses the immune system. But imagine more moderate drinkers will be fine!

ProperVexed · 27/03/2020 08:28

I gave up wine and biscuits for Lent. Then I decided that if I was going to die I might as well be pissed and happy so I succumbed! And I am thoroughly enjoying it. I managed to order 12 bottles from a wine merchant friend so I hope we have enough. Still haven't had a biscuit though! ( probably not a good thing to be smug!)

hennythe100footbird · 27/03/2020 08:28

I like a drink, usually weekends only but have found that we've been having a drink most nights. I think it's just boredom, it gives you something to look forward to during the long days of trying to entertain a 2 year old!

Feelingfestivenow · 27/03/2020 08:30

Little more than normal but not much but next week will be back to the nothing in the week rule.

I went to Sainsburys (not had a shop in 2 weeks as I did not need to) and was shocked at the wine section, why are they not re-stocking the wine?

Went to Co-op, and you could buy wine but only 2 bottles. looked at Majestic and they have suspended all delivery's. May have to look at my 'ladies' whiskey selection I have been collecting

Love the G&T when Boris did his press conference!

No.

But if anyone does feel that their drinking is becoming an issue, then please join us on the Alcohol Support threads. We are a friendly, non-judgmental lot (honest). Smile

RaininSummer · 27/03/2020 08:32

Haven't had a drink yet but have ensured the gin is here for any nice warm days in the garden. Not a big drinker though and do think it's important to keep the immune system as good as possible right now.

MrsPerfect12 · 27/03/2020 08:33

I've been drinking every night 🤦🏻‍♀️ Only one or two but this is so unheard of. I usually have a few beers or wine on a Friday and that's it. I'm almost feeling ready to pour gin on my cereal 😂😂😂
I've made a promise to myself to get back into normal diet next week. We're all stressed so give we need to give ourselves a break all day get used to having a new routine.

timeforawine · 27/03/2020 08:35

We're drinking 1 more night than normal but trying to not exceed that, normally drink Fri and Sat, now added Wed 'wine Wed' Grin

Conrad79 · 27/03/2020 08:36

yes!!

Aragog · 27/03/2020 08:37

When we started SI early last week Dh called Virgin wine up. We always get wine through them and we were due some anyway.

The man he was talking too said sales were higher than ever and the team were reaching their daily targets before lunch time.

So I do think more people have been stocking up.

alloutoffucks · 27/03/2020 08:41

You know when others were buying loo roll and soap? I bought wine and chocolate. I am actually drinking less than normal, but have 7 bottles of wine, spirits and cans. Easily enough for 3 months. Loo roll on the otherhand...

hadenough · 27/03/2020 08:43

No point denying it, I'm in the same boat.

I live in Spain and am making the most of the €2 wine...

I had cut back to just drinking 2 nights per week but everything right now just feels so surreal so I'm not feeling guilty about an extra glass of wine here or there.

Wauden · 27/03/2020 08:50

Yes, one measure of whiskey an evening since Monday night. Will be more at the weekend 🥃

Wauden · 27/03/2020 08:52

I am eating much less Halo

LutherRalph1 · 27/03/2020 08:53

I've just heard our dustmen doing the glass box round, it sounded much noisier than normal

clareOclareO · 27/03/2020 08:53

Wine and beer consumption is about normal for me, but I seem to be rattling through the spirits faster than usual. Fortunately I've got four bottles unopened still (two scotch, one bourbon, one vodka) which should be enough for a few weeks, I just hope this situation resolves itself soon.

ButterbuttSquash · 27/03/2020 08:55

Yes. I like a glass or three of wine anyway, but everyday feeling like the weekend is starting me earlier! Husbands been having a beer at lunchtime while sorting the decking like every days bloody Saturday.

Bringringbring12 · 27/03/2020 08:56

No, single parent and hate drinking on my own

Plus... thought of single parenting and home schooling with a hangover. Shudder! I need my morning run to psyche myself up for tn e day and couldn’t do that following a glass of wine previous night

SimonJT · 27/03/2020 08:56

Yes, I couldn’t alter my ocado shop so we ended up with £50 of beer. We don’t want it to go off.

lidoshuffle · 27/03/2020 09:00

I never drink (alone) at home usually but I'm having a glass a night now.

HeartyGreenSalad · 27/03/2020 09:20

I'm a bit annoyed to hear that sainsburys are not restocking wine. It's sold to adults and they can make their own decisions. Limit it, but give people a choice.

Kittykat93 · 27/03/2020 09:25

Yeah I've been having a couple of glasses every day usually have my first about 4pm! I need to start cutting down or it will become a hard habit to break

LauraAshleySofa · 27/03/2020 09:36

My neighbours most definitely are and tbh I will think a lot less of them from now on that they're sitting at home on furlough (tax payers money) getting pissed in their garden from 4pm onwards when other people are still working, home schooling and running errands for vulnerable people in our road. Certainly seeing the true colours of some people that's for sure.

suziesue45 · 27/03/2020 09:40

I've not got time to drink, I'm getting home from work and passing out with exhaustion.
