Anyone else drinking more since lockdown?

I only properly realised when I looked at the recycling. I think we've had a drink every night this week. Prosecco on a weeknight? Yep.

Work is fucking mental.
I have good intentions every night to do an online class. And then after sitting at my desk for 10+ hours solid I just pour a glass of wine.

Nope. But I'm eating a whole lot more because I'm stuck at home with idle hands.

Yes! Never drink during the week. Now 2 glasses a night.

I think the novelty might wear off but for now it’s fine.

yep. didn't usually drink on a "schoolnight" (well sun-wed anyhow) cos of work. but now I'm furloughed and no train to get kids on in the morning, my self control has disappeared

Yes, I’m drinking too much. It helps me relax, but I need to be careful.

Sadly, increased alcohol dependency will be one of many negative outcomes from this whole saga.

Oh yes for sure. I’ve been having one of those half prosecco bottles from Sainsbury’s every night. Think it’s a combination of marking switching off my laptop and going from work to chilling out and knowing I don’t have to wake up until 8.30 and only have to commute as far as the sofa.
I’ve run out of those half bottles though and Waitrose only had the really tiny ones which are only good for one glass so I’m not sure what I’ll be doing from now. I stocked up on normal size bottles but I’m not sure I can drink a full on a night. Might have to persuade DP to switch from beer

Me too, would love to drink but don’t have access to any so instead am constantly comfort eating and feeling guilty about it on so many levels.
If AA don’t get me, Over Eaters Anonymous will.😊

I'd like to but I just can't make myself! I just can't get past the idea of being at home all day with my toddler with a hangover, or worrying that it'll deplete my body's immune system and I'll get Coronavirus 🤯

Oh yes. If I wasn't so fricking busy with work I'd be starting at lunchtime. And I normally hardly drink at all.

I feel like I'm eating more because of stress too - I just want to bake cakes and eat fattening food! We've had pancakes and maple syrup two mornings in a row now

Oh yes to the meals. I’d normally have porridge for breakfast at work, now it’s 3 decadent meals a day here. DP wants to gain 2 stone so he’s very happy, if only I could give him 2 of mine!

Yipp av been having 2 drinks at night. And a wouldn't even bother with drink

The opposite, barely drinking at all and lost half a stone in weight as have lost my appetite.

Yes. I need to cut back! My husband works in a key worker role and is very busy, I had an operation on sunday for suspected cancer so in a lot of pain and also anxious about the results, i have three young children to look after and educate - I look forward to wine in the evening!! Thankfully I have plenty! Attempting to go back to work tomorrow (from home) so I can't see me not drinking tomorrow either!

Yep, I have half a bottle of wine left in my fridge. Have to venture out tomorrow for some essentials and will definitely be stocking up. This thread may turn into an AA support group when this is over!

Sorry ladies but selfishly thanks for this thread (no AA meetings due to corona) this threads made me thankful I don't have to worry about alcohol in any way shape or form anymore sorry to gatecrash
