Refusing to refund my money

refundmymoneynow · 23/03/2020 11:26

I've booked an appointment to have my nose pierced with a tattoo parlour, they have several studios in England. I've made the mistake and booked to have it done at their Glasgow studio when I'm in London, I've paid online and they're now refusing to refund the money. It was £25. I don't know what to do Sad

Write it off, You were crazy to consider it anyway. Is this essential going out WTF

Stickybeaksid · 23/03/2020 11:31

Nice one...

Cacaca · 23/03/2020 11:33

Was the piercer going to do it keeping 2 meters from you? Or does social distancing not apply to you as I can’t imagine this is an appointment you’ve booked for way in advance.

MsMD · 23/03/2020 11:34

Yep getting close enough to someone you don't know for them to stick a needle through your nose is a great idea right now. Maybe consider the money a stupid idea tax and move on.

Bluntness100 · 23/03/2020 11:34

I’m not sure what you mean by you’re not sure what to do? It was hardly their error and I’m sure you read the terms and conditions, right?

refundmymoneynow · 23/03/2020 11:36

I booked it a while ago, I just want my money back that's all.

You know there are people losing homes, livelihoods, and loved ones, don't you? £25 isn't worth you giving it headspace.

Wineislifex · 23/03/2020 11:43

Your mistake so they don’t have to refund your money, nothing you can do about it

NorthernBirdAtHeart · 23/03/2020 11:45

Write it off, it’s not their fault.

WindowGazer2 · 23/03/2020 11:45

Good to see Mumsnet still has utterly ridiculous threads in a time of national crisis.

ShirleyPhallus · 23/03/2020 11:47

Was the piercer going to do it keeping 2 meters from you?

They stick the needle on the end of a broom handle and just jab you from afar?!

Grin @ShirleyPhallus

or attach it to a nerf gun bullet and shoot it at the OP.

Come on folks, lets come up with more ridiculous suggestions Grin
we need a silly thread right now!

Sorry OP, I'd write it off.

Olawisk · 23/03/2020 11:57

You appointment was for there Glasgow studio, not London.

You either get it done at the time and place you booked it or you lose the money.

It’s your own fault op. You won’t get your money back.

That’s besides the whole CV that’s going around now anyway Confused

LovingLola · 23/03/2020 11:58

Lol

MrsCVorFluWhoKnows · 23/03/2020 11:59

Actually to give a more sensible answer, can you ask them for a voucher for the local one to you, so not a refund but an exchange. They might be more agreeable to that.

Ninkanink · 23/03/2020 12:00

How long ago did you book it? If it was less than two weeks ago you can cancel and they must give a refund. If not I think you will just have to consider it a lesson learnt and make sure to check everything carefully from now on.

ilovesooty · 23/03/2020 12:01

Regardless of the current CV situation it was your error. Why should they refund your money?

Ninkanink · 23/03/2020 12:01

Or you could do as suggested above and try to ask for a voucher for the studio you actually want to use.

But please do not get your nose pierced at the moment!

GoJetterGirl · 23/03/2020 12:02

Write it off, you can call it your stupid tax, how on earth do you think going to have something done that requires close contact is a good idea?!

Notwiththeseknees · 23/03/2020 12:02

Harpoon gun?
Air rifle?
BB gun?
Really, really long needle?

MrsCVorFluWhoKnows · 23/03/2020 12:04

Drone?

Well trained dog?

Roweeeeena · 23/03/2020 12:04

Just write it off. Lots of people are losing money at the moment unfortunately.

Sparklfairy · 23/03/2020 12:04

I heard a vague rumour that there's some kind of contagious virus going around and it's better to stay indoors and ya know, not get non essential nose piercings..

Aquafresca · 23/03/2020 12:04

Can you ask them to reschedule to a later date couple of months from now? If they can't then forget about it. It's not worth the risk.
